  1. I was t-boned last week on the left side and my car is now in the body shop getting repairs. Cost to fix is about $5,000. I've driven that thing 85,000 miles so far and was not counting on having a good resale value. KBB was saying it was worth like like $13,000 for trade in and $15-16000 private party. I'm more happy i wasn't hurt. I'm guessing those numbers are going to drop $2,000 to $3,000...any thoughts?
  2. In general Goodyear's been pretty reliable and I don't feel they tried to screw me over. I do think their management decided that replacing shocks at 50,000 miles would be a good way to make money though. I did a little research and the easiest way to tell about shocks and struts is to simply push down on the car and see if it bounces or comes up very slowly. They did this on my car and it came up fairly slowly. However they said that when they hit the brakes when driving the front nose would drop down a little bit. I do a lot of highway driving so that's why I have 80,000 miles on my car after two and half years. I'm thinking that this is just a general recommendation and I can get away with waiting to at least a hundred thousand miles or possibly longer.
  3. I'm at 80,000 miles and am having some work done on my sport. Goodyear told me that they recomend getting the shocks/struts replaced at 50,000 miles. They said that mine were looking a little worn down and it could increase braking distance and tire wear. I'm not sold and think I should at least wait until about 100,000 miles. What do you guys think?
  4. A few people have said a sport version is coming, but I'm not holding my breath. 2014 or 2015 at the very very earliest. They need to get the model out the door first and considering there are so many versions that isn't an easy task. That beind said I believe the 2.0l ecoboost will probably be the same in performance as the current Sport which is good enough for me...
  5. I would wait for the 2013 Fusion with the 2.0 ecoboost...Your probably looking at around 19-20 mpg vs with the 2.0 you are probably looking at like 24 even with AWD. That being said if you want this model I would get it with every option including the navigation. The system is the first I've seen that hasn't made me want to go aftermarket. I'd pass on Ford's remote start. For the same price you can get a python responder one off amazon which is 2 way and way better.
  6. The new Altima was unveiled today, so just wondering what everyones takes are on it vs the new Fusion. The Altima will probably outperform the Fusion bc its going to be about 100-150 pounds lighter and will have 270 hp/258 torque vs 237hp/250 torque... That being said I think the Fusion looks better and has a nicer interior and will probably still be pretty fast.
  7. If you tint the windows to like 20% that will help a lot. The leather gets warm but the seats are perforated...which disperses the heat fairly quickly. I had an Altima with black leather non perforated seats that was tinted and I can tell a huge difference
  8. What kind of mileage are you getting with your hybrid? Any guesses what I would get considering I'm driving mostly highway
  9. My total miles driven each month right now with a 100 mile daily commute plus regular driving is 3700. I might be moving and my commute could possibly go up to 4800 miles a month...mostly highway. My current Sport averages 21.5 with this commute so that ads up to $688 montly gas bill and when I move it will be $894...I'm currently getting an extra $300 a month for this commute but when I move I won't be getting that anymore. I've heard good things about the 2.0T. If on this drive it got me into the high 20s it might be worth it. They hyrbid is 47 city and 44 highway...that would cut the fuel bil in half! Do you guys think it would actually get that?
  10. I really don't understand hybrids too much. I was just wondering what you guys thought the 0-60 times for these two cars would be. I'm going to have a very long commute for the next few years so I should get the hybrid, but I'm tempted by the 2.0T ecoboost engine coming out.
  11. It'll be a high end option that most people won't get. Probably like $1000 or so. I'll pass unless it's part of a larger package.
  12. So the 2.0l ecoboost gets 23 city and 33 highway. I'm guessing combined it'll be 27.
  13. That's the press release I was referring too. You know honestly though I think I'd be hard pressed to wait 12-18 months for a sport version if the 2.0 matches my current 2010 sport. Since you seem to be the expert any guesses on the performance/fuel economy of the 2.0l in the fusion? It gets the fwd Edge to 60mph in 7.5 seconds, so I'm guessing a Fusion would probably knock it down to like 6.5 seconds. Also the 4000lb Edge gets 24mpg overall on fueleconomy.gov, so maybe 27-28 combined for the 2013 Fusion?
  14. Actually in the press release it does say that the 2.0L is the performace/sport version. That being said that probably means that its the "sport" version for now since they real sport version isn't ready yet Any guesses what kind of engine they would put in it? 3.5 Ecoboost AWD? The thing would be a rocket.
  15. I was wondering about that. A loaded Sport with nav is around 32-33k and if they made a Sport version of the Fusion is would probably push it to $35,000 or so. Do you really think there is a market for a ST Fusion?
