  1. So on my 2009 Fusion I figured the passenger side has a piece that follows the track, in order to push down the spring mechanism that holds the deflector up when the sunroof is open.  On the driver side, that piece is not there.  I can't tell if it's broke off, sitting off the track, or completely gone.  Either way, the driver side of the deflector stays up, stopping the sunroof from fully closing.  I can push it down and then get it closed but I'm hoping to fix it to work correctly.

Has anyone figured out how to repair this?  What piece needs to be purchased and how to get it installed?  Hoping it wouldn't require replacing the entire sunroof.

Hi Btl. Yes, the turning radius of the first generation Fusion/MKZ/Milan was a wide one. Something in the 40' range, if I recall correctly.

There is nothing that can be done about it, in any sort of reasonable manner.

    Good luck.

I figured as much.  Thanks for clarifying.

  3. Fairly new owner.  This car seems to have the turning radius of a truck.  It's running stock 16" rims and tire sizes (205/60s).  Supposedly it's about the same as our Honda Pilot, but feels worse.  Seems to be the same regardless of direction.

Is this normal?  Has anyone come up with a way to improve it?  Can't imagine there would be, but figured if there was a way, someone here would know.

  4. Have a fairly new-to-me 2009.  Brakes will stop the car acceptably.  Brake fluid has been thoroughly flushed and bled.  Rotors and pads are good.   Seems to have good pedal pressure.  It does respond as soon as you start to brake, however the travel pedal feels longer than other cars we're used to.  Every car can be a little different in braking feel.  Wondering if this is just how this generation Fusion is, or if there is still something else I'm missing.

Hi Btl. Welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum and congratulations on getting your Fusion.

Just a small FYI or two: The "Welcome" forum is for new member introductions only. And please do not double-post questions. It makes it easier for others to help you if all questions, answers and information are in one place.

You already posted the same general questions about the front end and grill in another sub-forum. So please keep any other questions in that thread or another appropriate sub-forum. If others begin answering your questions here instead of in your other thread, we will need to lock this thread.

Best of luck with your Fusion.

Thanks  bbf.  Sorry for the double post.  Edited original.

  6. Going to replace the front bumper cover due to some small damage (cracked has small chunk missing).  Have been searching to see if there is a "sportier" bumper replacement, but so far all I seem to find is what appears to be a lower valance spoiler add-on (which unfortunately won't cover the damage).  Is there a sportier version out there (and of good fitment quality)?

I think I'm also going to paint the chrome grilles with glossy-black on the front.  Or are there better options?

  7. Hello everyone!

New member with a 2009 with less than 50k miles on the clock (literally owned by a little old lady).  It's a 2.3L auto.  Gas mileage on it's maiden trip home was quite impressive (nearly 27mpg mostly highway @ 70-75mph).
