  1. Could be it cannot read THAT CD. Do you have another one? Sometimes home made CD are marginal from player to player. The ones I have are readable. But I wound up putting all my MP3s and WMAs on a USB drive and plug it in. Lots more songs available and it is cheap.
  2. Normally, my camera shows the same as the picture. One day, quickly starting the car to move it in my driveway, all I saw was tree tops and sky. Stupid trunk was open.
  3. Before you blame the temperature sensor, look at what the service manual says about the 2010 Fusion. And the HVAC unit uses the displayed temperature for a lot of it's decision. I have started my car in the morning, when the external temp is correct, say 40F. Driving around all day, making short trips, parking, more short trips. By the afternoon, the outdoor temp is 80F, the inside temp (after being parked) is over 100F, and the external temp is still reading 40F. It is just a bad example of overdesign defeating its purpose. I have to set the temp to 65 to get the AC to come on, since it thinks it is still coo outside and is probably trying to use the outside air to cool the car. From the Service manual: External Temperature Display While the actual external temperature can vary continuously, the value that is displayed will update at a specific rate depending on whether or not the engine is "hot" and whether or not the vehicle is moving. When the external temperature is rising, the display will update slowly. Updates (when the actual external temperature is higher than currently displayed value) will be limited to 0.6°C (1°F) every 20 seconds while the vehicle is moving at greater than 40 km/h (25 mph) for more than 90 seconds or 0.6°C (1°F) every 20 minutes if the vehicle is not moving at this speed. This is to prevent the heat from the engine compartment from affecting the accuracy of the display. When the external temperature is dropping, the display will update quickly. Updates (when the actual external temperature is lower than currently displayed value) will only be limited to 0.6°C (1°F) every 2 seconds (regardless of vehicle speed). Consequently the display will essentially follow the drop experienced by the external temperature thermistor.
  4. That delay setting is for how long the rear display remains after shifting out of reverse. I believe it is "Delay On/Off" As for the splash screen/delay, i believe that is the time it takes to "boot" the system. And yes, it is frustrating to not have the camera right away. So what I do is start the car, then put on the seat belt, adjust my but in the seat, etc. By then it is usually ready.
  5. Look in your owners manual under "Recreational Towing". It's in my 2010 FFH owners manual on page 205.. the last thing in the "Tires, Wheels, and Loading" section. From the PDF... TRAILER TOWING WARNING: Never tow a trailer with this vehicle. Your vehicle is not equipped to tow. No towing packages are available through an authorized dealer. RECREATIONAL TOWING An example of “recreational towing” is towing your vehicle behind a motorhome. Note: Put your climate control system in recirculated air mode to prevent exhaust fumes from entering the vehicle. Refer to the Climate controls chapter for more information. Note: If you tow your vehicle with all four wheels on the ground, follow these instructions: • Tow only in the forward direction. • Release the parking brake. • Place the transmission shift lever in (N) Neutral. • Place the ignition to the accessory position (refer to Starting in the Driving chapter). • Do not exceed 65 mph (105 km/h) but you should always obey local speed limits. • Start the engine and allow it to run for five minutes at the beginning of each day and at each fuel stop. You also have the option of trailering the vehicle with its front wheels on a dolly, or trailering with all four wheels off the ground.
  6. Nah, it's just a minor bug in the system. :hysterical2:
  7. I see you are from MA. One option I wish I had was the engine block heater. I park outside at night, and in the morning, I figure having the ICE warmed up a bit would cut down on how long it has to run to reach temperature to supply heat to the cabin. My morning commute is only about 5 miles, and most of that time the ICE has to run just to warm up. Of course, I can, and have turned off the HVAC and used the seat heaters to allow the ICE to stop. Otherwise, I sit at a traffic light, HV battery fully charged, and the ICE running.
  8. In my 2010 manual, it never mentions cruise control in the break-in paragraph on page 5. Just says to vary your speed over the first 1000 miles, to not drive at the same speed. So, if you are going on a 1000 trip on the highway, I guess that would mean to not set the cruise control at one speed. Anyway, it's been 2 years and 23000 miles with only oil changes and tire rotations. Love this car!!
  9. So have I. And it is purely a matter of preference. I found the continual scrolling annoying. If I need to know the full title, I can press the arrow, see it once, and the scrolling stops. Purely a matter of preference, and to make it a configurable option? Where would it end? So the engineers decide, possibly based on their own preferences.
  10. Ah, those are only the "official" commands. Try saying "I'm hungry" and see what happens. There are more too. :hysterical2:
  11. Have any of you already had the "Black Box" installed? I was wondering 2 things... How did they connect it to the car? (ODB-II plug?) And did they tell you exactly what kind of data they were going to be capturing? My appointment is for next week.
  12. Fog light part is strange, but the DRL's are only supposed to be on when the car is in Drive. I had them turned on by the dealer.
  13. Yesterday, I got a call from Morepace with the same offer. They asked me a few questions to make sure I was keeping the car for a while, and then explained the Black Box, the $150 + $150, and will be sending me the details to participate. I have an appointment in early February at a not-too-local dealership to have the box installed. I have close to 18,000 miles, have never had any problems other than one "reset", and have had the brake re-flash. So, lets keep in touch with this one. We know at least two people that will have the box. Maybe. I too, was told I would meet with a Ford engineer. BTW, this is in New Jersey.
  14. I don't think that is a glitch/bug. It is a "feature" . Mine, and I would assume ALL of the Ford Nav systems behave that way. The checkered flag is showing your most recent destination. If you cancel the destination, it goes away. You will note that even though you have the checkered flag showing, there is no route. That was cleared when you "reached your destination."
