  1. It's a 2010 Fusion Hybrid. I've been the sole owner, it's a great car, in good condition with only 61k miles on it. For the first time it did not pass the Illinois Emissions test this year because the 01 & 02 sensors (for oxygen) won't function. The only reason anyone can point to for causing it might be the fact it went undriven for 2+ months which apparently requires a lot of subsequent driving to produce a driving cycle in order to reset the sensors. After not passing twice, I took it to my Ford dealer. They did diagnostics to the max and could not solve the problem. They replaced the sensors with new ones, they replaced the PCM, checked all the wiring, set up a case with FMC, between the mechanics and me, it has been driven 1000 miles since the first failure to pass but still shows as "not ready". FMC even had an engineer come to town from Detroit to get to the bottom of it. He couldn't resolve it either. Now I'm in a catch 22 with the State of Ill who won't let me renew my license sticker until it either passes or fails emissions testing, in which case I could at least apply for a waiver. I was able to get an extension to the end of May on my sticker to try to resolve this problem. So, ridiculously, I can't pass the test and I can't fail the test, they just can't DO the test. I do not want nor can afford a new car. I want this one fixed. Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?
