  1. Hi all, I have a 2012 Sport with 88k on the clock. I noticed there’s a whining noise upon acceleration at any speeds. If I put the car in neutral and rev the engine, the noise is not present. If I keep my foot on the brakes and accelerate, the noise is not present. It’s only when driving. I’ve already had the PTU serviced. I lived the car up on jack stands and nothing feels loose, and the CV axles seem tight and without leaks. You can somewhat hear the whine in my video. https://youtu.be/CRwFlHDgWqU Any ideas?
  2. I'm looking to self service my PTU. I already have a vacuum pump, plug sealant, and a pump for the new fluid. Does anyone have any recommendation on what fluid to use? Do I need a friction modifier?
  3. I figured it out. I scanned it with an ABS scanner and found codes U0114 and P0819. I was suspect of the shift lever assembly so I went to my local pick and pull and picked up a used assembly from a Mercury Milan with Select Shift for just under $25. I wanted my interior pieces to match, so I pulled the small chip out and installed into my existing assembly. It was located on the right hand side and was held in by one T20 screw. Now I have no codes present and my SelectShift works as it should. Wrench light is also gone. Removing the gear shift assembly was fairly easy. All you need is a flat head screw driver, basic sockets, and some trim pulling tools. I disconnected my battery just to be on the safe side.
  4. Linc, did you figure out what the issue is? I'm having the same issue with my 2012 Sport.
  5. Ryneconn, did you figure out this issue? I'm having this exact same problem. Thanks!
  6. I purchased my 2012 Sport with 80k miles just last week. My wife and I took it on a multi-state 1,000 mile+ drive. Just yesterday we got some snow here and and after leaving work, a wrench light appeared. I did use the manual trans option for 30 seconds while going (slowly) down a hill out of my office parking lot. Now this this wrench light won't go away, and I am unable to use the manual option on my trans. Other than not being able to use this feature, my car is running just fine. The only thing I have changed on this car is the cabin air filter ? Scanned my car and found the following codes: U0073 U0100 I've already cleaned my cars battery terminals, and replaced the battery (was just 2 years old) Any tips or ideas of what to check?
