  1. piratepress: Thanks, always seem to forget Rock Auto.
  2. Does anyone know if you have to run the band around the wheel to hold the TPS ? will the newer sensors work without the band ?  Its a 2009 Fusion Planing on Motocraft TPM  9l3Z-1AB9-A sensors. Also directions to relearn the computer?

  3. W Kelly. My local Ford Stores want over $ 100.00 per for sensors. Im thinking now about Motorcraft Online. The Denso name is good for me however. Switched to Denos from my used to be reliable NGK plugs and cured my misfire on my small block Cheby. (oops) Now i just gotta find where to buy the silver wheel paint for my 2009 Confusion. Thanks You for responding. Bop
  4. Got new tires for 2009 Ford Fusion. Need new sensors. I see many scams out there that say Motocraft on the plastic bag and they are not. Does anyone have a preference or actual experience with this topic? Part numbers are nice too.
  5. You're doing better than me. I have only found 1 16" smoothy. Just took a gamble and ordered 1 from e bay.
  6. I need set of 4 16" rims for my 2009 Fusion. This is pretty well know but they are 5x114.3 bolt pattern 67.1 Bore San Fransico area.
  7. Want to get the 18" OEM Wheels and tire off my 2009 Fusion. They handle good but feel every bump in the road. Want to sacrifice a little handling for a nice cushy ride. I'm in SF Bay area region. Anyone have 16" OEM'S for sale. Thanks, Bob
  8. All i could say is Ive found most electrical problems by simply wiggling and pulling on wires. Primary side of coarse. Have you moved around ice cube relays on the electrical box? Same technique. Any electrical connection at all will do it. The fact that it temperature induced somehow is interesting. Some solid state component maybe ??? Hope it not the PCM . If you really get to you're wits end you can always do the `C02 fire extinguisher trick. Puts some welders gloves on and don't freeze your fingers off.
  9. Check a resistance on a coil you know isn't miss firing or even easier swap coils to different cylinder. Be careful! Make sure its ignition miss and not a rocker shaft bolt loosening up and causing reduced lift on valves leaning it and causing miss. The early 3.0 had this problem. I think latter years it was corrected. My 2 sents. Bop
  10. I wouldn't even entertain the idea of Auto Zone. You're doing about a $2000.00 job. I dont think id try to save a buck on parts. Bop
  11. Jpaulus. First thing to check is rim or tire size. If it has 18" or bigger, get them of the thing. I'm going through the same thing with my 09 SE. These big rims look really cool and make the car handshake slightly better but that's where it stops. They don't have enough sidewall height to absorb bumps. So they pick up slightest imperfections in the road. A large enough pothole can blow them out too. I have 18" on mine and im going back to 16". I thought about 17" but i want to switch once and hopefully have it done with. You can see my post under wheels and tires, Name of Bop
  12. Gorilla; This is Bop here. Newer member. Older guy. I used to have the NGK problem. They worked in several of my vehicles for years. One such is a mildly built 350 Chevy in my 70 Pickup. Only 3,000 miles on it. It developed a miss. I say what the hell. Wires new. New HEI . A friend of mine that owns a shop said get them out of there. He has solved more intermittent misses but pulling NGK'S OUT Ford Chevy what ever. . I wouldn't have believed it. I pulled them out and installed Dinso's and the miss cleared up completely. I here noways Champions are good. They used to be junk. What about Autolite? NGK'S was just my experience. Not trying to sell anything to anyone. Good Luck, Bop
  13. Rear view mirror topic. Thanks for pin out logic. But yes. Pin outs are identical. same year too. Ive just been flipping the rear view up at night. Side views kinda see to the rear somewhat. Thank you for responding. I need to get the 18" crash bang tires off the thing first. I cant see why anyone would want to do this to a car. It's a testament to the little Fords suspension. It took the pounding of these 18" for 57,000.
  14. 2009 Fusion. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It leaks when parked. I can figure out to take the bulb out and point a heat gun that direction. But, where does the water leak in?
  15. Jeff: Good question. Ive got an 09 V6 6 speed AWF-21 Want a magnetic plug for my trans as well.. Most magnetic plugs sites only advertise oil pan plugs. Finally gave up. I'm just going to wait tell i drian the transmission and measure it. Next time around I'll have the magnetic plug. Even visited a transmission shop. They had know idea either. Your car is much newer, Seem like someone should be familiar. I assume you're talking about thread size. Bop
  16. Thanks all! I'm a recent recent 09 Fusion owner, Hydraulic Steering !!!!! SE model. Only problem is grandma checked the sport package box when she ordered it. Only has 57 K on it. a little garage queen but my Peterbuilt rides better. It has 18" inch wheels. I was wondering what else the sport package did to it. Mainly the suspension. It'l carve up a twisty road but it comes at a huge price. Those 18" with not much side wall telegraph every imperfection in the road to the chassis. Thanks, Bop
  17. Thanks You. Still puzzled Rock Auto specifies a particular part number for upper control arms for 2009 Year. Rock Auto photo's show a different control arm for 16" and 17" wheel nothing specified for 18". The 16' CONTROL ARM has a rubber stopper bolted to it. The tire diameters work out pretty good. Also wonder if Sport Package was just mostly black chrome grill, fog lights and spoiler. I'm just hoping there not bigger sway bars, different spring rates and struts. I guess I'm a worry wart. I will let you know. I'm think of going to Pick You're Nose and snagging a 16" wheel. Go from there. If it works Thanks, Bop
  18. Good topic. I have a 2009 SE with sport package. It has 18" Wheels 225/45/18. So it has a very short sidewalls. These tires telegraph most any imperfection in road to the chassis. I would like to put 16" wheels on my car so i could have a standard 205/60/16 tires witch are the same diam. as current tires but higher sidewalls . I notice though parts manuals specify a different part numbers for upper control arms for both 16" and 17" wheels. I know the bolt circle and bores are identical. I just don't know if the wheels will hit somewhere. Thanks, Bop
  19. Than you. I checked it at night. Shined a light on the sensors so it thinks it head lights. Got one out of my local pick a part as well. It had the same plug so i plugged it in just banding it to the other mirror temperately to check it. No dim on that mirror either. I didn't notice any other wires with power upon activating headlights. I suspect something like you said. only power is from green wire. Green and white was ground. Now im on a quest to see if i can put 16" wheels with a normal sidewall height tire on the thing. The 18" that are on it now amplify every bump in the road. Otherwise i love my little Ford. I'm taking a lotto heat from my Chevy friends. When do they grow up? Regards, Bob
  20. The image of A/P with Pills berry Dough Boy was sent in error. Hope everyone gets a laugh! I had a question though. Doers the 2009 Fusion have an inherent Electromagnetic rear view mirrorr problem? I know about the sensors getting blocked from spoiler ect. On my car it just doesn't dim. Got one off another car and plugged it in. It doesn't dim either. Have 12v to the thing and good ground. Have tried bright flash light to sensors. Microphone works, just no dim function. Thanks, Bob
