  1. Yea, saw that its a weird design! Anyway after I saw the pump was internal I now second guess its the pump! how could antifreeze get through the timing cover? Anyway I do actually have a lift.. Right now its occupied by a Fiero that does not like to be outside in bad weather haha... When its gets a bit warmer I will tear it apart and update the thread...
  2. Well, Received the car via flat bed, charged a batt and so far nothing as its late to do any checks but so far it starts fine, has plenty of power but is definitely low on coolant so I didn't run it long but do not see any coolant in the oil.. Actually the oil looked ok.. we will see... it has more on it than i was told though.. 200k quick check says I can get a long block for 500 with 110k so.. not bad... If I have to swap it so be it as my son wants to learn... Update... Poured antifreeze in and its started leaking from the bottom right away... As far as I can tell it looks to be the water pump (got home late its dark)... Doubt its the front head gasket as it rusn fine and has plenty of power (zero codes, no misfires)... With that said, is a water pump hard on these?

  4. Thanks guys, I will report back if it falls into my hands... First order of business beyond scanning of course will be compression, leakdown and coolant pressure testing... It would be really cool if it was just the pump but it has been to a service center... HOWEVER, I recently bought a Patriot that had a full work up on a sheet that said the trans was bad and a quote for 4K! It turned out it needed a crank sensor and the relay for the trans cooler fan was corroded! It has been running fine for 8 months! We will see!
  5. A friend of mine has a 2010 fusion sport that supposedly has a blown head gasket.. I can have the car for 250... Its loaded no rust and in decent shape... Worth the repair? I know nothing about these cars... I will repair/diagnose myself... I do own a home shop with a lift and have repaired many cars at all levels... What am I in for?
