Just for future reference for other who might experience a similar issue, I may have found the solution I wanted to post on the forum. Last week I had two more instances of issues. First, where I forget to disable the start/stop function with the button, and it stalled at a stoplight while heading to work. The car refused to start and I was stuck at the light for about 2 hours waiting for a tow. The dash screens would light up but none of my outside lights worked. For the heck of it, before the tow arrived, I disconnected and reconnected the terminals and, low and behold, the car was working fine again. The second instance happened when I parked my car and later it simply wouldn't start (appeared unrelated to stop/start). Once again, I disconnected and reconnected the battery and it was starting fine. Strange as it sounds, my Cobra radar detector has a battery check function whenever the car is started and it told me last week the battery was bad. Exploring this potential cause, I discovered that the prior owner installed a standard, non-AGM battery in the car. According the owner's manual, stop/start cars specify a AGM-type battery. I installed an AGM replacement and haven't had any problems (at least so far). Admittedly, I'm a bit nervous about keeping the stop/start function on so I've been trying to remember to keep it off but check it's functionality every time I drive the car when parking the car to see if works. So far, about 20-30 tests without issue. Just to try to increase my confidence in the fix, when I took the old battery to the auto parts store to recycle it, I asked them to use their battery check equipment to verify the battery was bad. When they checked it, it showed as 'passing'. This didn't help me feel better but, like I stated, the car appears to be running fine now that an AGM-type battery is installed. Maybe the old battery was just starting to fail (?). I hope this information helps someone else out in the future.

The car runs great other than this intermittent issue. The car has about 30k miles on it. It idles great, accelerates great. It stalls out about every couple months when it's running and at a stop. It appears to start up okay after it happens. I checked the DTC codes with a scanner and no codes appear. I haven't found much information online about possible causes with the above information. Additionally, I normally keep the auto start/stop function active on the car and just deactivated it today via the button next to the gear selector as I wonder if something associated with this system is the culprit. It might not be associated with the issue but figured it would be worth trying. I don't recall if the car was actually running or in the auto-stop condition when at the stoplight. As many of you know, the car sometimes will not auto-stop when the A/C is running. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is my first Fusion and notice something when pulling out into traffic (not a merging lane but turning right at a stop sign into heavy traffic). Where I live in town typically has heavy, fast-moving traffic. I've noticed if I'm turn out into traffic and am heavy on the throttle, I'm fighting with the wheel for a few seconds before things smooth out. This is a new experience for me in any prior cars I've driven. At first I thought it might be the fact that the Fusion is FWD and has a relatively powerful turbo motor which was producing torque steer. Although this might be the case, I noticed the steering wheel feel in this type of instance is similar to the feedback given from my lane-keeping assist function on the car. I need to fight the wheel a bit to keep the car moving where I want it to go. Maybe a combination of both torque steer under heavy throttle and the lane keep assist causing this, perhaps. I'll try to remember to turn off the lane assist feature next time I pull into heavy traffic to see what happens. Has anybody experienced this and, if so, have any thoughts to share? Thanks.

Thanks everyone for you input. I spoke to the tuner company and they verified that the spark plug model number was correct. They said it's a slightly 'colder' plug which is more ideal for their tune. I'll give it a try and can always switch to Motorcraft, Champion, or another brand if I don't like how they function. Thanks again.

I'm having a 'box' tune done by Unleashed Tuning using a SCT module on my 2019 Fusion 2.0L Ecoboost and the recommended spark plugs by the tuner are spark plugs are NGK Iridium IX LTR7IX-11 spark plugs with a 0.28" gap. The cross reference guides I've found online don't mention my year/model as being compatible with this plug. Does anybody know if this plug is okay to use with my vehicle? I wanted to ask - better safe than sorry. Please let me know your thoughts and thanks.
