  1. I understand that a limited number of 2006 models used the cartridge style, before Ford switched back to the spin on for everything.
  2. While sales are down, the Fusion is still a high volume car. It's also a car with a pretty good reputation in the industry. Sedans will always get better mileage and handle better than SUVs. It's physics. If Ford is so foolish as to drop this volume seller, they will get owned by the Japanese companies the next time gas goes up. It's hard to get a production line up and running once it's down. Notice how long it's taken to get the Ranger going again?
  3. I don't get the impression that this is a wide spread problem with Ecoboosts. We know it does occur, but I'm not seeing a lot of forum complaints. Here are a couple of Youtube videos from a Ford tech on the subject (where it does occur). Be sure to view the second followup video, where you get better information.
