While sales are down, the Fusion is still a high volume car. It's also a car with a pretty good reputation in the industry. Sedans will always get better mileage and handle better than SUVs. It's physics. If Ford is so foolish as to drop this volume seller, they will get owned by the Japanese companies the next time gas goes up.
