  1. Purchased my Milan Hybrid new in September of 2009 and tracked milage for nine years until the app crashed on my phone. I had a lifetime mileage of 33.2 mpg. Lifetime milage would drop in the peak winter and summer temps and increase in spring and fall. I drive it like a real car and not a Prius, not milking every mpg out of each tank of gas.
  2. Is this is all true, how is Ford not legally liable for programming in obsolescence into a hybrid vehicle without notifying all purchasers prior to the sale. This is different than engineering a part to wear out because one expects wear on a vehicle. You do not expect a vehicle to stop working because of a predetermined but undisclosed point on a calendar. Class action?? My 2010 Milan Hybrid no longer operates in EV mode.
  3. We had our first mechanical issue this last weekend. Our MMH had just over 59,000 miles on it when the check engine light came on. The car started shaking and sounded as though it was running on three cylinders. We found out today that a fuel injector went bad. It will take two to three days for the replacement to come in. The Dealership set me up with a rental. Everything covered by the warranty.
  4. The brake light lens/back-up camera fell out of the spoiler on my 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid. It has 45,000 miles. It was due for its every 5,000 mile oil change, yes I know it only should be changed every 10,000 mile, so I had them look at re-installing the brake light and camera at the same time today. I found out that both clips had broken off the lens. More importantly, I found out that the extended warranty I had purchased because of previous experiences with Ford products 15-years ago does not cover this $250 part or the labor to install. Has anyone else had this problem?
  5. The driver's side interior door handle quite working today. I have 35,542 miles on my MMH. Dealer to repair on Thursday. Any one else have this problem?
  6. If I wanted to drive a car and be uncomfortable I would have purchased a Prius. It came with an AC so use it when it is hot. It came with a heater so turn it on when it is cold. And when traffic is flowing at 70 don't drive 50 to save gas. You give the rest of us a bad name.
  7. Thank you New Ford Fusion Member for your help. I really appreciate this site and its great members. I contacted the Ford SYNC folks and this is what they said. SYNC supports the hands free calling feature and therefore must be paired with a mobile phone. The only thing you are able to stream with SYNC is Bluetooth audio. Using Bluetooth audio you can connect a media device such as an iPod or MP3 player to listen to music. I will pass along your feedback to the engineering team for future consideration. Sincerely, Ford Motor Company SYNC Support Center
  8. I know that this is not the Sync site but this is the site I get the most useful information on my MMH. I recently had lower back surgery and as a side effect, unknown cause, I now have significant and close to profound hearing loss. The hearing aids that I will be purchasing are Bluetooth capable. Is there a way to have the Sync System, radio/Sirius/etc., to Bluetooth broadcast? I know that my Iphone will Bluetooth connect to the hearing aids. The Bluetooth connection will allow the radio to connect to the hearing aids thus keeping the hearing aids from amplifying the vehicle noises such as fans and ICE as well as the road and wind noises. If not, Ford please put this on my wish list for future designs. There are lots of people wearing hearing aids now and even more will be as the baby boomers get older.
  9. They've already forgotten about my MMH. Before I ordered I read Ford President say we are keeping Mercury. Not even a thought now.
  10. Looking around the corner for the next best thing causes a stiff neck but doesn't get you a new car.
  11. From a guy with two hearing aids and glasses, I found your reply very funny as did my family members.
  12. I want to post real gas mileage data that I have collected on our MMH since taking delivery in September of 09. I have tracked every tank of gas on an I-Phone app. It is 5.2 miles to work all of which is in-town driving. I would guess that about 40% of our miles are on the highway. The app also graphs the gas usage and I have found that the graph matches the temperature with low mileage equal to low temperature. Our long term mileage is 31.98. Yes, I have many runs with 40, 50, 60 and even 70mpg but for every good run there are more 20 to 30mpg runs. We could not be happier with our MMH. We may be replacing our Camry so I have been checking out the MKZH on the Lincoln site. Sorry to see Mercury die. We dislike the FF nose so it has to be a Lincoln. We aren’t sure we can handle the extra $$ for the Lincoln. Those that are claiming such high mileage, their cars must always be warmed up, they must live in Florida but don’t need an AC, and no matter where they go it is downhill. If they are truly driving they way they describe I am glad I am not following them. 13. I haven’t been contacted by phone in over two weeks by the people at Sirius and since my free subscription was about to expire I called them. I called both the phone number that has been posted in the previous discussions and the number listed in the Sirius renewal notice. In both cases I was informed that the lowest they would go on Sirius Everything was $12.95 and $5.95 for Travel Link. I will miss them but $18.90 is way too much to pay.
  14. I took mine in today for reprograming. I did loose my long term gas mileage and it did reset my dash display to a differet setting.have been keeping my milage on the IPhone GasBuddy app so I still have great records on my mileage.
  15. We were selected as a winner of the 2010 Energy Star Award for Excellence in Energy-Efficient Affordable Housing. We are the only back-to-back winner

  16. Maybe Ford will trade you out for a LTD with a 8-track. It would ride like the cars you use to own and no more computer problems.
  17. I took mine in last Friday for an oil change and tire rotation. They never said a word to me about the letter I received today from Ford. Got to love it. The only dealer in sixty miles offers great service again.
  18. This is how many of the cars are built today. There is discussion on this subject under the window tinting topic.
  19. I see another debate on tax law coming.
  20. I have about 2,700 miles on my MMH. The trip to work is about 5-miles and takes about 15-minutes. With the temperature at about 60 degrees or above I was just starting to get about 34 to 42 mile/gal on a cold start in the morning. For the last two weeks the temperature has been between 17 and 34 degrees. I have averaged anywhere from 17 to 26 miles/gal since the cold temperatures started. At 17 degrees the Milan does not go into EV except at stop lights. It just doesn’t warm-up enough. If I can drive it long enough in the cold weather to get the gauge up to the halfway mark, my trip mileage goes up to the 36 plus mark. The problem is that the car cools down really fast when it is in EV. It drops out of EV in stop and go traffic. Love the car but hate cold weather.
  21. Wish I had a camera on front air scoop to keep me from dragging it on curbs and car stops when parking. Push a button and see the area just in front of the car like you do when you back-up. It seems that are curbs and car stops are about a ¼ inch higher than the bottom of the front air scoop. It is like fingernails on a chalkboard. I guess you would need a wiper for bugs and road kill.
  22. The reason I chose our MMH was that it didn’t look or feel like a Hybrid. When I pull up beside a Prius I find it difficult to keep from sticking my tongue out and saying Na--Na Na—Na—Na –I’m driving a real car.
  23. I’ve had a MMH for about two months. Every time I drive at night I have at least one if not multiple cars flash their lights at me. My wife told me not to follower her at night anymore because she has to move here side view mirror so it doesn’t shine in her eyes. I see no need to put an even brighter headlight in the car. I haven’t had a need to try the fog lights but will probably have to as winter hits.
