  1. Brought the car to the Ford Dealership on a tow dolly. I just hope they don’t over charge. Thanks for your help!
  2. What do you mean by “direct injection is new enough”? I’m trying to get the car to a different mechanic but really trying to avoid having to pay for towing again so want to check any other possibilities first. I changed injectors because the car was running a little rough, bad fuel mileage and jerking when accelerating. So I used the scan tool from autozone and was told bank 2 and 3 of fuel injectors needed to be changed but I went ahead and changed all 4. After removing them, sure enough bank 2 and 3 were severely clogged and could barely see the holes on those injectors. Fuel pressure has not been checked yet since the change. I didn’t mess with the high pressure pump or anything else on the car. I did however have to remove the fuel rail so I had to disconnect the fuel line that runs to the high pressure pump. The only other things I removed was the manifold and surrounding sensors to access the fuel rail and I went over every single thing I touched to make sure everything was hooked back correctly. The mechanic at the shop where the car is hooked up his big computer and there are 21 codes that are popping up. I added the photos. I’m going to go today and check the purge valve and all vacuum hoses again. I read in the car’s Manuel about resetting the fuel trim after swapping or disconnecting the battery. Do you know if that would affect anything?
  3. I have a Ford Fusion 2016/Titanium/2.0L/4 cylinder. I changed all 4 fuel Injectors, put everything back together, and released all the air out of the fuel line. Start the car and it’s running but it’s idling very rough and it revs up on its own. A mechanic opened the fuel line and said that the car ran smooth but as soon as he tightened it back up, it started running rough again. He also told me that everything was connected properly and the job was done good. I disconnected the negative battery terminal and left it disconnected all night, but when I tried to start the car the next morning it wasn’t running any better. When I changed the injectors, the only thing i didn’t do was disconnect the battery before taking the manifold and sensors off. Also, when I got the car started after the job, I heard a ticking noise coming from the high pressure fuel pump. I put my stethoscope against it to listen better and determined that noise was coming from that pump. Any suggestions on what I need to check or do? I’m stomped that two mechanics didn’t know what the problem could be. One of them told me to take the injectors back off and put the old ones but that’s a pretty big job and I know the injectors aren’t cheap because I paid $615 for all 4.
