I have a Ford Fusion 2016/Titanium/2.0L/4 cylinder.
I changed all 4 fuel Injectors, put everything back together, and released all the air out of the fuel line. Start the car and it’s running but it’s idling very rough and it revs up on its own. A mechanic opened the fuel line and said that the car ran smooth but as soon as he tightened it back up, it started running rough again. He also told me that everything was connected properly and the job was done good. I disconnected the negative battery terminal and left it disconnected all night, but when I tried to start the car the next morning it wasn’t running any better. When I changed the injectors, the only thing i didn’t do was disconnect the battery before taking the manifold and sensors off. Also, when I got the car started after the job, I heard a ticking noise coming from the high pressure fuel pump. I put my stethoscope against it to listen better and determined that noise was coming from that pump. Any suggestions on what I need to check or do? I’m stomped that two mechanics didn’t know what the problem could be. One of them told me to take the injectors back off and put the old ones but that’s a pretty big job and I know the injectors aren’t cheap because I paid $615 for all 4.
