  1. What might occur (per letter): Your vehicle may develop contamination on the internal motor contacts of the Throttle Body, resulting in intermittent electrical connectivity. I purchased my 2010 Fusion on th4 Fourth of July 2009 (almost paid off). Early on a TSB issued for a re-flash of transmission to change when gears change. Otherwise it as not been back to dealer, having over 80,000 miles on odometer. Every oil change took place on schedule in my back yard using only Motorcraft parts. I would appreciate it if to be aware of a site that explains the 13N03 in greater detail. I'm guessing one or more internal motors are a part of the Throttle Body; and the electrical contacts on a motor were not properly insulated against (? fuel contamination ?). This is the best sedan I have ever owned. Dean
  2. My 2010 Fusion driver's inside door handle broke last month, just like many others going back to '06. A month before it broke, it felt like the handle was too close to a trim piece and binding slightly. My conclusions for the cause are: 1. Engineering error; 2. Design failure; 3. Assembly Line slight misalignment; 4. Part supplier cheapened the cost to manufacture without regard to the stress on the part by the spring action. Thanks for all the photos. Reminded me of my '97 Contour with no parts broken but door would not lock. I don't think I'm going to replace it myself. Mine is not a safety issue. Will start with the dealer for perhaps shared cost to replace.
  3. Just a note that as odometer moved towards 36,000 miles, I couldn't think of a single reason to bring her to the dealer. On the last day I did however and mentioned the TSB on the ground strap as the starter had embarrassed me just two times. He asked if i had half-an-hour, then took care of it. I change the oil: 7mm cover; 13mm oil plug; 10mm filter cover; Motorcraft. In contrast, my wife's Civic with 21,000 miles has experienced a defective alloy wheel, defective sunvisor, door-lock program options that do not work, terrible ride, extremely noisy, fuel door release that doesn't open half the time, and more. I wish I could put her in a Fusion Hybrid. Nothing to dislike about the Fusion!
  4. I've owned a 2010 SE 2.5, 6-SPD Auto since July 2009. Just out of warranty at 37,000 miles. Ratio is 65/35 Highway/City. Disappointed when tank average is below 30 in winter; 28 in summer. Right now the display reads 31.4 at half a tank remaining. Reset it with nearly every fill up except for long road trips. Sun roof open or closed does not seem to have any effect on milage. Changed the air filter once. Pretty good about maintaining tire pressure. Above 75 MPH, the mileage will slide down to 29. Sweet spot seems to be 60 to 65 but 74 is most common speed traveled on Interstate. All city driving is 25-26 in my experience. No jack-rabbit starts but do push her down in acceleration lane when entering interstate (our law reads, "speed equal to or slightly above the speed of traffic when entering the main traveled lane"), so hitting 80 is usual practice. BTW I do the math, not the dashboard readout in determining actual mpg.
  5. Okay, so the post-Katrina streets of New Orleans are continuous potholes and two front tires had to be replaced after front end went out of alignment. Checked balance and mounted older tires on front but felt a vibe in the steering wheel. After 2 weeks, had tires switched with new tires on front. Very reputable tire dealer. I'm still feeling the vibration in the steering wheel on smooth interstate at 75 mph. If tire place did balance tires properly, is there another front-end part that might be causing this? Have 24,000 miles and 13 months on the Fusion. Thanks in advance for any advice. Dean
  6. When my wife used my Fusion today she left the lights on, and contrary to published statements, my battery went dead. Brought her Civic to her, jumped Fusion, headed home. Screen displayed, "No Phone" when phone icon depressed; and "No Aux" when pressing that button; also, no sync voice. "Chat" at syncmyride.com advised bring car to dealer. Found a fix on that community that worked. Remove "SYNC" fuse, wait 10 seconds, replace. Has anyone removed and replaced fuses from the Fusion panel? Whatever engineer decided on that location must have had it in for Fusion owners. With all the brilliant engineering that went into the Fusion, how could the designers possibly decided on that nearly inaccessible location?
  7. Leaving the lights on in my 2010 Fusion definitely drains the battery. Leaving the car out at night when the temp goes below 29 degrees F, renders car in need of a jump start.
  8. The Serius sound quality in my 2010 Fusion is outstanding and I really love the selections. At the end of 6 months, Serius offerred 3 months for the price of 1. Since then they sent me some other offer that is better than 12 months for the price of 10...just haven't read it yet. If you have noticed, the folks in the music publishing business are demanding more and more every day in hundreds of lawsuits so I don't think Serius is really making a killing. Pink Floyd just settled a suit today with their label over internet downloads.
  9. In my experience, I gotta blame poor milage on the weather when all other factors are equal. Wind, rain, and puddles this past week or so has pulled my average down about 3 mpg.
  10. Had my '10 SE Auto since July 8. 7,100 miles. Have not uncovered a single reason to bring it in. Use it as a lumber truck for backyard projects, hauling a dozen or more boards at a time. Front passenger seat folds down flat on this model. Have 10 ft of carpet i spread upside down entire length. One thing that could be improved: Auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror (the one in the Expedition seems to work better). On the other hand, I'm sitting much higher up in the Expy so headlights probably don't hit at the same angle. Since the front passenger seat folds flat, it would make more sense if the 60/40 split fold down rear seats gave the 60% to the passenger side.
