  1. Milan owner here, 2010 Premier with 3.0 V6 (2WD) and stock Michelins. Travel for work with this car and have been throughout New England and Maine this winter in the white stuff with no problems. I actually like the performance of the stock tires and feel they did just fine. No complaints!
  2. I haven't visited these forums for many many months but once here, I was honestly curious as to how this thread turned out. Needless to say, I AM SHOCKED that this issue remains unresolved and has carried over to the 2011 models with the I-4 motor. I think this problem has flown low and quietly below the radar of the general car owning public and you forum members are not the general public because the average Joe car owner does not also belong to a Fusion Forum or Club. This is just sad.....
  3. It's awesome! 2010 Milan Premier with the 3.0 V6 Had some minor tranny issues for the first couple of thousand miles and took it in to my dealer who checked it out and said just drive it for a few more thou. That seemed to work because all the tranny issues seemed to work themselves out nicely. Love the car, love the comfort, love the handling, love the power, love the 6-speed tranny which helps the motor seem so powerful. No regrets!
  4. Tomorrow is the DAY! Be there or Be square!
  5. Only two weeks away now Guy's n' Gals! Shine up your Milan and bring her down! (Fusions and MKZs too!)
  6. NJ Meet Sat. November 6th in Freehold, NJ http://www.fordfusionforum.com/index.php?/topic/4668-new-jersey-meet-sat-november-6th/
  7. Not bad except it's only $39.95 and includes free shipping.. So for someone to take it off your hands must want to do you a big favor.... I bid the $39.95 just so you know...
  8. If you buy one w/o SYNC, get yourself a bluetooth compatible GPS like a Garmin Nuvi and you can pair the Garmin with your phone for hands free talking via the speaker and microphone built into the Garmin. I used mine that way for years...
  9. I am constantly getting about 27.5 combo driving, granted most of that is indeed highway and I can tell you I don't baby my car for mileage. Of course, thats the cars computer giving me that reading and only god knows how accuratre that is. Still, 27.5 is pretty good if you ask me, especially having all the power of the 2010 V6-3.0 as it does. Very happy with the engine performance and mileage. Some of that is due to the 6-speed tranny though, but as a package, it does rather well.
  10. http://www.fordfusionclub.com/index.php?topic=180565.0 Hey guys n gals, Join us for a Central New Jersey gathering for all Fusion, Milan and MKZ owners! Saturday, October 30th November 6th – 4:30-6:30 p.m. Rain or Shine! This is the location: http://www.jbsdiner.com/ (Visit the JBs website for directions - this is County route 537) JB's Diner 205 Monmouth Road (Route 537 - Northeast of 6-Flags) Freehold, NJ 07728-7930 PLEASE Reply in the other thread referenced above if you intend to attend or not. Everyone should make up a small (A-Frame tent style) dashboard sign for their car to display 1. their Ford Fusion Club "Screen Name" and 2. the year, options and mods to their cars. Spouse not interested in a car gathering? Consider coming earlier and dropping her off as the Jackson Outlet Stores are about 5 miles further south on this same road (Route 537) and the Freehold Raceway Mall is about 5 miles to the North on this same road too.
  11. 2010 Milan Premier V6-3.0 2000 miles on the odometer. 2 day trip - roughly 375 miles total. Averaged 28 MPG and saw that using cruise control on the super slab I was getting right around 32. A/C was on the whole trip. That's not bad for a motor with this much power. I'm happy!
  12. Congrats on the new car Sonic very nice! Maenpaa. what kind of mileage are you getting with the 2.5L? I just came back from a several day business trip with my 3.0 V6 and got an average of 28 mpg. If I set the cruise control out on the highway, I get roughly 32 mpg out there on the super slab. Thats not bad for a V6 with this much power to it. Makes me happy!
  13. I had some bone jarring hard shifts happening occasionally between second and third gear I believe (it may have actually been first to second?) and that was without really pressing hard on the accelerator pedal. The motor would be allowed to seemingly over-rev in second and then slam into third, snapping your head back as it did so. The car had 1600 miles on it and had done that 2-3 times already, mostly just when I was leaving my street, so fairly cold (although it's summer and ambient temps are in the 80s). I took mine to the dealer who kept the car for 3 days and claim that the software was already all up to date. They also claim that the fluid was a little low and said they made some minor adjustments (which I don't necessarily believe) but that I should just drive the car until it's first scheduled maintenance interval. So far, it hasn't done it again but then too I haven't used the car since except for a two day business trip. On that trip the tranny behaved pretty nicely, closer to what I would fully expect from a brand new car. I still say the new 6-speed transmissions are "squirrely" at best though. Aside from the tranny problems (that I hope are now all gone) this seems to be a pretty nice, comfortable car with plenty of power (3.0 - V6). Poor transmission performance or longevity could turn the car into a nightmare though, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
  14. It's going to be a Saturday night in August. Will plan to pick a firm date by mid-July. Thanks for everyone's interest.
  15. The leather portions are coated anyway so you only need a general interior cleaner for the seats anyway. The leather itself is sealed so whatever you are using on the vinyl surfaces should work just fine on the seats too. It's really more like Pleather then leather.
  16. I highly doubt there is any difference at all to the amount of sound deadening materials used in these identical cars. The "ride, drive and feel" is a perceived quality that is implied by the sales pitch, nothing more.
  17. I like my new Milan, I honestly do. I just hope the transmission shifting problems I am having clear up. other then that, the only improvement I would have liked are more comfortable padded seats. I'll likely be buying this car out after the lease is up in another 3 years. By then, the remake of the fusion should be availble and that may be of new interest to me at that time. As for the Buick regal, I just like the looks of the car and think that GM is on the come back trail with similar cars.
  18. I got my car back from the dealers shop today as well. They had it for two full days. They claim that they were able to replicate my complaint and also said they tried a new car off their lot with the same results. They then called the factory who told them to have me drive the car because the transmission needs to learn. (whatever that means?) I just hope it learns quick before it kills itself or my wallet after the warranty expires and I own this car. They also claim they made some minor adjustments to the tranny and topped off the fluid which they said was a tad low. We'll see how it goes.. They told me to just drive it until the first service interval which is 7500 miles and then see how it is. I hope it gets better because this thing honestly could snap your head back against the headrest when shifting some times and feels like you got hit from behind while sitting still. It's an impressive machine, I gotta tell ya....
  19. Yea, (not sure I believe you) but with GM's much better warranty, I won't have to worry about it. Remember my car is a Company lease that I get to buy out after roughly 3 years at greatly reduced cost equaling about 35% of trade in value. That's why I upgraded the car to begin with some what. But who wants the car if it's got a bad tranny and no warranty when I get it? The GM warranty statement says allot about their cars. Ford's 3/36 also speaks volumes. It says 'good luck!!"
  20. I'd rather have a Buick Regal. The tranny in my Milan is already causing problems and slamming into 3rd occasionally and the car (with less then 2000 miles) is already days in the dealers shop. Therefore, no I wouldnit replace it with a Ford Fusion either. If I had to get another Ford, it would likely be another new Escape V6 - 4WD. But if I really had a choice, I would definitely go with a GM. Just being honest..
  21. My new Milan (3.0-V6) has been giving me problems when cold (if thats possible in the heat of summer?) and could give you whiplash because it over-revs in second and then really slams into third gear, and this without really pushing on the throttle hard at all. Took it into a Mercury Dealer yesterday who said te software was already up to date so they opted to keep my car for a few days to test it. Personally, I feel these transmissions just plain suck as I have also experienced a few times of no acceleration (or hesitation) too. These trannys could be the down-fall of an otherwise pretty good car.
  22. Ditto! Your car came in and someone connected to the dealership took it instead. Nobody blows the order like you described.
  23. Had a friend of mine use the USB port and cord to charge his iphone and afterwards my SYNC stopped recognizing my ipod. haven't had time to play with it but there is a definite disconnect now....
  24. Are you kidding? They may well expand in Mexico, not cut back. Too many regulations in Michigan and the USA for that matter. More will be coming from Mexico, not less. Just enough to claim they are still an American Company will be built here. Funny thing as my closest L/M dealership just expanded by building a brand new service center on adjacent property they purchased. The A-Holes didnt have the sense to connect the driveways to the dealership though and the service center needs to be accessed by a totally different route and highway even though they are literally side by side. Had to be a zoning problem to cause that as no one could be that stupid. (Stupid zoning idiots then!)
  25. Who (today) keeps a car for 8 years?? (Nobody I know of)
