  1. Well I for one will benefit from this. My buyout price from my Company leased Milan will be that much less in another 3 years. Giddy up!!
  2. Oh, there's no doubt that they thought of ever possibly ramification to this and are quite ready for the fall out. I am betting this is "for real" and Mercury is dead within 5 years if not sooner. That's good for me as when I get to buy out this current car from my Company, the book value will be less because of this. Mercury could have al least had different color options then their Ford cousins, but no. Today, nothing sets the Mercury apart from the Ford except a few hundred dollar premium.
  3. If so, it may just back-fire on FOMOCO because rumors like this may well turn potential buyers away from Mercury (to Ford or even other brands) knowing or rather thinking that the car they considered buying could soon be a relic. Nobody wants to own one of those.
  4. I mean, what's the difference anyway. Mercury for years is nothing more then a rebadged Ford with minor changes to the grill area and tail lights. It's no big deal as I see it. After all, it's basically the same exact car or SUV except at a $500 increase in list price. Let them invest in Lincoln.
  5. Do I have to wait to actually receive the "TSB number 10B15" before I can schedule an appointment or will they do the fix without it in my hands? I just took my brand new 2010 Milan on a long road trip and had a couple of really hard shifts just leaving my house (this last trip). The 6-speed tranny is best described (by me) as "squirrely" and you never know what you're gonna' get (or not) when you step on the accelerator pedal. I'd like to get this fixed sooner rather then later...
  6. Took my new Milan on it's second long trip and leaving my house I had two hard shifts that snapped my head back a little bit. Felt like I was rear-ended by another car. After that is began shifting more normally again but this 6-speed tranny is squirrely, that's for sure. Some times you step on the gas and get hardly anything. Glad to hear theire's a fix coming.
  7. No MXM4s here! Just took delivery of my 2010 Milan Premier and found it interesting that the OE Tires are Michellin Energy Saver A/S (Green X) tires. I would have thought these would be reserved for Hybrid models but here they are on my 3.0 V6 (Ride quality is pretty good IMO) Energy™ Saver A/S Passenger Car/Minivan Tire All-Season Tires Up to 8% more fuel-efficient than standard tires to save you money EnergySaver Construction™, combined with a special type of tread rubber, keeps the tire cooler - helping your engine to improve its fuel efficiency. Stops up to 8 feet shorter for added safety Silica-based unique tread rubber compound provides all-season traction and no-compromise stopping performances to keep you safe without trading fuel efficiency. Reduces CO2 emissions as much as planting 40 trees Lower rolling resistance requires less effort from your engine and helps reduce harmful CO2 emissions from your vehicle. -
  8. Try a "Shout" wipe. You won't over saturate the spot using a pre-moistened wipe and Shout works pretty well. Should be perfect for headliners.
  9. Bummer... I see both airbags deployed? Was your passenger ok? You mentioned being stiff afterwards. Forget about the damage to your car. Just be happy if you and your occupants didn't get hurt. The car can always be replaced. Looks to me like it's going to be repairable. The tranny could be a simple linkage problem. If no real frame damage, that's not too bad then. I'm guessing $7 to $9K for the estimate.
  10. Google is great, isn't it! Yesterday I googled how to transfer all my stored waypoints from my old Garmin GPS to my brand new Garmin GPS and that is something you will not find instructions for at Garmin's website. Yea I had to download some software but the instructions I found had me all done in under 15 minutes. Love googling problems...
  11. 30 psi OK but 25 and 20 psi especially is going to affect handling without question. That could even be dangerous if you ever need to maneuver in an emergency.
  12. That's nothing!~ I just took a 1000 mile trip in a brand new spanking Milan with the 3.0 V6 in it and averaged 27.6 MPG with the stereo blasting and the a/c running full time. Not too shabby considering I had all the power I needed and I'm not a light-foot by no means. Just wait till that motor actually gets broken in!!
  13. But on the bright side, it's the "place to be" if you've got gurgling noises coming from your I-4 cooling system!!
  14. Yea, I know that feeling...

That's just wrong.... People are jealous when they do things like that. They can't have it so they don't want you to enjoy it either. I hope Kharma kicks their azz......
  16. Just did a 1000 mile business trip and didn't notice any fluctuations. I listened to Sirius most of the time and occasionally to my ipod via the USB connection and sync. Something like the fluctuation you described would drive me nuts, especially in a new car and really especially in a new car I paid good money to upgrade the stereo in, (which is definitely over-hyped as far as overall quality and power too.) I think they're doing away with the Sony system for 2011 according to the 2011 order guide.
  17. Ditto! I wanted the old merlot color and was disappointed it was no longet available for 2010 wheh I ordered mine a few months ago. It figures that a nice new similar color is coming out for 2011. Oh well, I'll be ready for a new car just about when Ford does a total redesign again which I heard is in another 3 years?
  18. You can hardly even see a difference between the Tuxedo Black and Atlantis green, except in the brightest sunlight so there is no difference as far as dirt. The green looks black, even on cloudy days so let that guide your choice. I myself am partial to the Tuxedo Black but also liked the suede white too. in 2011 there will be a few new colors to include a new blue and a burgundy type of deep red. Good luck with your choice.
  19. Congrats!! Nice color choice if I do say so myself and I fully agree with you that the Sony system is "lacking" credibility.
  20. [Just one question for you jake123, Where do you live? (because I want to be sure no one I know accidentally buys your car used from you.) :hysterical2:
  21. Tires don't state "running pressure" they state the "maximum pressure" and are rated for their speed rating, knowing they will heat up and increase in pressure as you drive. The maximum pressure is not the recommended running pressure and that info is typically specified by the car manufacturer and in the case of Ford, put right on the door sill in plain view. The recommended pressure assumes the tires will heat up and increase on their own, so no need to compensate and deflate for heated expansion pressure. it is this fluctuation in pressure that causes more wear then had the tires remained constant and that's one reason why inflating with Nitrogen is so beneficial. Nitrogen filled tires will reduce heat and keep pressure constant, prolonging tire wear and lessening chances of blow outs too. Not to mention an inprovement in fuel mileage as well. Tires should never be adjusted hot or warm even.
  22. I am running 35-36 psi in my Milan and that's a few pouinds above the recommended 33 on the door sil. I ran the same tire pressure on my Ford Escape in Continental tires and they wore like iron, getting over 60K on them before I replaced them (just becuase I could, not because they need to be.) They still had lots of legal thread left and the wear was even. I think a few pounds over prolongs tire life, not hinders it.
  23. Congrats on your new car. What year is it? It's obviouisly not a new car as no one would be looking to alter the exhaust on a new 4-door Mercury Milan.
  24. You had better read the "water sloshing" thread before you consider buying the I-4 motor. You can't miss it, it's about 30 some pages long now. http://www.fordfusionforum.com/index.php?/topic/3085-2010-fusion-sloshing-sound-when-first-driven/page__pid__26664__st__580entry26664 I love my 3.0 V6. Plenty of power and decent gas mileage too. I think the ride would be very similar to the I-4 (if you block out all sound and judge strictly by ride quality) and the bigger difference would come if you test drove the Sport model because there, there are suspension changes and different wheel / tires too.
  25. Yea, I did the same. My interior is two tone dark grey and beige and the floor in the car is grey. I went with black liners too and they look good and blend very well. The grey liners may have been too light of a grey. By eye, the black matches up pretty well although by photograph the camera seems to see a bigger contrast. The interior grey is closer to a dark grey. I relly like the coverage you get with the Husky liners, especially on the driver side up under the pedals. Wish I had known this before I bought the Weathertechs.
