  1. Forum members and even pure lurkers are still in the great minority of people who are current / potential new owners though and Ford likley knows that too. We don't nearly carry as much "clout" as you may think. Case in point, this thread and it's overlaying issue can ONLY be found here on this one forum. It' isnt even a matter or concern over on the bigger Ford Fusion Club forum and thus, is barely on anyones radar. It may be a big issue for you guys posting here with the problem but in the grand scheme of things, it barely registers noting by Ford. That's just the honest truth and you are naive if you believe otherwise.
  2. Ditto - What he said! Nice choice and Congrats!
  3. fusionff, How much were the Husky liners? What made you get black in a beige interior? Do they come in other colors? They definitely look like they have much better coverage though. But yea, they look like they'd be harder to get out to clean again without spilling the contents too. Looks like Weathertech can learn a thing or two from Husky.
  4. I'm not so sure about all that. I host all my photos on www.photobucket.com (for free) and post the links here and can post as many photos as I want here. Where are you hosting your photos?
  5. Car looks Great! Covers are a great addition to it. Where did you get the Hood Bra? Please post a photo of the car head on so we can get a better picture of that new grill too. Nice job!
  6. I think they took a quick lesson from Toyota and didnt want any potential problems or claims of stuck accelerators due to moving floor mats. One button can act as a pivot point, but two buttons will firmly hold the mat straight and in place. I myself think this is important however the Weathertech Floor Liners are so molded to the shape and contour of the floor, I doubt it will ever move out of place. I just wish it had more floorboard coverage over the "dead pedal" area on the left as others here have mentioned. You can see in my photos above how prone it will be to get grit and slush over the top and behind it with your left foot. maybe the Husky liners are better in this regard? Let's see what FusionFF says when he gets his Husky liners delivered.
  7. Why not just avoid this potential problem all together and opt for the 3.0 V6? (Unless you were thinking Hybrid.) But then you'd have to worry about the tranny and it's problems so maybe look at the Sport with the 3.5 and different tranny? or maybe look at Hyundai instead. (that's what I would do.)
  8. Actually, I had that backwards. my new 2010 Milan came with TWO buttons to hold the mat in place and my new Weathertech Liner only had ONE and didn't line up. - - (I am simply amazed how much "dirt" a camera can pick up that the human eye fails to see. I was shocked to see all this dirt on my new floor liners already. maybe a camera just magnifys it or something....) I'd love to see decent photos of the Husky Liners. Do they offer better coverage??
  9. I got the Weathertech floor liners and I love them so far. The only problem is the original floor mat had only one hook on the floor and the weathertech came with two holes for hooks and neither line up so it's unusable that way. (WRONG- see below post!) To me it doesn't matter though because the liner itself fits like a glove and isn't going to move anywhere. You can kind of see by the picture I took just how well (and snug) these liners fit. My only other observation is that I wanted to lay the stock carpeted mats over the top for better comfort and appearance but the stock carpets slide around really bad on top of the liners. I would love to find some carpeted mats that will actually grip to the liners slippery plastic surface so that I could use them 2 or 3 seasons out of the year. If anyone has a non slippery carpeted mat that works, please do let me know what brand and model to get.
  10. NJbudman and FusionFF Keep an eye on the link in my signature as we're going to hold a New jersey meet & greet gathering later this summer. Most likely in July or August on a saturday evening. Hope you both can plan to make it!
  11. Isn't that what any Fusion / Milan is? (daily driver) It's a four door Ford man. Nobbody buys one to keep under a cover in a garage. Congrats on your new car. Ever try a good beer like a Sam Adams lager? (j/k)
  12. Are you guys sure it's not the "Automatic Volume Control" that kicking in and messing with your heads? Try lowering the AVC (or whatever it's called by Ford) and see what happens. Heck, I even have that on my Harley and it works like a charm while riding.
  13. Rodeo

    the wait is over

Gorgeous man, those stock 17" wheels are really starting to grow on me. Nice choice.. I wanted red at first but later on the Tux Black won out. Good luck with it!
  14. A fellow New Jerseyan and member of the Ford Fussion Clud forum recommended that I try "denatured alcohol" which I finally had a chance to do today. Worked like a charm and I had all the gunk off in less then a minute. It's like miracle cleaner after struggling with both "goo gone" and "bug and tar" remover for close to an hour. I'll never be without a can of this stuff in my garage ever again. DENATURED ALCOHOL :happy feet:
  15. I'll bet she made lots of "friends" that day huh? I hope for her sake that she was cute looking at least. (I'm sure she is.)
  16. At least none of the buttons and controls are hidden in front of the "shifter" like on the Fusion / Milan. (heated seats, ambient lights etc.)
  17. Something tells me in his case, it's really going to be "break" :hysterical2:
  18. I haven't noticed that yet, but then again I haven't driven my car much at all since bringing it home less then a week ago. I can say though without a doubt that the 12 speaker Sony 390 watt system is a true disappointment. Nothing special about the sound, nor power either. I think my Ford Escape has a better system (audiophile) with better bass for sure. I sure hope I don't find there are other problems too....
  19. Take some better photoso with a digital camera (not your phone) and keep them in your records so you can show what the damage looked like that was repaired. That should put potential buyers at ease.
  20. "My Bad" - that explains it.....
  21. Is this a new option? I thought the only upgrade from the 6-speaker stock radio was the 12 speaker Sony system? (Not impressed with the Sony system now that I actually have it.)
  22. Here's two photos. The first shows the spatter still on the window glass and that same spatter was all over the paint right below the molding there, about as long as the quarter window is itself. Had to work my arse off rubbing that all off with a kitchen sponge and bug & tar remover. It's about 95% better now after working on each side for a good half hour each. I still need to get the glass itself clean, perhaps with a razor blade. It wasn't on the molding though which says it was sprayed on before the molding was placed. Then I spotted the section under the doors in between the door seams. Looks to be the same goop, whatever it is. This is more then little dots of spatter and will take much more work to remove. That's why I'm looking for something better to dissolve it. Thus far, I am not impressed with the build quality of the Fusion . Milan out of Mehico. No quality car built by anybody else would have this carelessness about it. -
  23. OK, When I picked up my new car on Thursday from the Stealer - Dealer, it was filty as all heck. This being a fleet lease, the dealer salesman told me point blank that they don't care and all they do is deliver the car to me regardless of condition. of course I did a walk around before signing for it but now that I've had it home for a few days I found a few issues. Today I washed and waxed the car in my garage. I found some type of sealant / glue? black colored overspray on the paint under each rear quarter window (on the sill mostly, above the rear door handle) and a big area of drippage between the front and rear door on one side, on the bottom sill. I tried 'goo gone" to no avail and finally resorted to "Bug and Tar" remover and worked my arse off to get the window sill areas pretty clean, but not nearly 100% clean. Now that I spotted the bigger area at the bottom of the doors, I can envision the work it will take to get that fairly clean too. Anyone else deal with this overspray on their cars and find a better answer to removal? It seems to be some type of sealer for installing the windows or moldings, or rubber gaskets maybe. All I know is nothing seems to want to cut it and dissolve it away. it's definitely on top of the clear coat and feels like hard rubber dots. (looks that way too.) Good thing it blends in pretty well with the Tuxedo Black paint or it would really look bad. I've already lodged a complaint to the leasing company about the dealershp because of their (I could care less) attitude upon delivery and the fact that the car was not even washed for me. In case anyone is wondering, it's Weisleder Lincoln Mercury in Brick, NJ and I wouldn't ever buy anything from them because of their attitude.
  24. It's a nice feature to have and use especially if you travel allot like me and you're on a thruway somewhere where the "service areas" are a known entity (Service area 1 mile ahead - next service area 25 miles) so you can better plan your stops for refueling and bathroom breaks too. It's not uncommon for me to do 400-450 mile daily jaunts and having this fuel meter is a convenience for sure. Likewise when you're in unfamiliar territory where you aren't sure when the next gas station will be found, it gives you a little peace of mind knowing how far you can go (roughly speaking) before you need to panic and search out a gas station. Gas gauges are notoriously inaccurate (historically) and the needle drops slowly from full to mid range but get down to a quarter tank and the gas seems to just evaporate quickly. That's why the other gauge is helpful some times.
  25. A "link" to the article would be nice.....
