    Another Noob

Congrats! Hey, consider yourself lucky! Mine won't be in until almost mid-May so two or three days is really nothing at all. Love the Tuxedo Black!
  2. Here's the Grey in monochrome: http://www.fordfusionclub.com/index.php?topic=163609.0 P.S. I don't think the Atlantis green is available with the Monochrome Appearance Package. That is only available on the Red Candy (or older Sangria Red if you can locate one), Blue, Tuxedo Black or Sterling Grey. The Green is however an available color on the Sport Model though, sans monochrome grill though.
  3. Monochrome Appearance Package? Sure... I took these photos of the Red, Blue and Black with Monochrome grill. http://www.fordfusionclub.com/index.php?topic=163790.0
  4. (My opinion only) The electronics on these cars will not last nearly as long as your 1991 Plymouth Sundance did. You're lucky if it outlives the warranty. That stuff is bound to crap out in a few years at best. BUT that being said, only YOU can determine how much the option could be used and valued. Like the poster above, I use both side mirrors whenever backing and I didn't order the "electronics package" on my new car. Just wait till you look into buying updated maps for your built in NAV... (cough) LOL
  5. Oh c'mon now.. After all, it's Motor Trend's "Car of the Year" and besides, FORD has flooded the market with really snazzy TV commercials. What's not to like!
  6. Or something small like a cracked weld on the sub-frame.........
  7. The 3.5 liter Sport has conventional belt driven hydraulic power steering and the 3.0 and 4 cylinder have electric power steering. All probably have hoses though, as even the electric driven is probably a hydraulic system, so would utilize hoses.
  8. I would have been really surprised to hear anything different. Why add extra sensors that arent really needed. Who cares if you have a passenger or not. Apparently FORD thinks this way too. (And its the way it should be anyway.)
  9. I'm calm enough but after having asked the question twice on different day, I thought that the third time needed to be bigger / bolder so as not to be over looked again. Wow, if it is different motors then that almost excludes it being engine related then huh? That would be one of the first things I'd want to know. 4 Cyl, V6, Hybrid all with a similar complaint? Gotta look at what cooling components are common between them then. Radiator etc? Anyway, I'd wanna keep track of what motors this is happening to as well besides just collecting VIN numbers.
  10. OK, for the third time now (without reading 17 pages) WHAT MOTORS does this seem to happen to? Any V6s??
  11. Two quick questions: If this problem is wide-spread, why isn't the topic also listed over at the other bigger Fusion Furum? http://www.fordfusionclub.com/index.php (Or is it and did I miss it?) Two, without reading 17 pages to find out, WHAT MOTORS specifically is this anomoly happening to? Any V6s? AND, when trying to figure out what percentage of Fusions have this problem, consider too that 9 out of 10 (possibly much higher, like 98 out of 100) Fusion Owners do not belong to or frequent Fusion Forums and may not know this problem is shared by others. Just something to consider. Ford nor your Dealer will ever admit to others having the same symptoms, that's just human (and business) nature.
  12. On the 2010 model year cars, I am guessing here but I'll bet that all these cars have the exact same headliner and pillar covering and it is intended to be very very neutral in color. Some are interpreting the color to be light beige and some are seeing it as a very light grey. All in all though, its the same on every car regardless of model or color choice inside. One headliner fits all, it just makes cost saving sense.... That would be my guess based upon all the 2010 Fusion and Milan's I've looked at and test driven.
  13. Quite a helpful thread! THANKS!!
  14. You mean, sor'ta like no longer having a "gas cap" on your car?
  15. How "low end" can those Michelin Pilot's be (MXM4s) because they're close to $200 a piece if Im not mistaken from the Tire Rack? Normally yes, Car manufacturers put on very inexpensive (ok-cheap) tires as OE fitment and the Fusion Sport is just such an example. That is fitted with Gooryear Eagle RS-As and are worth about $68 a piece. I don't have my Milan yet but was hoping those Michelin's would be decent rubber. As a side note, my current ride is a 2007 Ford Escape and that came fitted with Continental Conti-Tracs and they wore like IRON. I didn't replace them until 60,000 miles and they still had plenty of (more then legal) tread left on them. I really liked how they wore and how they handled dry AND snow covered roads too, even deep snow although I did have 4WD. No complaints except they are known for generating road noise, which is their one weakness. Anyway, I did replace them with another new set of the same tire, except I got blackwalls this time. For the price, they last forever...
  16. It's not too late. He's questioning (second guessing) his motor / model choice and to answer his own question he can simply go test drive a car with the other motor. Test drive both motors on the same day and do your own comparison. It may be too late to change his mind but he can still satisfy his own curiosity and drive a Sport anyway just to see what it's like. Akirby, I agree with you that the new 3.0 V6 is no slouch and will be "fine" for many consumers. Only those who are true performance enthusiasts will pine for the 3.5 Sport but then again, many true enthusiasts will likely bypass a four door Ford sedan anyway in that quest. I'll be due for yet another new car about the time the next generation is released. I can't wait!
  17. Is this problem limited to just the I-4 motors? I didn't read the entire thread (my bad).
  18. If you haven't, you should definitely test drive both for yourself! The 3.0 is older yes but is a work horse motor used in several vehicles still today. For 2010 it has increased HP and Torque too, to 240 ponies and 223 lb. pounds of torque. I myself just ordered the 3.0 V6 and will be quite happy with it's performance. I currently have an older 3.0 that was 200 HP only. The 3.5 is rated for 263 ponies and 249 torque and is quicker in all regards. It is also a tad smoother too and a tad heavier. Both motors get similar fuel mileage, roughly 18 city 27 highway, give or take 1 mpg. As for the tranny, I believe both motors use the same exact transmission, a select shift 6-speed automatic. The "Sport" is not a loaded car and the SEL has more standard equipment included. The big difference is power passenger seat, heated seats, and heated mirrors. With the SEL those are all standard but not on the Sport. The Sport obviously has a sport tuned suspension and different wheels / tires on it too. You can order the suspension / tire - wheel upgrade on the SEL in the form of an "Appearance Package" that lists for about $900 more. Drive them both is my opinion and make up your own mind which motor you prefer. Good luck!
  19. I liked the 3-bar grill on the Fusion but the Milan front end has really grown on me as a nice classy look. It's a dressy car and about the only thing I dont like are the shape of the tail lights and the fact that those tail light and trunk seams don't align very well. The tail lights are however LEDs for 2010 so that is nice too. As for the seats, This is the same exact interior albeit with a dressier appearance. The seats are essentially the same in overall size and shape and it's just the panels inside the seat that are shaped differently. As for feel, I myself felt no difference between the Fusion or Milan leather seats. These two toned "Medium Light Stone" seats are only available on the higher end Milan Premier or the Hybrid model. I loved these seats when I first test drove a Milan Premier months ago and wanted them right from the get go. They add so much to the car in my opinion. Normally I dislike two toned interiors but this one just works and works nicely at that. This is a Hybrid w/ Hybrid specific wheels. My wheels are shown above in the first post. I won't have a spoiler on my Milan though and didn't want one. The integral lights in the spoiler look cheap in my opinion. (On the Milan, no so on the Fusion.)
  20. It's a top end loaded vehicle. I'm sure I will enjoy it! Thanks!!
  21. Was planning on getting a 2010 Fusion SEL for my new Company Car and today I finally received the order info to log on and place my order. I was all set to get an SEL-V6 with Moon & Tune and a few other goodies. Upon going through the process, the first thing I found out that since this is a "fleet lease vehicle" that Leather Seats are not standard and the cost was another $1000 (rounded) to add Leather. Then the bad news! There was no option to order the "appearance package" and not even the Moon & Tune that I really wanted. I then looked at the Milan Premier V6 and that had the leather seats as standard. So far so good! On this car I was able to also order Moon & Tune so thats what I got. (I gave a bad review of the Milan earlier on another forum mainly because of the tail light seams but I have decided just to live with that.) I ordered: 2010 Milan Premier 200A (base) 3.0 V6 Tuxedo Black exterior Medium Light Stone Leather interior (two tone) Moon & Tune pkg. Reverse Sensing System Remote Start I like the wheels on the Milan Premier allot and this is a loaded car to include heated seats, heated mirrors, power seats (both), Foglights, Sync and all the goodies. Anyone care to guess what the lead time will be for delivery? Our website said there is an unknown delay due to te 3.0 V6 motor? I heard something like 10-12 weeks. -
  22. Ford does this amid the Toyota meltdown in hopes the Ford problems pale in comparison to Toyotas (which it does) and doesnt tarninsh the FFH as badly as it might or could. One thing about Toyota, you can bet the ranch that Toyota will be a high quality car to buy once again in the near future. One photo of the CEO of Toyota "bowing" was enough to convince me of that. 2011 Toyotas will be top quality. Car Companies are all the same though and they live in denial until the economics of a repair or recall make it the right route to pursue financially. Whatever hurts them less is what they do, regardless of injury to the buyers / owners / drivers. Thats one thing the Japanese have learned well from the American Car Companys.
  23. Just wondering if anyone had the opportunity to check out the sound quality difference between the stock SE 6-speaker set up versus the Sony 12 speaker upgrade? I myself don't really want a moonroof and the only way to get the Sony set up is in a package with a moonroof. So, I was wondering if the stock radio would be good enough. Anyone make that comparison already? If so, opinions appreciated. (Yes, I will also need to go listen for myself too.)
  24. Good for you! I myself always liked the "looks" of the TL through the years. I'll bet it's a great car too. Good luck with it.
