  1. By the time I leave my subdivision my 2011Equinox is putting out heat. The hybrid needs at least three times that distance with some at 55mph. I think that is unacceptable. Even letting it do it's thing it don't/won't run on battery in 10 degree weather relieablely for many miles.
  2. Is my wife's Hybrid the only one so cold blooded? If left on automatic it takes forever before you hear the heater fan come on or at least to a higher speed.
  3. Leather is most likely made like a chicken McNugget, all the leather scraps are molded into leather and then wrapped around the wheel.
  4. We will have had this Hybrid for 2 years this coming Oct. and have had the dash display reset itself for the 3rd time during this 2 year period. I haven't read anything in quite a while on this problem and wonder if Ford ever came up with a fix. Has anyone found an answer to this problem. I know it isn't much of a problem only doing it 3 times but in the back of my mind will this become a big problem and cause us to end up beside the road someday?
  5. Yes I do have a problem. I wear 2 hearing aids, but my point is my HHR I used to have and my current Equinox both have those features on cars that sticker for 3k and 10k less than the Fusion. The hybrid is supposed to be a high end model when ordered with all the toys but take away the hybrid part and it isn't even close to being high end in my humble opinion.
  6. No still poor design. There is no reason they couldn't have designed them to be hidden. Many cars are that way now but with people with low standards there is no reason to step up to the plate. Same reason they don't display tire pressure on dash or signal when the turn signal is still on like my cheap HHR does.
  7. Thanks for all the replies. You are all right and mine is between the marks. So what it boils down to is poor design.
  8. The right side wiper does Not hide under the hood like the left side does. Should it be this way ( I hope not) or hidden like the left side is. I see it each time I drive wife's car and it bugs me, her on the other hand as long as it has gas and oil she don't pay attention.
  9. If you want to play the grown up game of buying a car then like the married person who have kids you need to learn how to say NO and mean it. If you can't I suggest you get someone else to be there on the next buying experience. Oh and by the way I also pitty your kids if you can't say NO.
  10. Now I had the opposite experience with Auto Owners. When my HHR was totaled out I got on line and got quotes from the 3 biggies online, Kelly, Edmunds and NADA. My insurance came in $900 higher than the best quote from those others. It sure surprised me as I was ready to do battle.
  11. I'm 6'3" 275 and I've been driving mine for a year+ 2years in Oct. I've no problem and I live in Mi. Trunk sucks but great mileage.
  12. Is there a way to put it in auto using the touch screen?
  13. I still have the orginals that came on the car. Never had a problem so I wonder if you haven't picked up something that have stuck to the blades or what. I'd just get some at Wally World name brands and give them a try. Shouldn't cost over about $10 and if they work fine, if not you can then cross the blades off your list of what would be causing your problem.
  14. Since you have tried everything on the windshield my suggestion would be to replace the wipers as they are most likely the problem. Be sure to clean windshield again before using them as ours works great without a problem.. As far as the wax from car washes, I doubt it as if so there would be millions of people all over the country complaining about that. I have had many vehicles and all have gone through car washes weekly for more than 25 years without a problem.
  15. could it be the special funnel to fill the gas tank if you are stuck along side the road?
  16. my wife had the non start problem 3 times and finally told her next time don't touch it and let me see. She called me to the garage and there was no green light. I twisted the key to start and all was well. I showed her how she did it and each time the check engine light came on because she didn't twist it to the start spot. She hasn't had the problem since.
  17. Yes, as soon as they step on the brake to put the tranny in gear the engine dies. I'm sure there are other safe guards too.
  18. Posted in the wrong forum. Try again and you will get a bigger group of people to help you out.
  19. Or just maybe you could join the rest of the world and come in out of the cold and get just a tad tech smart. You may just like it.
  20. I've had both black and white cars, a number of black including the hybrid we have now and I can tell you I think it is much easier to keep the black clean. On those hot summer days driving down the freeway and when you stop take a look at the white with all the little black poka dots of tar on it. Gets real bad around the wheel wells. I'm not saying black cars don't get them too, but at least I don't see them and they can wait till I do the fall wax before winter. Someone here a few months ago was complaining about his white car. It seems the special white paint costs an arm and a leg to repair. Black matches without any trouble and doesn't fade plus after a couple of hours of waxing my white car I could barely tell the difference from when I started. When I wax the black car I know right away plus I can see where I left off on the wax job and don't have to guess like I do when we had a white car. One was enough for me. I take the black car to the auto wash weekly and drive it. Thats all.
  21. If you over ride it by manually turning on the temp for the passenger side you can set it just like if you have a passenger. Also just because you have a passenger you have to still turn it on the first time after driving without someone sitting in the seat.
  22. So true, I always just rip of their sticker and go by the display. When it gets to about 50% I check the mileage to see how far I have came and what the weather has been since last oil change. Then I make my own decision.
  23. It is my understanding is if you don't turn on pass. side it is still on at the same temp as drivers side. Only reason to turn on pass. side is if you want a different temp then driver. I have turned mine on and set it for 70 while leaving mine on 72 which does seem to cool it a little more without the cold draft blowing out my side vents.
  24. I guess I'd also have to wonder what else they didn't do. Maybe you should bring it to their attention and ask them how do I know you did the other stuff I paid for.
