  1. I've bought a Sport AWD version for multiple reasons : 1- The look and color (I got the blue one). I really liked the back half of the car and side look because it reminded me a lot of a Ford Falcon wich I like a lot. 2- The interior looked really nice (leather and all) 3- When I tried the car, I fell in love with the way it drives. Just enough power, confortable enough, yet sporty enough. 4- Of course, the AWD. Since I live Montreal, the AWD is a must for the winters. I've named reasons, but overall, I just really liked the car (I've never owned a Ford before). I've owned the car for 4 months now and I really like it. The quality is up there. Before this car, I owned a 2007 Mazda CX7 AWD and I had a TON of problems with it. One thing I like about the SUV though was the AWD during the winters. After getting 15 inches of snow today over Montreal, I can say this to you : the AWD of the Fusion blows the Mazda's out of the water. Today, in heavy snow, I was driving along side Subaru's WRX like it was nothing, they had nothing on my Fusion in this heavy snow. The CX7 was using too much anti-slip, but this car has a very well balanced AWD system. I'm told that they used the Escape's AWD in the Fusion. Anyway, I don't have anything bad to say about this car. I just really love it and hope that the quality last so I can enjoy this car for years to come.
  2. I bought a 2010 Fusion Sport about a month ago and let me tell you, it's a great car! The car is sporty enough (18" wheels, sport suspension, 265 HP, AWD, lower body kit, stiched leather, etc). Yet, it's a very confortable car for everyday driving and long travels. I am really in love with this car and just can't find anything really wrong with it... It's a blast to drive, looks great (I have the Sport Blue)...and I'm surprised to say this, but it's an eye catcher! Everybody...EVERYBODY is telling me how good this car looks. The paint job and the body lines/kit catches everyones eye. If you want to get a great Fusion, I highly recommend the Sport Fusion is you can afford it. All of this comes from a guy who hated...HATED american cars before trying this one and buying it afterwards.
  3. So I guess now I've got to ask myself wich is best : - Buying winter tires and putting them on the original wheels (18 inch size) - Buying winter tires, buying 4 steel wheels, paying for 4 new sensors to put on those wheels (put some 17inch instead of 18inch...) Hum...I hate those damn steel wheels...they fuck up the look of the car so much for 5 months of the year...god... I think I'm gonna buy 235/45/R18 winter tires and just mount them every winter on the car's original wheels. Will keep the look of the car intact...probably will cost me more in the long run because I'll pay the mounting of the tires each year instead of only the first year... Got some thinking to do! Thanks for the info!
  4. Hi, my 2010 Fusion is the first car I have that has the TPMS system for tire pressure. My question is this : Can I still put my 17 inch rims for my winter tires without any problems? Do I have to install special TPMS valves on my rims too? If I do, can I still install my tires by myself or does the dealer have to do something with the computer to make the valves on the rims work with the car? Heck, my question is simple...what do I have to do to put my winter tires on rims with this car?
  5. The next installement of "Le Guide de l'Auto" wich is a book that comes out annually here in Quebec (Canada) gives many praises to the 2010 Ford Fusion and gets : - Hybrid car of the year (surprise!!! 2nd place is the Toyota Prius) - Mid-size Sedan of the year (don't remeber who is 2nd) The reviewers were very surprised how much better the 2010 Hybrid was compared to the Prius, specially when took into account the pleasure you get by driving the car compared to driving a Prius. The other models got mid-size sedan of the year because they thought that the Ford product got so much better the last couple of years and the 2010, for them, finally put them over the others usual winners (Honda Accord or Toyota Camry). One thing they noted that I thought was really interesting and that I also noted is that, compared to the others (Mazda, Toyota and Honda), the kept the Fusion to a good size car instead of making it bigger like the Accord/Camry/Mazda 6. They thought that it was smart on Ford's part to put the Taurus out there as the bigger model and keep the Fusion the smaller sedan while adding a Sport package and AWD that will appeal to a bigger audience. The "Guide de l'Auto" is a highly regarded book that comes out every year and people here listen very much to what they have to say because for years the Honda's and Toyota's have won in many categories and for the first time in...heck I don't even remember the last time it happened...Ford won a in car category. That's it, I just wanted to put the info out there!
  6. I'm telling you, the 2010 Ford Fusion is the most quiet car I've ever had. It's up there with my 2001 Nissan Maxima (wich is by far the best car I've ever owned...that thing was a tank). So, comparing this car to a Maxima, I think it's a very good compliment to Ford's product because the price tag ain't the same. I don't car what the windshield cost, this car is a blast! I just love it!
  7. That's what I figured, that's why I decided to wait until next summer. I'll ask around again and see what the price will be when the 2011 Ford Fusion's are out.
  8. To answer all questions...here it goes : - I did in fact scratch it with the metal frame of the squeegee (that's my guess)...or something was in the foam or whatever... - I did in fact leave before I noticed it because when in shade, I didn't see it, but once the sun was right into it, I saw it very clearly. - It's not really bad because the worst scratches are either on the left side ( right between the far left side of where the wiper blade goes further and the side of the windshield). The other scratches are in the blue layer on top of the windshield. There's one that is...somewhat annoying but it's not too bad. - I went to 3 places and they said all the same thing, for some reason, the 2010 version is very expensive, nothing they can do about it, it cost more for them to order it so... I will indeed wait to replace it because over here, winter is coming in 2-3 months and in the winter, you never know what can happen to the windshield with everything that is on the road (salting, rocks, etc)...but I will not be using the insurance since my wife scratched the last car I had before this one and we had to use the insurance for the repairs and that's 11 months ago, so 2 times in a year is a killer. I'd rather pay with my money... Anyway, I will wait later for the replacement, maybe the cost will go down in a year or so. I just wanted to give you guys a heads-up on this since I figured probably everyone would be surprised at the cost of these things... Of course, my prices are in canadian money, but these days, it's almost the same as american money...hehehe. Even if you figure 900-1000$ US for replacement, it's still not cheap for a windhsield.
  9. HI everyone, well...this really sucks... I scratched my brand new 2010 Fusion Sport's windshield with a damn squeegee from the gas station. So I went to a windshield replacement place where I live and let me tell you...I really hope none of you have to do this anytime soon! If some of you didn't know, I will tell you right now...this car's windshield is made of gold because it cost a FORTUNE!!!! Total for replacement : 1250$ Why? Because it's a special windshield for harmonics and solar protection. 2009 Fusion windshield replacement : 500$ 2010 Fusion windshield replacement : 1250$ Sickening... Still love this car though, but man..it hurts the pocket!!!
  10. I live in Montreal so I don't understand why it's not that popular since the AWD should be a big deal with the winters we get over here...there's not too many sport sedans that are AWD...at this price range of course. The first thing that made me want that car was that it reminded me or should I say, it's the car that looks like the most...an FPV Ford Falcon down in australia. I just love those FPV's and for once, there was a car that Ford sold over here that had the looks of an FPV (I think...). And, after that, the AWD was a big draw too. It's so usefull during winters over here... After that, I tried the car to get a feel of the quality and how much fun it was to drive and man...I was blown away at how much fun I had driving this car. I thought it was the perfect compromise between sporty feeling and comfort. Plus, the quality of the car surprised me. You have to understand that in Quebec, we have the reputation to be very big customers for japanese cars (Toyota and Honda) and VW always did big business over here with the Golf and Jetta. The last american car I owned was a 1997 Chevy Cavalier Z24 and it was one heck of a piece of crap...oh my god...that turned me off the american cars big time plus, Ford models really didn't interest me. But now, I think they are finally beginning to target the younger crowd with the makeover of all of their cars and trucks and they are finally not looking like cars for the older crowd. I'm 30 years old with no children, so I was not interested in driving a Taurus or a Five hundred you know...but with the new Fusion, especially the Sport model, I think it finally looks younger, feels younger and is a blast to drive. I sold my 2007 Mazda CX-7 GT for this car and I don't regret my decision (that truck was garbage...had so many problems with it, it's incredible...). I'll definitly be praising the Ford product from now on. As you can see...yes...I am pumped about this car...
  11. Hi people! I never thought I would say this but I'm a proud Ford owner. I just bought a brand new blue 2010 Fusion Sport AWD. I must say that this car just blew me away! I absolutly love it! My dealer told me that they aren't selling too many Sport Fusion because customers think that it's too expensive...but I gotta say, I think it's worth every penny!
