  1. Ford Cust Serv extended my powertrain warranty to 5 yrs/100,000 miles. Good since I drive a ton of miles, but since this failed after only 4.5 months of ownership, I told them I simply did not trust the car. I've owned a number of Fords that have been trouble free. This did not qualify as trouble free.
  2. It's a four cylinder. It will sound like a rice burner. A muffler won't make it sound like it has balls, but it will make it loud.
  3. Mine was similar. Required a new valve body, new forward clutches, and a month in the shop. Had it in this week and they flashed the ECU.
  4. Mine does it. The brake pad is shifting to and fro in the caliper. It's not a bad thing. In the past, the pad backing plate fit so tightly into the caliper that it could/would eventually get stuck and cause abnormal wear. The pad is a little undersized now, so it shifts when changing directions in the car. They won't fall out, because this would be impossible. No worries - just a little click, click here and there. The dealer service guy confirmed this is the case.
  5. I own a 2010 Ford Fusion - 2.5L 6 spd auto. Purchased Sept 21, 2010. Current mileage is 10,xxx miles. Trans started to slip, bang gears, wouldn't upshift - most probs at full throttle, but started doing this at part throttle too. Been in the air at the dealer for three weeks and found today that the fix is a new valve body that is currently awaiting engineering approval (per FoMoCo Cust Serv). New, redesigned part won't arrive until late April. FoMoCo is offering a warranty extension to ease my concern. I made it very clear I expect this to drive better than new. FWIW, the trans was sluggish to shift between P, D, R. If Ford is redesigning the valve body, this wasn't a bad batch. There are alot of failing Fusions out there.
  6. Just thought I'd throw my $0.02 in... Mine also sucks at dimming. If cars are within about 10 car lengths, it usually won't dim. If there are street lights, it seems to not wawnt to dim. A couple nights ago, it wouldn't dim for anything. Today, a truck with brights was blinding me at dusk and it wouldn't dim. I do prefer to have the switch and manually change it... like a sucker. I'm taking it in next week to have them look at it.
  7. SEL, I4, Auto - one month old today and 2400 or so miles. I second the gripe about the auto-dim mirror. I'd rather have control, because half the time it doesn't dim and I'm left driving blind! When the wipers are on intermittent, the relay gets noisy sometimes. Click, click, click as it cycles on and off. Not loud, but if the stereo isn't on, it's noticeable. Dealer says it's not a big issue and I agree, and I'm reluctant to let them tear into the dash for fear of the other noices that will be there afterward.
  8. No need to pay $895 for anything. In case you haven't heard, the indusyry is in a slump. Tell them what you'll pay for it.
  9. Well, Rodeo beat me to the punch. It was on the lot for almost a full day when I bought it. The color is very cool in person. The pictures don't pickup the metallic in it.
  10. Post #1... My company changed company car policy, so my '01 Exploder Sport wasn't going to qualify anymore. I bought a new ride... a '10 sterling grey metallic Fusion 2.5L SEL with the Sun 'n Sound package. I drive about 2400 miles/month, so I'm hoping this thing really sips the gas. The SYNC system is very HALish. Who'd think we'd be communicating with a computer like this, in a Ford no less? The level of cush in this car is unbelievable for a $25K car. It's very quiet, very smooth, and very comfortable to drive (although I'd like to hear how some not-so-slender body types are dealing with the seats). Way to go, Ford! -Keith
