  1. I have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid, Metallic Ice Blue. I noticed that a few spots of the paint has been rubbed off and can see the underlying grey primer beneath it. One is from a basketball hitting the front wheel well. I clearly see the print pattern of the ball on the paint and primer. The other looks like someone brushed against the door. In both cases the paint rubbed off and shows the primer below. Is it at all possible that the car did not get clear coated at the factory? Anyway to test if there is clear coat? It just looks like the paint came off way too easily and figure the clear coat should have prevented this. I also see an area near the wheel well where the paint is elevated as if tape was lined up along the edge and painted to prevent overspray. I have only waxed this car 3x with Meguire's Tech 2.0 (no abrasives). Thanks, Lance
  2. I've had this click with my 2010 fusion. Turned out to be the passenger side wiper blade. The rubber portion that contacts the windshielf was sliding. For some reason the rubber came out of its locking position and slowly started sliding off of the blade exposing the first metal blade holder to the window and created a long scratch shaped like a half moon. Not too happy about that, but I hope I can buff this out.
  3. That is what I was thinking - the BS part. I will be talking with the service manager. If he backs up this BS, then I will be taking my car to another Ford Dealer for a second look.
  4. Well, took my car to the dealer around 12,000 miles for the oil change and squeaking issue. Car was 1 year 3 months old at the time. They had the brakes deglazed, but squeaking was evident when pulling out of the dealership. Did not have time to go back. Next trip to the dealer at 17,800 miles, 2 years old for oil change and the squeaking and now they are saying the squeaking is coming from the rear left rotor because it is rusted, but the rear right is also rusting but not making the squeak. They said it would not matter if they cut the rotors because the rust is all the way through the rotors. And of course my service writer said it is not covered under warranty because the rust is due to environtmental damage. They want to charge me $400 to change both rear rotors and pads. My question is why they didn't say anything about the rust on my 12,000 mile visit. Also, I can't believe any environment can cause that type of damage in 2 years, lets say 1 year 3 month as that is when the squeak was apparent. Are they trying to rip me off? I also noticed that the squeaking started after my first tire rotation. Could they have inadvertently did something that would cause this?
  5. Thanks for the input. I will definately have this checked out again. I know the normal brake noises that can occur, but this is a lot louder beyond normal to the point where heads always turn when I'm driving at the mall. Plus, one of the keys on my driver door keybad doesn't light up anymore.
  6. lolder and Buster1, so does your's squeak when you hit your brakes from 5 to 0mph? I did not notice this during my first 10,000 miles of driving, only recently have I noticed this. I would have noticed this if it happened before as it is very loud and embarassing. Loud squeak happens 50%. Only happens if I apply more than average pressure to stop. I figured it was the mechanical brakes engaging, but as it never happened before I am not a little concerned. I NEVER happens above 5mph.
  7. There's another post regarding this here http://www.fordfusionforum.com/index.php?/topic/4634-2011-fusion-sport-body-panel-alignments/ The more people who report this, the better our chances of them correcting this.
  8. About a month after doing my 10,000 service, oil change + tire rotation, I noticed my brakes squeaking ONLY when braking from 5 to 0 mph. Its a loud squeaking sound, the same sound brakes make when the pads are worn out. I brought it back for this issue and they deglazed the rotors and pads, but sound still exists. Any ideas on what else could be wrong? I need some feedback before I call them again. Thanks.
  9. Great way to take action. Let us know what happens.
  10. Thanks, I will post there.
  11. Have anyone gotten lucky and got their dealership to repair this issue? My dealership said someone must have hit me! Total BS. It seems to be getting looser as time goes by. If anyone has a fix, please do share. Thnx
  12. 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. I noticed a gap appearing between the front bumper and body. The gap is located near the outer edge of the headlights (See attached pics). I tried pushing it back in, but it always seems to pop back out. Dealer says someone might have hit me (although absolutely not one scratch on the bumper) and may have snapped the clips, so would not be covered under warranty. I have no problem trying to take it apart and fix it myself, but before I atttemp to do it, anyone with any input that might help. Parts I may need to order? Thanks in advance.
  13. Spoke with Sync support and apparently "Services" is only equipped on non-GPS systems. "The Traffic, Directions & Information software update enables your SYNC to deliver: turn-by-turn driving directions, traffic reports, business searches and your favorite news, sports and weather—all with simple voice commands. A complimentary 3-year subscription is available to new 2010 non-GPS equipped vehicle owners, except for the MKT (only vehicles that are not currently equipped with navigation system qualify for this update). Mobile phone charges may apply." I live in Hawaii and Sirius is unavailable here.
  14. My vehicle is equipped with Sync 3.1. However, I do not have the "Services" option anywhere in sync. When hitting the voice prompt and saying "Services" it is not an option. I have the 502A option. Does anyone have the "Services" option? I would like to use this to access weather and sports. Thanks in advance.
  15. I don't know if a chip is available, but I do notice that accelerating to stay in EV mode must be done with a light pedal. I also notice that when in reverse, you can accelerate faster in electric mode than going forward. Seems to have more torque when in reverse. If that was availalbe going forward would be awesome!!
