  1. Please let me know what the engineer finds. I'll bet money its flywheel or torque converter. My car runs great and I only get the vibration at idle in gear. My car never had issues until they tore into the flywheel. Now I'm screwed. So basically, your car runs great and vibrates with your foot on the brake in gear, correrct.
  2. For anyone who has techinical knowledge, does this make sense when pulling flywheel, and torque converter, please see the sentence below. I have a vibration that's driving me crazy while in gear at red lights... Per the shop manual, you're supposed to put on a little clip to keep it from moving while the transmission is out of the car, perhaps they didn't do that and the torque converter slipped on it's bearings or something like that. Only way to fix that would be to pull the transmission out again
  3. I have a 2008 and have the same problem, I believe resulting from a flywheel or torque converter issue. Had it into the dealer 6 x and no better. I'm still working on it. Sometimes I feel sick from the vibrations! Keep on them, I had a field engineer look at mine and it didn't fix the problem. Every other Fusion I get in doesn't shake at all while at a red light in gear!!
  4. Thanks for the reply. When you say slipped on it's bearings you mean it didn't remain in a stationary position while the torque converter was out of the car and it may be out of alignment. The car runs great, the only issue is this vibration at idle, more so when the car is warmed up, it's been 20 or so degrees here in Detroit. I know this sounds crazy. The guy missed installing the bolt to hold down the airfilter assembly the first time so I have no faith in him at all. Thanks JIM
  5. THIS VEHICLE IS AUTOMATIC...........SORRY FOR NOT ORIGINALLY INCLUDING THIS VITAL PIECE OF INFO.
  6. I have 60,000 on a 4 cylinder 2008 Fusion. I had a new flywheel installed at 59,500 miles under warranty because it was cracked. When i got the car back after the work was completed, I noticed the car vibrating through the drivers seat at red lights with my foot on the brake. In neutral, the vibration is gone. I don't remember this vibration when the old flywheel was in the car. When I brought the car back to the dealership, they said they kept it over night again, and said they neutralized engine by loosening engine mounts and power braking car, vibration was being caused by mounts being tightened in a binding position. They didn't fix the problem. Any ideas, please help. It will be hard to deal with this vibration at every stop or red light. Thanks JIM.....
