  1. Hello all. The time has almost come for my Fusion to find a new home. I've ordered a Focus ST, and it should be at the dealer in about six weeks, or early April. I'm starting to market the Fusion now, because it's going to take a special person to recognize the value here. 2013 Fusion SE, 1.6 litre EcoBoost engine, 6-speed manual transmission, Ruby Red metallic exterior, Dune leather interior. My Ford Touch / Technology / Sync package, 18" luxury painted aluminum wheels. Currently about 40,000 miles. in more detail, the car has: Power seats with drivers power lumbar support, power windows with auto down at all positions, keyless entry, backup camera, heated seats, memory seat and mirrors, automatic air conditioning, heated and self-dimming mirrors, Sirius satellite radio with subscription, electric parking brake, auto headlamps, split fold rear seats, rear seat armrest, theater lighting, tinted windows and more. Pretty much every convenience and option a driver could want, with the fun of a manual transmission! Always filled with fresh Pennzoil Platinum synthetic oil, and carries a Ford extended warranty through a total of four years and 48,000 miles, powertrain 5 years 60,000 miles. I've maintained with Meguiar's waxes, and even clay paint treatments. Average mileage since new: 33.9 MPG. The car has never had any repainting, or been in an accident. To be clear, there are stone chips in the front fascia and glass thanks to our less than pristine Arizona highways. I have a clear, lien-free title. Asking $16,000.00 firm. Buyer pays additional cost if shipping out of Arizona.
  2. I've had mine back a couple weeks now. The reprogram was fairly quick, though I was in a plain-jane rental. With about 1,500 total miles on the car (1.6EB and 6-speed manual) I'm averaging 31.7 MPG, mostly commuting 35 miles each way to work. Some highway (up to 80 MPH) some stop and go, some urban driving. I've had the instant fuel economy gauge up, and try to drive with a light foot to keep the gauge maximized, but there is usually a once or twice daily freeway merge at full throttle. :-) The MFT was upgraded when the engine programming was done. No other issues.
  3. Dealer told me my 2013 1.6L EB, MT should be back to me nest week, that is about 12/19. The software is on the way to the dealer, and they need 1/2 day to get it done.
  4. Hello all....got my 2013 Fusion SE this past Saturday (November 24) and it almost exactly 8 weeks. I live in Arizona (close to Mexico) and I ordered on the employee plan thanks to my brother. My config: ruby red, dune leather, 1.6 EB, 6-speed manual, luxury interior, MFT package and luxury wheels. Obviously none of those options really held up the process beyond expectations. The car has been very nice to drive so far, though the MFT does take a bit to get used to...it can be distracting to find what you're looking for quickly, though it is functioning exactly as designed...no glitches or software problems...just operator problems! For those interested, the manual trans is great. The shift lever is short throw, and very precise...almost like shifting an electric lever, rather than actually being connected to the trans. The clutch is light and has predictable engagement. All in all a very nice package. If I'm disappointed by anything, it's that the handling seems way less precise than my 2012 Focus with sport suspension. The Fusion feels much softer, and more luxurious. Finally, I am disappointed by the cost cutting on the taillamps on the SE vs the Titanium. All the pics of the backend show Titanium lighting, and I "assumed" that's what I would get on the SE. So much for assumptions! In just over 100 miles, mostly urban highway, I'm averaging 32.5 MPG. Drive One!
  5. Hi, To those that have been following.... I've been unable to speak directly with the store manager. I've only met with other employees who don't have the authority to make any changes. I will admit, the cost of this windshield was probably very low. When I first called, I was told if I paid cash, it would be $185.00, installed. I wound up putting it on my insurance, as I was told it would not affect my rates. I don't know what the shop billed the insurance company. I live in Arizona, where we go through a lot of windshields however. We have a lot of rocks and sand on the roads here. If your windshield doesn't crack from a rock, it looks to be sandblasted after a few years. I suspect this is a very competitive market, so the prices are perhaps lower than in other parts of the country. All in all, its nice to have a clean, crack-free windshield, but even after a couple weeks of driving, I still notice the additional noise.
  6. Hey all...just a warning to all of you who ever need a windshield replacement. I really enjoy my 2010 (SE w/ Sport Appearance, 2.5, 6-speed manual...26,000 miles with no repairs or warranty work needed) but a rock caused a crack, and I needed a replacement. One local shop, who did previous glass and tint work for me said they'd do the job, and use "OEM" glass, which I mistakely took to mean Ford glass. Well, after it was done, I noticed the glass was made by Pilkington, which is evidently a Japanese company. The installer told me it was as good or better than Ford, not cheap Chinese made glass (I didn't know there was such a thing) or "recycled" glass (again, I had no idea that existed). Well, the fit looks fine, the tint bands are all there, but the problem is noise. I believe the Ford glass is laminated to reduce noise, and this windshield isn't. The additional engine noise and wind noise are noticable to me at highway speeds, though I will admit I've got pretty good hearing, and I'm very particular about my cars. So overall, I'm not a happy camper, and though I have not yet talked to the shop, I'm doubtful they'll replace it. So, beware- there are differences in replacement windshields!
  7. Hi all...for whatever it's worth...2010 SE 4 cylinder, 6-speed manual, sport handling / appearace package...as of today 13,500 miles and hasn't been back to the dealer since the day I picked it up. I changed the oil a couple times already with Valvoline synthetic, and rotated the tires. I've been averaging 32 MPG in mostly rural driving, even with the air cond running, though admitedly, I do try to maximize the mileage (coasting in neutral to stop lights, very light on the gas) but I do run at 75 MPH to and from work when the freeway allows. Very quiet, no problems at all. I'm pretty impressed.
  8. has not set their status

  9. 2010 SE with 2.5 and 6-speed manual....I have a 36 mile (each way) commute on a mix of suburban streets and 65-75 MPH freeway. Most of the time its dry, and since I just got it in November, the temps have been moderate here in Phoenix (no air conditioning yet). I've been pretty surprised to average (based on the dash readout) 31.9 MPG over the past 3,000 miles (I have just over 5,000 on it in total). Granted, I've been driving relatively conservatively, with rare outbursts of full-throttle accleration, but overall, I've been pretty impressed.
  10. Got my own answer.......fordaccessories.com DOES have the updated 2010 installation instructions I needed. Thanks to you who answered....Joe
  11. Wow....thanks for the fast response......I read the post, unfortunately, I've found out the "blue" wire under the trim plate (drivers side) now controls a power door function, not the dome light as in previous years. The earlier post did not suggest the correct colour code for the dome light hookup. So I guess my interior will be apart for the night, or unyil I find a post for the dome light colour code. Thanks again.
  12. Hello all...I recently took delivery of my 2010 Fusion SE with Sport Blue, appearance package...4 cylinder, 6 speed manual (Yes I had to special order it). So far 600 miles and 29.8 MPG on a couple weeks driving. Anyway, the point is...I ordered a set of lighted stainless sill plates, since I couldn't get them with my car. (Part code 8E5Z-54132A08-AA). I know my way around cars, and wired it like the 2009 instructions said to do, but it's obviously wrong for the 2010. The lights stay on all the time, and won't time out with the dome lights. So please....does anyone know the correct wiring for the 2010? Thanks in advance!
