  1. SCT X3 tuner is popular, and lowering springs will improve handling.

    Ouch...

Looks good, I like the single pipe better, I wonder how that happened. It must be a relief to have it back in tip top shape.
  3. I'm glad it worked out well for you. I know Sirius had a free trial that ended on September 10th, update us when it finally gets shut down, just curious. When I swapped my radios in my Fusion, the Sirius service stayed active, but I changed it back to my original radio soon after, I only needed the CD changer out of the replacement radio.
  4. And also keep in mind, if you see a picture of the radio, and it doesn't have perfect face on it, you can swap yours onto it if necessary. If it's scratched up or just plain ugly for some other reason, you can talk the price down a bit.
  5. Ok, here is what might be your best way of getting a radio with SYNC for your car. You might like this method or not. Go to Car Part.com. You'll pick the region that you're in and a zip code here, and choose your method of sorted listings (distance, price, etc...). Then pick a radio from the list, not sure it really matters which one, but see which I chose, which works fine. Look at the listings with a picture, (unless the vehicle details are clearly listed), this way you can see which model car the radio will come from. Hopefully they do this correctly anyway. You want a Fusion 2008 or 2009 SE or SEL model (Check the trunk pictures for this info), and look at the pictures for either the SYNC badge inside, or a look for a moonroof on the car, which will include a SYNC radio from the package. Also you can look for a 08 or 09 Mercury Milan, either 4 or 6 cylinder, but it has to be a Premier Model, which SYNC came standard on that model. I saw the Sync Badge in the pictures from the Fusion listing that I marked below. That radio should be SYNC, unless of course it's been swapped out like yours, but I wouldn't think that's common at all. Also, this method will work when checking your local Junkyards, and local Craigslist classifieds. Of course I cannot guarantee that this will work out perfectly, but it's a method I would use if I was in your shoes.
  6. Then your car should be equipped with SYNC.
  7. I thought I saw moonroof, but I guess I not. You got a moonroof MacGregor?
  8. It definitely sounds like the radio has been previously replaced by a former owner. You can swap in a used radio, no programming is necessary for it to work. To get the radio ID number for Sirius radio, you have to push a couple of buttons on the radio face plate (front), the Sirius operator gave me directions years ago. This is what I found, not sure if it's correct. Also the radio may need to be powered off. Now the third plug on the rear of the radio, was for the optional 8 speaker Audiophile system. The third plug was the subwoofers connection. I was able to swap out radios with no issues whatsoever in my 07 Fusion, they both worked exactly the same and nothing to program at all. Now the SYNC issue I cannot give any advice about, my 07 did not have that available. If you can figure out what model radio models had SYNC (Part numbers), swap that in and hope for the best. Any radio that looks similar will work, the same radios were used in Fusions, Mustangs, Taurus, Explorers, etc. Ebay is flooded with these Ford radios for sale. And figure out what's going on with the Antenna cable, maybe you can simply splice a new plug onto the end. Not sure how that cable is made internally. And SYNC was an option on all models except the 'S' model. I4 or V6 did not matter for availability. 2009 had the Sun & SYNC value package (Moonroof & SYNC), and since you have the moonroof, you should have that package, and therefore SYNC.

    Ouch...

Awesome, glad to hear it went that easy.
  10. I'm pretty sure those part numbers are interchangeable, all listings state that down a bit on the page, no reason to think otherwise. Price will vary with condition, also check their seller feedback to see their history. A used one is fine to buy on Ebay. And yeah, some trim pops out, some bolts to remove, and a plug. Super easy to replace.

    Ouch...

It's great when an accident claim gets resolved, and repaired, quickly. Hope it all goes well for you.
  12. Well, the Paint that I bought may be even closer to your wheel, my wheels were from a 2010 Sport, and they were the darker shade. The link will be below, and you can find it in your local auto store, most likely, if you want to see the shade in person. I don't know the seller that is listed in the link below, I bought the paint at a local store. Duplicolor AFM0397 Ford Code TY, Z3 Light Charcoal Scratch Fix Touch Up Paint
  13. There have been quite a few threads on this subject, and it doesn't appear that there is a simple Touch Up Paint for the wheels. I had the Sport wheels on my 07 Fusion, and tried to match the paint with a Touch Up available at a few auto stores. I forget which paint that I bought, but I basically compared all silver paints from any vehicle manufacturer to try and find a match. The closest that I found and bought (I thought is was a perfect match) was not a perfect match, it was a bit lighter in color, and I would have preferred that it was a bit darker. Plus, it seems that the Sport wheels did change color at some point, some were darker, and some were brighter.
  14. Common issue, watch this video below. I guess Ford does not consider being able to exit your vehicle in a hurry a Safety Issue.
  15. This should be what you're looking for, Racer Blue. Tasca is a good source for parts, but shop around for the best price, of course. The AF part of the code at the end is the color of the piece, the same part number with a different code at the end will be a different color. Trim Molding - Ford (AE5Z-5404338-AF) EDIT: It looks like Bangster beat me by a minute.
  16. Yes, you should be able to pry down the chrome shroud, and there is one (or two) screws to keep it in place. It shouldn't take more than a minute or two to fix.
  17. I always bought an Autocraft Gold battery from Advance Auto for my Fusion (and other vehicles), and there was always a $40 off discount available.
  18. That is a very dishonest statement by the parts department. If that guy doesn't know there is a centercap on the wheel, he is in the wrong business. This is probably what you'll have to buy. You can pry off your centercap with a small screwdriver and pop the new one right in. (You might find it cheaper with a search.) The Ford stickers can be purchased too, hopefully they will stay on.
  19. How old is your battery? You'll get some weird electrical issues when it's dying. Have you tried to read for OBDII codes?
  20. This thread should help with the mirror replacement. As far as brakes, the videos below shows what is entailed. Welcome aboard.
  21. Price dropped to $200 shipped to the lower 48.
  22. 1. I would find another mechanic, there's a lot of BS coming from him/them. 2. Their special magical oil the only lasts 3,000 miles, well, that's pure BS. 3. Try your lug wrench on the lugs, if there is an issue, you'll notice. There have been plenty of lugs (Including Ford) that swell and are difficult to remove, if that's the case, grab a new set, Gorilla Lugs are my choice. 4. Your brakes may need to be changed, but, yeah, the procedure is simple and online, no special computer is necessary. Rear brakes will wear, so check the pads since you can do that yourself. 5. Shocks & struts, you'll know when they need to be replaced.

  24. This is why we need a cabin air filter. I changed it out today since my car will be gone this week. My Fusion is an 07. Clean & dirty filter Plenty of dirt caught by the filter. And since the pictures above have disappeared, here is the opening where you need to cut. Here is my car, showing where the untaped but still closed cabin air filter is. I kept the left side attached, so I simply pull the right side out to expose the filter. This shows the right side pulled open ,exposing the cabin air filter. This shows it all closed up with Gorilla Tape, that stuff won't come loose.
