I was just checking the Ford website and also have the 4.6 for my 2012 Ford Fusion, but I don't see a link. It says contact the dealership. Did you find the update file?

What version do you currently have installed and is it the large screen with Navigation or the small 2-line screen?

Everything below applies to the small 2-line screen as I have no experience with the large screen:

If you have 4.4, I would leave it alone. Version 4.6 takes away more than it gives you. If you have an iPhone, you will lose the ability to use Siri while connected to the car. I believe it also negatively affects similar functions on Android phones. The only positive thing I found about 4.6 is that it gives you a reboot function. So, if you have older than 4.4, I would look for 4.4 instead.  Version 4.4 gives you song title and artist while streaming music as opposed to the generic “bluetooth streaming” on the display.

I still have a download of 4.4 that I used in my former 2011 Mariner that should work. You are welcome to it if you want to give it a try. BE AWARE THAT IT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND THAT IF THERE IS ANY INCOMPATIBILITY OR OTHER ISSUE, YOU COULD BRICK YOUR SYSTEM.  I have the 4.6 download too (same warning above apples).

I have a 2019 Fusion SE Hybrid,  everything was working well with Fordpass, I could lock and unlock the doors, and start the car from my phone app. Then it all stopped,  I checked and it no longer displays the modem serial number on the screen,  while everything was working the serial number was displayed.  If the reason things stopped working was when the phone companies dropped 3g, why did the serial number disappear from the screen?  Also, a few has posted that the modem was mounted under the rear deck between the speakers,  there is nothing at all mounted there on my hybrid. Where else could it be mounted?

On non-hybrids, when the modem goes down and the serial number disappears, it means one of two things:  Either the system (modem) is just confused or the modem is bad.  Disconnecting the 12volt battery or pulling the ‘Telematics’ fuse for a short time will restore the modem to operation if it is confused.  The serial number reappears and everything works.  Obviously, if the modem is bad, then this process will not change anything.

I don’t know how the hybrid powers the modem as far as the battery systems are concerned so look for a telematics fuse and see if it helps.

    Hello,

I have a 2019 ford fusion S. The person I bought it from had put an aftermarket radio in it that is a hassle. I was to restore it but would like the full screen version that the SE/SEL has vs the S model with the small screen and buttons on the side.

Does anyone know if it's possible to put one in? Thank you in advance

It is possible but the cost is pretty high in the example here:

    https://www.4dtech.com/fusion-2019-4-to-8-touchscreen-conversion-w-sync-3/

You may also try Crutchfield to see if they offer a better aftermarket solution than what the previous owner had installed.  https://www.crutchfield.com/

For those of you that have ford sync 3 it just got updated to 3.4.23188 hopefully this fixes all the issues I've been having. Also couldn't do via wifi had to do it via USB.

Just a reminder that this update does not apply to vehicles that can only get Sync 3.0 (such as my 2018 Fusion that has 3.0.20204 and has not received an update for 3 years).

Okay so I had this problem after going into self test on accident my sirius xm keeps reverting back to channel 0 or the radio ID channel an thoughts all my presets are still there but it kinda piss me off that it keeps doing this also my radio will sometimes revert to fm

What version Sync3 are you on?  There are quite a few reports out there for this issue on Sync3 v3.4.22251  Some have fixed it by doing multiple consecutive Master Resets.  Others have updated to a newer version using Cyan Labs (Ford unsupported) as Ford has not officially released anything newer than 3.4.22251.

I have a Ford Fusion 2010 with multimidia center with 8" screen display OEM, want to upgrade the B1U52011 version for a newer one with new maps.

I get the 3 DVDs but its not compatible,  apparently its just have B2B, B4U and B5U versions inside it.

Some one can help with an idea?

I try to download from Ford Website and it sayss my VIN number is already upgraded

I think it’s time to look for something completely new.  Check out https://www.crutchfield.com to see what they offer.

  7. The 36 month factory warranty starts from the original in-service date, not the manufacture date. You should be able to find out the in-service date from any dealer or Ford Customer Service.  You will also need to be under the 36,000 mile limit.

As far as the smoke smell, you may need to have the vehicle professionally treated or you could look into purchasing an ozone generator and try to take care of it yourself.

Just replace the battery. 5 years is an extraordinary lifetime for car batteries these days. I'm not sure if start-stop vehicles use a different deep-cycle battery.

I have a 2017 Fusion SE with the 1.5 liter engine purchased new as a leftover in March of 2018. The start/stop feature no longer seems to be working and the indicator light is still showing on. Even during normal weather with a minimum of accessories on, the engine won't turn off at a traffic light or a vehicle stop anymore.  The car has the original battery which now has 5 years of use on it plus the time it sat on a dealers lot unsold.

Looking around on the internet, it was suggested the battery might not have the capacity anymore for this to work. Is there a way to find out or should I just replace the battery because

    of the age?

Most Auto Stop/Start vehicles will use an AGM battery.  Go with the one that matches what the owner’s manual recommends.

Is there a way to get it out of park so I may drive it to the dealership?

    From the owner’s manual….

    Brake-Shift Interlock Override
WARNING   WARNING:  When doing this procedure, you need to take the transmission out of park (P) which means your vehicle can roll freely. To avoid unwanted vehicle movement, always fully apply the parking brake prior to doing this procedure. Use wheels chocks if appropriate.
WARNING   WARNING:  If the parking brake is fully released, but the brake warning lamp remains illuminated, the brakes may not be working properly. Have your vehicle checked as soon as possible.

Note:   Do not drive your vehicle until you verify that the brake lamps are working.
Note:   See your authorized dealer as soon as possible if this procedure is used.
Note:   For some markets this feature is disabled.
Note:   This feature only functions if your 12-volt battery has power. If vehicle battery voltage is not sufficient, an external 12-volt power source (for example, jumper cables, battery charger or jump pack) may be required to function the interlock override switch.
Use the brake-shift interlock override to move your transmission from the park position in the event of an electrical malfunction. If your vehicle has a dead battery, an external power source is required.
    1. Apply the parking brake and turn your ignition off before performing this procedure.

    Brake-Shift Interlock Access Slot Location

    1. Locate your brake-shift interlock access slot. The slot is located in your center console storage bin. The access slot does not have a label.
Note:   Make sure that you correctly identify the access hole as not to damage the media hub.
    1. Using a tool, press and hold the brake shift interlock switch. The transmission selector indicator flashes for three seconds when your vehicle is in override mode.
    1. When the transmission selector indicator is still flashing, release the override switch to shift from park (P) to neutral (N).
    1. Your vehicle remains in Stay in Neutral mode for wrecker towing purposes or can be shifted to the desired gear and driven (if possible).
    1. Release the parking brake.
  10. Sorry to hear about your engine. How many miles?

I still have 3-1/2 years remaining on my Ford Protect plan on my 2018 2.0. I have low miles so maybe I will never see it in mine and will probably get rid if it at the end of the Ford Protect warranty.

Unfortunately, I fell victim to coolant intrusion on my 2016 2.0. The dealership is still waiting for the engine, 6 weeks after it was dropped off. My service advisor sent me a "parts and labor" pdf so I could see an estimate of what its gonna cost me. The "service engine assembly" part number is FP5Z-6006-AARM. It doesn't say "remanufactured" or "new". Can anyone tell me if this block is going to have the same coolant slit in the cylinder head, or will it have the weep holes? I definitely don't want to fork out $7500 just to have the same issue 2 years down the road. TIA

I have a small update, went to the dealer again ans it sounds like the Owner thinks the repairs look good, I am at a loss for words on that one.  I am thinking more and more I need to get out of this car and into a comparable non accident car.

Are there better places than other to search for Fusions online?  Not giving up just yet on this but this seems like the easiest route without going into battle with the bodyshop/dealer (not ruling that out though).

I have a 2018 Fusion with 14K miles that I am probably selling in the next month or so. It is a fully loaded Platinum trim in White Platinum paint with Ceramic leather interior. 2.0 Ecoboost.

Arizona car, no accidents, no issues.  It has a no deductible, Premium Care Ford Protect plan for 8 years/85K miles including lighting and key fobs that should be transferable.  It expires in March of 2026.

Let me know if you end up deciding to replace yours and if you are interested in this one.

Yes, all the other buttons work. A clockspring is $77 with shipping. IDK, taking it to a dealer is an automatic $100 so....

    Checks,

If I were having this issue, I would try disconnecting the battery for a short time to let everything reset before throwing more parts at it.  Maybe it will wake up whatever is really not responding.

    I think it’s worth a shot.

  13. What engine do you have and what are the miles on the vehicle?  Also, what is wrong this time?

If still within the powertrain warranty, what is the reason they will not fix it?  If outside the warranty, then unfortunately, you are probably on your own.

I did do a reset in the audio portion and an rescan of stations.  I lost all of my presets.

I think you may be referring to a reset of the entire sync system.  I’m guessing this will take you back to an early sync 3.4 state prior to any of the version updates.

The master reset does not take you back to an earlier version.  It just resets the system to the defaults and erases your personal settings (including removing your phone profiles).

    Alcohen,

I think your suggestion may have, at least partly, Done the trick.  With the fm radio playing I wen’t to settings, then radio and saw that “radio text” was already on.  I turned it off first with the ignition only on and then with the engine running.  I saw that some stations now displayed the rds data.  The station that I normally listen to did not.  Prior to this, station  WQXR at first displayed 105.9, WQXR  then added  the phrase “ New York’s classical music station WQXR.com” a few days later.   I know they are providing the artist and title info since I get it on my home radio.

    thanks,

    Al

At least you know the function works.  If you see the data on other radios but not this vehicle for that particular station, I would first give it a little more time and if it does not start working, try the master reset.  Be aware that if you do a master reset any settings you changed from default, some radio presets and Nav Favorites will need to be redone.  The last time I did a master reset (previous to 21194), I lost my SXM presets, but the regular radio ones remained in place.

Keep us updated on what happens.
