My files are for the small screen version. I don’t think it’s a good idea to try them on the large screen/Nav version.

Could also be the dreaded coolant intrusion defect.  If so, hopefully you have a warranty of some kind.

Just a reminder that this update does not apply to vehicles that can only get Sync 3.0 (such as my 2018 Fusion that has 3.0.20204 and has not received an update for 3 years).

Might be time for a new 12V battery.  If you still have the original battery in there, you're well overdue.  My wife's Pacifica was doing the same thing, remote start would try and fail, even though starting it normally would work fine.  Put a new battery in there and now it works every time.

What version Sync3 are you on?  There are quite a few reports out there for this issue on Sync3 v3.4.22251  Some have fixed it by doing multiple consecutive Master Resets.  Others have updated to a newer version using Cyan Labs (Ford unsupported) as Ford has not officially released anything newer than 3.4.22251.

The 36 month factory warranty starts from the original in-service date, not the manufacture date. You should be able to find out the in-service date from any dealer or Ford Customer Service.  You will also need to be under the 36,000 mile limit.

As far as the smoke smell, you may need to have the vehicle professionally treated or you could look into purchasing an ozone generator and try to take care of it yourself.

Most Auto Stop/Start vehicles will use an AGM battery.  Go with the one that matches what the owner’s manual recommends.

The 2017 Fusions have a rotary gear selector.  There's no conventional shifter with a thumb button.

If past performance is any indication, I would wait a couple of days after these become available to be sure you get the correct download.  Last year they had the wrong (old) maps downloading and the time before that they provided an incorrect license file.

Would be pretty hard to have a 2021 Ford Fusion part since 2020 was the last year of production.

So glad to have been able to lend a "hand"! It's amazing being able to use the info in forums like this and get stuff working properly / better. ?

What engine do you have and what are the miles on the vehicle?  Also, what is wrong this time?

If still within the powertrain warranty, what is the reason they will not fix it?  If outside the warranty, then unfortunately, you are probably on your own.

alcohenusa reacted to akirby in Disable 'smart unlock' key locked inside car horn beeps
You can disable it with Forscan, but one would think the horn honking is enough for her to modify her behavior.  You can set the doors to lock automatically when you start driving, so do that and show her she can leave the fob in her purse or pocket, open the door normally (which will unlock it), get in and drive off and the doors lock automagically.

If that won’t work, trade her in.

Step one I need to figure out if it has the harness already installed.  If so I may tackle it.
