  1. FML. Thanks tho. U seem to know ur sh!t- def a good thing. Is that ur fusion or is that photoshoped??
  2. hey bbf2530, sorry, it was confusing as I tent to ramble a bit. In a few days away from getting an 06 SEL, with somewhat decent tires. We have 3 Taurus' at my house in addition to the future Fusion and my Explorer and a couple others (family of 6...). I have 2 really good sets of snow tires that will fit only one of our Taurus'- and that one really just sits in the 3rd garage spot because, well its a wagon and we just dont have use for it, but my father wont get rid of it... So now it seems they're goin on craigslist... Now to the poor winter performance: my friends father was one of the first people to get one. Had an 06 V6 SE. But when the snow came around all he did was complain about it- the way it handled and in one instance it actually slipped down his driveway into the street overnight. He lives in a cul-de-sac so there was no real danger but for some reason our builders set our houses on kindof a steep incline. Sometime it wouldnt make it up the driveway without help from (eeek) his daughters pt cruiser...BUT in all fairness I dont know if his tires were already worn out. He had 2 fusions and would put 50K on his car a year- now he drives Taurus' again. Obv with winter tires your going to be better off, I was just hoping we didnt have to face wasting $700 on snows that we now will probably get $200 for... FML. But thanks for the help
  3. Hey peeps- I have 2 sets of 15 inch snow tires that I used for a Taurus that i just got rid of. No rims on them. My question is, is if I were to buy a set of <15 inch> steel wheels to put them on- like from a taurus- would they fit?? I dont know anything about bolt patterns... so if thats what you know, it wont really help too much. My 06 Fusion is an SEL and has those rims on it now if that matters. I can find Taurus rims easy but dont know if they'd match up and for me to try to sell the tires would be a waste becasue ill never get my money back. 1 set has half life left and the other has less than 500 miles. Dont ask how I have them cause the story is just stupid... This will be my first winter with my fusion and I heard they are horrible... just wanna safe guard myself if I can... thanks!
  4. Hey guys! Thanks in advance for the help in my search for my next car. For sure, I will be looking into a V6 Fusion. Most likely an SEL (pertaining to the automatic climate control). I currently have an 04 Explorer with 180K trouble free miles. Ive heard horrible things about Explorers. In fact, my fiance has the exact same model as mine (different color) and half the miles- and has had 3 complete transmission replacements. At 180K I still haven't had one. Maybe luck of the draw. Maybe she just has a lemon. I'm keeping my baby. But driving as much as I do, and at 3.25 a gallon, it gets tough on the pocketbook. I'll be keeping my truck for the Western NY winters. My next car is a Fusion. Ive driven the 4, liked it- but drove an AWD V6 and fell in love. I've always been a fan of the 3.0 duratec- fun, responsive and decent gas mileage. Styling is nice- and i prefer the SEL wheels with the little chrome accents around the car. Just looks better- and with my job, pretty things are subconsciously important. Im looking at 3 different years and doing what I can to get the cheapest one I can. I found an 06 SEL with 180K for 5500, an 07 SEL with 85K (rebuilt salvage) for 7000 and an 08 SEL with 130K for 8000. Miles and title don't matter if the car was cared for/repaired correctly. I'm looking for the year with the least amount of problems- or if there are common things to look for, mechanically, functionally or physically i would like to know. I haven't seen any with rust or paint issues (yet) so im not concerned there really. Any Fusion experts out there to give me their 2 cents?? I'm a Ford guy so no matter what it'll be a Ford. My 01 Taurus is still trucking along with almost 250k miles. I can go on and on about our cars, but- I'm too tired too. ha! Thanks again guys!
