  1. The gauge sweep is normal. The ipod kicking on and off a few times like a skipping Cd isn't normal. Maybe your plug to the ipod is loose or flimsy?
  2. Its a DOHC, they are generally a little noisy. It takes a little while to get the oil up to the head and what you are hearing is just the valve train tapping cause they are dry. I have the same sound with only 1500 miles and my GF's focus has a little tapping in the cold morning for a few seconds. My Marauder with the 32V had a rattle in the cold morning as well until I switched to royal purple oil. I wouldn't worry about it unless you hear it all the time after its warmed up.
  3. I have a ipod Nano and it works perfectly with my sync. Just use the USB cable and wait for it to index. Then select USB and the voice controls will then work.
  4. Motor trend ran a 2010 Fusion to 16.0 in the 1/4 and 8.2 0-60 with the 4cyl manual trans. I dont see a 4cyl Fusion taking a Prelude. I remember back in the late 90's when the ricers were at the peak of popularity, the Prelude was the car to beat among the Honda's. Now a V-6 accord is what the Prelude was.
  5. I use funny alternate titles for some of my songs just to hear the SYNC lady curse. lol Its a cheap laugh.
  6. Did you see a wire or a plug that's used for that sensor? Im thinking that all you would need is the sensor, the harness and then plug it into either the back of the radio to power the display or it joins into the harness somewhere. I would need a wiring diagram and some warmer temps to go messing around with my car.
  7. So far with over 500 miles on my 2010, I noticed a slightly harder 1-2 shift when its cold but its not that terrible. However, If Im moving forward, come to a complete stop then put it in reverse, it seems to be a delay and then bangs into gear hard. I noticed it a few times already but its not all the time. Im hoping that its a just something that will go away as the tranny breaks in.
  8. For Ford cars you can tell where its built by the first number in the VIN. #1 is America #2 is Canada #3 is Mexico Anything to save a buck.
  9. My GF has a 2010 focus SES coupe with a nearly identical message center, but hers has the outside temp on the right side of the message center and mine is blank on my 2010 Fusion SE. Is this feature not available on my car? or do I have to switch it on? or do I have a problem? Thanks for any info.
  10. If you are worried about the hubcaps on the SE then go for a SE with the mono-chrome package. You get rid of those decent looking wheel covers for stylish 18" rims. I was concerned about the 4cyl being buzzy or low on power. I was turned around by the power and how quiet it performs during the test drive. I have no regrets with my choice in trim level. Im very happy with my car. Save the few bucks and get a SE with the monoc-chrome package. It adds the rims, sport tuned suspension, rear spoiler, blacked out grill, and unique interior stitching. I think this is the best looking version of the Fusion besides a fully dressed Sport.
  11. I was told that at the end of my lease which is 39 months and 36K miles, that my car is worth close to $13K at the end. My sticker was $24,600. Its nice to see that Ford is getting a much improved reputation as a quality domestic car.
  12. Wish I could detail my Fusion but road salt and snow are preventing me.

  13. I have a 03 Marauder which weights in at about 4600lbs with me in it. Stock is 302hp/318tq and ran mid 15's the 1/4. Although there are some factory freaks that went a high 14 stock but average is mid-low 15's. Bone stock in that heavy a sedan, I could smoke most any Fusion out there. I never had someone step up to me in a Fusion, Personally with all the work I have done to my Marauder, I actually surprise a lot of mustang and vette owners at the track and sometimes on the street. The governor on the 03 would kick in at 125 and on the 04 it was 115. No difference in tires but Ford made a change for whatever reason. Heres where it gets technical, Stock motor, throw in a higher stall convertor, and a set of gears and I can knock at least a half second off my 1/4 times. Still stock engine output. The fusion is no doubt geared to get the car off the line and make it feel like it has more power then what it really does but when you get on the top end, you'll learn how much power you really have. Every car I ever owned I pushed to the limit just to see what my potential is. This Fusion will be no different. My Marauder stock with the governor removed and 3.55 gears went over 140 before I ran out of road. I had a lot more then that but a 4600lb speeding bullet takes a while to come to a stop. I installed 4.10s and the car is a slow climb past 125mph. Gearing is the reason lower gears (4.10's,4.30's) will give you a ton of bottom end but kill your top end. Just cause you have a ton of power, doesn't mean you will top out at 200mph.
  14. Generally a ping is the result of a lean condition. Most likely you have a tank of bad or weak gas. Try filling up with a little higher octane or go to a different gas station. Use only a brand name gas station. There has also been a rumor that the winter blend is rather weak so this may contribute to the issue as well.
