  1. When I drove my new from the factory car off the dealer lot, I looked up and saw the oil change sticker that said 3000 miles. Idiots. Such a waste of oil and money to do that. Nearly every place does it and I always peel the sticker off when I first get back into the car. Drives me nuts not only having a sticker on my window, but one that tells me the incorrect oil change interval to use.
  2. 30GB is not just the Gracenote database. It's also the map information. Ford never advertised it as 40GB either...maybe your dealer lied to you, but Ford has always said that it's a 10GB system. If you don't like it, you can just use your non-embedded technology that is less functional and more difficult to use because it's not completely integrated. That's your prerogative though.
  3. I've learned that it's not always just about keeping it in EV...It's more about when EV should be used and when it shouldn't be.
  4. That looks like genuine leather to me. That's the finish that's been rubbed off of your wheel. I'd definitely say that they should replace that because it shouldn't have peeled so soon (unless you're constantly rubbing it with a tough grip or something). The wheel is leather wrapped though. I can't believe this is even a topic of discussion.
  5. You would have to crank A LOT to make any sort of impact to fuel economy. I think that they should've reduced the drag coefficient of the Fusion by sharpening the corners on the back of the car and/or a few other things. Then again, I really like the look of the Fusion as it is, and I'm not sure I'd want to sacrifice the look for slightly better mpg.
  6. The online inventory is usually incorrect. It often includes cars that are not there yet or have already been sold. I had that problem several times while searching for my car.
  7. So...let's just do nothing then? That's your argument. Flawed. Screw it...let's just ruin the planet...can't do it all right now...so why bother ever doing anything at all? Instead of making things happen, politicians and (ahem... conservatives) just wanna bicker about how it's useless to protect the environment. As I've said before...not the place for this debate, so I won't post anything further.
  8. Not exactly the best place to debate this, but... 1. That article is an opinion article from a single person...not the entire New York Times...so that one person agrees with you 2. Where is the oil? On the beaches, on the wildlife...have you not been paying attention? 3. How does an EV equal energy independence? How do they equal no oil? Is this a serious question? First, EVs don't use oil and gas. Then, we use American energy from wind, solar, hydro, nuclear to power our electricity grid and then plug our EVs into that....that's total energy independence...no dependence on foreign oil for our energy needs. I'd have to disagree with your first statement about this being a waste of money. Infrastructure spending is what the government should be spending money on. Subsidizing electric vehicles is related to infrastructure. If our country is going to move in the direction of energy independence (necessary from a defense standpoint), we need to electrify our vehicles and highways.
  9. I think a lot of you are misunderstanding the old hybrid credits and the new hybrid credits. The old credit is pretty much said and done for a lot of manufacturers. Ford sold it's allotted number of units that were eligible for the credit, so their cars are no longer eligible. The $7500 credit is a new credit that is based on battery capacity. It's not aimed specifically at the Volt one bit. Every manufacturer has the same shot at it. There's other things that are much worse that our tax dollars are being wasted on. Upgrading our infrastructure and providing incentive to consumers to move toward a new standard of vehicle will help in the long run. EVs = no gas...no oil...no oil spills...energy independence. Sure this car will compete somewhat...it's great for those with a short commute every day. The technology is hardly dumb as some have stated...it's a pretty good idea actually. The big problem with EV is the short range...the Volt solves that problem and still offers pure electric driving for the first 40 miles of a charge.
  10. The stock version has changed recently. I called and talked to the AZX Plan people about this. You have to own 100 shares of stock for 6 months before you're eligible.
  11. I paid about $200 over invoice for mine. Dealers are definitely willing to negotiate. There's no 0% APR because they don't need to offer any incentives.
  12. I thought this was a joke... As for the import comment from akirby, my Civic had the horn in the same spot as the Fusion does.
  13. They added homelink and now have a much better color selection as well.
