my SEL is tinted with 15% on the sides and 5% on the back glass. I Haven't noticed any change but considering mine stays on 60 and Max AC 90% of the time since I got the car in June I may not be the best to comment. Maybe contact your dealership and at least find out where the sensors are located to see if it is located somewhere that normally gets direct sunlight and is now dimmed. I have solar tint along with the stuff from the factory on the glass so even 95+ outside with black leather interior it only takes a few min for the AC to cool the cab. I have noticed if I pull back the moon roof cover to get some extra light in the car I can feel a major heat difference from that glass, your sensors may be reacting to something similar just in a different spot.

I admit I had to pull out the manual on the first day I got my '09 to figure this out. What you do is pull out the head light knob, kinda like what you do to adjust a wrist watch. You should see a little light next to the knob come on when the fogs are on.

Just checked sticker on an S model and perimeter alarm is standard.

without taking it in for service I'd say stop at an Autozone or some other auto parts store. They all tend to test the battery and alternator for free. I was having problems last winter with cold starts and had them check the battery. It was still good but the Cold cranking amps were lower than the battery had rated so it never hurts to stop and check. May save some time also to find out if its the battery (most likely) or the alternator.

Usually if your smelling anti freeze in the car a lot of the time its from a bum heater core. Check your passenger floor, that's usually where the coolant leaks to.

You have the I4 or V6 engine and transmission? What was the update for?

I honestly had no clue what this was for when I was driving a rental around, but when I was at the dealership waiting for them to finish washing my car before taking it home initially I looked through the Fusion brochure and that's exactly what it showed the drawer for. After thinking about it now it makes sense since they removed the little change slots in the middle glove box from the previous model. I'm glad cause I could never seem to get coins in or out the center console easily in my '09

Question about staying away from Armorall, I understand not using the original on leather but did he mean all armorall products? If so why? since they make wipes with original, leather, glass, and all purpose cleaner. (assuming all purpose is like a wet wipe)

Brighten or Dim? Mine dim to about half lit when the lights kick on. Does it every morning when I put the reflective visor in the window and it blocks the sensor forcing the lights to come on. My '09 did the same thing just not as big a difference. Honestly I didn't like them at first when I was driving a rental but after cleaning the stuff out my totaled '09 I much prefer the new gauges. I really like how I can set the ambient lighting to either blue setting and it matches well with the dash, radio, door locks, etc lighting.

Not really, one is just a B**** so any little noise she wants to complain. I won't have to hear it after this month anyway. She's being evicted for all the noise complaints me and the rest of the neighbors have filed over the past 4-6 months against her. When you stand outside, with your car doors open, speakers blaring, the entire hood dancing and drinking around your vehicle its time to go. Landlord finally got the message when the building across the street kept calling the cops and then called her and left a msg on her vmail about the problems with this 1 hood b****

My fan/AC works with my remote start. I do have to preset it before I shut the car off though. Meaning is I turn off the AC before I get out then it will still be off when I get in from the remote start. Same thing with the fan speed. What I tend to do is put it on Max AC then shut it down that way when I'm leaving work and start it from the building the air is going. Sounds like your fan may not be working at all with the remote start which is definitely a problem, don't let them tell you otherwise. If you leave the fan on when leaving the car but it is not on when you unlock after remote starting they messed up something. And for the others, Don't touch the Brake till you have the key in the on position. One thing I wish wouldn't come on with remote start is the radio. I forget to turn down the volume often then bother the neighbors if I choose to remote start in the morning.

Anyone seen, and if so, know where to buy clear or smoke side markers for the 2010 model? All I keep finding when I search are the ones for the 06'-09' models

Been turning off the recycle air along with cracking the back windows and moon roof to vent out the smell and heat when I first get in the car in the afternoon. Then go back to recycle in 5 minutes or so for max cool. Working out good and my eyes are no longer burning from the gases. Thanks for the info.

Just curious is someone could answer a question for me. I'm in La and its forever hot here after March. Well the new Fusion I got last week has leather seats. My question is what in the leather or maybe in the factory conditioner burns the hell out of my eyes in the afternoon when the AC is on interior circulation? Its 95+ and I have the AC on max and recycle and something from inside puts a nice sting in my eyes. When I switch to fresh air instead of interior circulation the smell from the AC is different and my eyes stop burning.

Lol, love how Tx and La are so much alike. Common saying is Louisiana has 4 season. Summer, Surface of the Sun, More Summer, Christmas. BTW Coommish do you have the reverse camera cause it looks like I have the exact same car cept maybe for a feature or two. As for tint, after totaling my '09 Fusion a few weeks ago I just got my 2010 this Monday, dropped it off today to get tinted by the same shop that did the last car. Well tomorrow I have to take it back cause it looks like shit. Bubbles on all 4 window doors, and yes the 1/4" kind and not the tiny air bubbles that will go away, and the back window looks like Reynolds Wrap. I don't know if the jackass's didn't use a heat gun or were too dumb and over used the heat gun. Either way there's no way this crap is staying on my brand new car.

Just totaled my '09 with a V6 last week, been in a 2010 rental with the I4, and am hoping to pick up my new 2010 with the V6 this weekend. Now this may be off a bit since the I4 I'm in is a rental but overall I feel the transmission much more in the I4 which makes for a less comfortable ride in any type of stop and go traffic. The 4 just seems to have more trouble deciding which gear to switch into where the V6's are super smooth, even in hard acceleration. The biggest complaint I've had this past week in this rental is idling up to a stop or red-light along with a little jerk when taking turns. Backing off the gas and coasting I can feel the tranny down shifting and actually feel it slowing the vehicle compared to my V6 which just let the vehicle coast. When turning it seems to choose the gear just as you start to accelerate and is more jumpy than I'm use too. If I wasn't use to my V6 and how it felt I probably wouldn't notice anything I stated before since most of what I'm feeling is minute, but since I am used to my car this I4 just isn't the same ride I'm accustomed too.

Anyone driven both the '09< and then the 2010 Fusion's? It may be that the 2010 SE I'm currently in is a rental but damn I want my '09 fixed in a hurry. First I'm in a 4cyl instead of V6 and getting about the same gas mileage. I miss my leather steering wheel, tinted windows, Sirius, Sync, Sunroof, backup sensors, etc, etc. The main question I have for people are about the seats. How many versions are there in the 2010 models, is it just cloth and leather? I have cloth in my '09 cause leather is too hot in South Louisiana and its actual soft cloth. This 2010 is more of a nylon and it seems the seat is made a bit different and is no where near as comfortable as my '09. It looks and feels cheap. As for the jumpy transmission and soft brakes that may just be cause its a rental. I sure hope its just this car and not all 2010's

Just as a little more info, I had just under 9k miles total on the car. What worries me is that it may be totaled and not fixed is the transmission. The car shut down in the wreck and I couldn't get it into Park. Then the tow truck guy started it and lined it up with the truck, he couldn't get it into park either. He had to go N and use the emergency break.
