  1. I'm going to pick the sport wheels this weekend. This is going to be a long drive for me (10 hrs there and back). Can someone share his/her used wheel shopping knowledge? Especially for things like what should I bring and what should I check, etc.
  2. That's great to know! After changing to the 18" ones, do you notice any change on the stiffness, hwy road noise, braking, steering, etc.? Just as a backup if this plan didn't work out, I'm also looking at a set of the 2008 Mazda Speed3 18" wheels. The dimensions are identical to the Fusion Sport wheels except the offset. Instead of +44 mm, Mazda's are +52.5 mm I believe. Given that I'll still run 225/45R18 tires, will this offset cause the tires to rub?
  3. Hi, I was wondering that will a 2011 OE sport wheel (part number AE5Z1007A) fit my 07 Fusion SE with 2.3 L I4? I've learned that my stock 16" wheels measure in 16"x6.5" with +40 mm offset rims and 205/60R16 tires, while the sport wheels come in with 18"x7.5" and +44 offset rims and 225/48R18 tires. Since the 08 model could be optioned with a similar style 18" wheel with identical dimensions, I guess my plan of changing to those 2011 OE sport wheels will work out on my Fusion just fine? How about center bore size? Are all Fusion models prior to 2013 share the same 67.1 mm sizing? How will upsizing to 18" from 16" affect the suspensions, brakes, speedometer, steering, etc.? I have all those parts stock for now. I've seen forum member fusionff's signature photo (for instance, in this thread). Your Fusion is the exact way how I want mine done, maybe minus the lowering part and the V6... I gotta say this car inspired me big time! Thanks in advance!
  4. Above all, thank you so much for replying me! Personally, I don't think there was any significant overhaul towards fusion chassis (the old Mazda 6 chassis) for all fusion models. They even have the same door panels. For even some online stores such as autoanything, they listed a hitch from Curt that does not require drilling. So now I'm even more confused.
  5. Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to this forum, nice to know you guys! I'm planning to move from Winnipeg to Kingston in this summer. According to my plan, the inside of my 07 fusion will be filled up with my stuff for school, clothes, etc. I will put my winter tires, bicycle, and my snowboard on a trailer borrowed from my friend. So now I'm facing a problem on choosing the suitable hitch for my 07 fusion. I looked through etrailer.com and found that the hitch listed for my 07 model (24775) is different than what for 10 model (60282). I'm really confused, don't all fusions share the same chassis and main frame? I climbed under my car and realized that it has the exactly the same screw holes at exactly the same locations for 2010 model (see figure 1 for the screw holes on each side). I also checked the bumpers on the the two models, in terms of size they are not very different. I can't think of any trouble from the exhaust either. The reason why I hesitate to directly go with 24775 is that it requires drilling holes on the car frame. I think drilling through a metal frame of a car is going to be quite tough. Plus I don't even have a power drill handy. Therefore I much prefer 60282 or the similar, which don't require any drilling. So my question is, has anybody tried to install 2010 model's hitch on any 06-09 model? Is it possible? Thank you so much! Figure 1 24775 Hitch for 06-09 models 60282 Hitch for 2010 and above models
  6. A little update: I just found that once the engine start to run, the power steering fluid will leak out! That's definitely power steering hoses' fault. But I'm still not very sure about whether this is the source of that whining sound (now gets pretty loud). Let me bring it to the dealer tomorrow. Damn Ford, just a sudden brake damages the steering system. I read from somewhere that the power steering pressure also assists the braking pressure... Just hoping the price of fixing it will not be too high.
  7. Hi kgronemeyer, Have you solved this problem yet? I think I just got a similar problem here. Yesterday morning I was driving my 07 FF 2.3L manual to work, I braked kinda hard before one intersection, right after the hard-stop, I noticed that there is some kinda whining noise from the engine bay. I noticed the noise seems to happen under heavy braking or steering. Have you discovered what's the cause to this issue? Steering fluid or the belt is loose? Thank you very much for your help!

  9. Hi everyone, Yesterday morning I was driving my 07 FF 2.3L manual to work, I braked kinda hard before one intersection. Right after the heavy stop, I noticed that there was some kinda low whining noise from the engine bay. I noticed the noise seems to happen under heavy braking or steering. Also after stopping sometimes the noise pulses up and down and the engine RPM does the same. If you fully disengage the clutch while the car is moving, the noise goes lower. That makes me think it is the power steering (I don't think the brakes are related to the engine in any way) pump or maybe the belt. After I got home I checked the steering fluid and it's kind of hard to tell but I think it might be low. Might just require more fluid or tightening the belt? I don't have much idea what was going on, but I don't want to bring the car to the dealer without knowing, or at least knowing what's the likely cause for a problem. Does anyone have some idea for what was the cause for the noise? Also the warranty left on the FF is only power train now. So I think they are not going to cover much if some big parts break down. Hopefully is just fluid.
  10. Hi everyone, I'm glad to join this forum as a future Fusion owner. I'm currently a university student at Winnipeg, Canada. My father loves Ford since lone time ago, he just bought a Mondeo 2.5T, he's higly satisfied by the car's performance and reliability. With his recommendation, I'm going to buy a Fusion as my first ride in my life. However, I'm still a student who works mainly during summer. I can't afford new 2010 Fusion, although they look brilliant. I target on a local used 2007 Fusion SE and currently trying to figure out the history & price of the vehicle. This is the link of thw 2007 Fusion: 2007 Fusion Is there anyone who has unlimited Carfax or AutoCheck would like to help me to check the history of this car? Bunch of thanks! So happy now!
