  1. Now I have this same type of problem but mine only occurs when its above 80 degrees below that it goes away immediately. 07 awd. Greased some of the bushings last summer and it went away for like 2 days then came back it was in the 90s when I did this. But all winter nothing until last week it hit 80 and it started next day it was 70 and nothing.

  2. I have a 07 AWD switched front and rear diff and trans to full amsoil synthetic and it made a difference for sure. Trans shifts allot smoother and get better mpg. Was getting 20 to 22 around town and 28 to 29 highway now im getting 24 to 25 around town and 30 to 31 highway. I can get 400 to 410 per tank by best being 418.

Im sure most know this but in case you dont the transfer case on the fusion is non servicable so dont bother trying to change the fluid in that.

  3. I have a 07 AWD switched the front and rear diff and trans to all amsoil synthetics and it made a huge difference in my oppinion. Without I was getting 20 to 22 around town and 28 29 highway. Now im getting 24 to 25 city and 30 to 31 highway. Last summer without it from Ohio to N Carolina with myself and a friend both weighing 200+ and both our girlfriends a/c blowing and trunk full of luggage was getting 26.

  4. I have a 2007 Fusion ive had Hid 8000k installed before and they always flickered in cold weather and were just an overall pain in the butt. Im getting my bumper taken off and painted while they are in there I want to install a fresh set in headlights and fogs. I want blue but not overkill and I dont want issues. Is there a brand anyone could recommend were im not going to have issues. My old set in cold weather I would have to unlock my doors which kicks the headlights on then get in turn the switch on for headlights then start the car. If you started the car then turned headlight switch on they would just flicker. But in warmer weather they worked fine until they just went out one day and I said the heck with it and put silverstars in.

  5. I was looking into buying a 2007 AWD Fusion. I've heard lots of good stuff and reviews. I've also heard 2 not so good (negative) things: 1) mileage of AWD 2) issues/problems with the AWD system (transfer case if we can call it this).

    1) Mileage: as per the various posts I've read in diff. forums, the AWD does use-up a (fair bit) more gas. Especially city. Won't dwell on this, but one person who tested/driven both AWD & FWD V6, said he used $20 more gas per week ($80 vs $60) for his weekly travel with AWD. For roughly same travel. Seems like quite a bit (25 to 33% more depending how you calculate).

    2) AWD transfer case: Other issue I heard which may be more serious is there may be some problems with the AWD system. I don't think AWD use a 'transfer-case' as such (4WD used to), but someone working at a car dealer said he already has seen major repair on 2 'transfer-cases' in past months (with mileages in the 15K-25K Km or ~9K-15K Miles). I'm not sure if anyone has heard any such things.

Obviously, AWD systems have more moving parts, more complex, etc... than FWD. But if what I heard is true - and after only 1-year equivalent driving mileage.... what will it be later.

I live in cold area and would love to go with AWD model. I plan on keeping car at least 5-yrs (probably 5-10).

Would love to hear any comments from actual users, people in the know, etc...

I have an 07 awd bought it with 23k has 55 now and I have not had any issues. I drive it all over. The only issue ive had is a bad control arm bushing which is nothing. I usually get around 21 to 22 mpg city and 28 to 29 around town. Just went from Ohio to NC last week with the AC full blast and 4 people plus luggage in the car got 25 the entire trip.

  6. Yea sorry to hear that never like to see anyone with a Ford having issues. I have an 07 AWD had it sense 22k its got 49 on it now and I have not had one single problem. Its been a terrific car and its a beast in the snow. Hopefully everything works out I hate to see Ford lose a customer but you have to take care of them and if they dont with your car I dont blame you for not wanting another one.

  7. I have an 07 awd with both differentials flushed with Amsoil was going to do the trans case but come to find out you cant its a lifetime fluid. To take it out and change fluid would be a nightmare. I get maybe 1 or 2 mpg better gas thats about it and maybe piece of mind.

  8. First time I have not been able to diagnose my own car. I have an 07 awd and there is a loud creeking noise coming from the front passenger side. Im thinking its either a bad strut mount or a bad bushing but im not sure. Has anyone else had this problem the car only has 48k on it but I do live in Ohio and the roads are abusive to cars around here. Any help would be great thanks.
