  1. Yea but its still sitting in a box on my floor. My wife and I just had our first child and i relized that there is not enough time in a day to do anything. Sorry.
  2. Hahaha. Well my wife saw the light kit and the manual and said we had to get it. Its only cool around the cup holders. Other than that its not realy a big deal. You would need a light interior and white pants to really notice it. http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/imagehosting/thum_16854c5ccc6e6ffb8.jpg
  3. Come on Im trying to help you. Please read my posts. IF YOU USE A PAC SYNC ADAPTOR USE A PAC STEERING WHEEL CONTROL. If your going to use a AXXESS STEERING MODUAL USE A AXXESS SYNC ADAPTOR. so in a nutshell... Stick with one brand and if you want to know why look at the install instructions for each brand and it will tell you. your options PAC Steering wheel adaptor Part# SWI-X Sync Unit Part# MS-FRD1 AXXESS Steering wheel adaptor Part# ASWC Sync Unit Part# AFSI-01
  4. I still dont see a sync interface. I see 2 links going to the same place. The link show a UNIVERSAL STEERING WHEEL CONTROL INTERFACE. Its a axxess aswc that could work AFSI-01 sync interface. So yes thats the rout i took as well. So good luck with the install

    Floor Mats

You could install any aftermarket dead pedal you wanted. Thats not the big deal it still doent do anything to save the carpet.
  6. Im working on istalling mine right now. Im still wating for a great deal on a new double din head unit. I noticed your ebay links for the install kits. They were not complete If your going to keep Sync. No i have not found a good place to buy things i just look for clearance. Ive put much thought into how my system and how it will all go together. These are the questions you need to ask your self (Q) Do you want to keep the Sync Feature in the car? (Yes) You will need to decide on what Sync interface you want to install. Right now i know of two on the market. Ill get into it a bit. (No) Then you will need the radio harness to avoid cutting wires. on the car. The harness connects the after market nav system wires to plug into your car. (Easy Way Out) (Q) Do you want to keep the controles on the steering wheel? (Yes) Then you need to decide what head unit you are using. Some of the Contole adaptos are brand specific and some are learning controles. Another side note is if you decided to keep the Sync then you will want to buy the same brand Steering wheel adaptor as the Sync Modual. (No) Then just hook up the radio using the radio harness and your done. After you decide on that. you can decide what way to go. Ill tell you my set up. I decided to go with keep sync. I loved the PAC Sync Modual PAC MS-FRD1 but its pricy so i found a Axxess AFSI-01 on clearance so i went that rout. so i decided to go with a Pioneer head unit so now i need to buy a axxess pioneer steering wheel audi control adaptor. I have a silver dash so I bought a Scosche Dash Adaptor in silver. Now all i need is a crab. Hope this helps

    Floor Mats

The oem Fusion mats are nice but they dont cover the dead pedal. I have them and they work well but the carpet still gets dirty. http://www.cargurus.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Fusion-floor-mat.jpg

  9. "autoxr1" Someone asked how I did it in another thread, so posting here in Exterior Mods. I started by hunting for a suitable color. I wanted to try to match the titanium metallic shade that is found on the lower rear valence of the Sport (similar shade on the steering wheel). This is warmer than a standard silver metallic. I found a shade of Rustoleum Professional Enamel at Home Depot called Stainless Steel (#7519) that appeared to have the look I wanted. It turned out to be a good match -- has some gold metalflake in it. Also complemented my dark chrome which is on the warm side. I did not remove the fog lights to paint them. Just put the front of the car on jack stands to get it up to working height, and then masked around the bezel portion that I wanted painted. The curves are tough to follow with the edge of the masking tape, so I covered the whole bezel to surround intersection and then used an X-Acto knife to trim away the extra tape. I also covered the whole front of the car with newspaper to protect against overspray. The paint was on the thin side, so I hit it with 6 - 8 coats to get the color I wanted and hide all the black. It dried to a satin finish rather than high gloss, which I consider an added bonus. I did not clear-coat it, as I like the present finish and figure that Rustoleum should hold up to the elements. Here are some pix: BEFORE MASKED SPRAYED AFTER
  10. If you want to add 6x9s in the rear deck the speaker wires run up the "B" pillar. You can tap into them there and then run them along the door sill and behind the seats. I would recommend a amp though so you don't damage the head unit. Its a bad idea to hook a third set of speakers to your factory radio is because it will put too much of a load on the radio. The front door speakers are not of the best quality. If your looking to get better sound you might consider replacing them as an alternative.
  11. Thanks i see the tab but i soon realized that i need to remove the chrome bits from the front of the car via tabs and to get the black grill out i either need to remove bumper cover or pull it out just enough to get it out.
  12. Any one use a sync module for keeping sync with aftermarket radio. I just bought a Axxess AFSI-01 and I'm a bit concerned about the sync controls on the steering wheel. I will also be installing a steering wheel / radio interface and i was wondering if i was going to screw up the sync control by installing the other. This is the unit I'm installing a nav unit but still debating Pioneer avic or Kenwood. Ive grown to like the sync and feel it works better than the built in additions on the head unit. The head units cater to ipods and i use Zune. I understand that i need to keep the aftermarket radio on aux when using the zune player but do i need to put it on aux when i use the phone or receive a phone call. So many questions i hate to dive into it with no clue. I started looking at the wires and i think i have it figured out for a avic unit but i still don't know if its going to work the way i want. 13. Got my lower sport grill in today. Ill let you know how it goes.
  14. I ordered the sport lower grill and chrome surround. It didn't cost as much as i thought it would. The parts are on order so I have not got into removing the old one. I was just wondering if any one else has done this and if their were any tricks on getting the old one out or do i need to remove the bumper cover. Thanks
