Well after 6 hours of tons of errors my car is back to its old self...up to my daughter's house and back 100%on EV!!! The first error was getting Standard instead of Extended License which I found out when I got an error message. Then I deleted the program from the laptop thinking I could install a new Extended license, but it would not let me get a new license with the same e-mail address . So I got out the old laptop and paid for a one year Extended License and went back out to the car and it said there were no drivers for the OBD11 (the windows 10 was automatic). it took an hour to install drivers on the old Vista windows. In the mean time I tried everything to install an Extended License on the new laptop and for some reason the program would not load, I even tried to turn off my Security system...no download possible. When I plugged in everything with the old laptop, the thing turned off for low battery. I turned on the hybrid and plugged in the laptop in the 120 volt outlet in the back seat. It took 10 seconds for the reset and I am now a very happy camper

Thanks Allen for your offer of help. I have downloaded the software and have the device from Amazon and after playing with my computer and watching your great step by step procedure hundreds of times, I have gained enough confidence to attempt to reset my clock. If I run into a block I will seek your advice. Again Thanks!

Allen, I am interested in having you walk me through the reset process. I have ordered the odb2 device from amazon (delivery last week of January) and have a windows lap top, but being old and dyslectic I have a terrible time reading and following your excellent procedure for resetting the clock. I find the thought of messing with my Hybrid terrifying for fear that I might do real damage with a slip up. The Ford service department near me called yesterday and said they will fix my car as soon at the Ford Motor Co engineers tell them what to do. This has been going on since my 2010 Hybrid stopped being a hybrid and I have little faith that their fix will come any time soon.

My 2010 FFH with 20,000 miles is making a noise when ever I brake after changing directions. Backing out of the garage in the morning there is a loud click sound when stopping and when I brake next after going forward I hear the same noise. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

My mpg chart was too big to attach. Here are some details from the chart: 8/20/2010 miles 663.9 mpg 45.704 10/12/2010 " 629.8 " 45.073 12/10/2010 " 519 " 37.671 1/30/2011 " 452.8 " 31.767 4/15/2011 " 503.5 " 35.309 7/22/2011 " 668.7 " 45.493 11/28/2011 " 549.2 " 39.361 1/5/2012 " 541.5 " 36.877 The full chart clearly shows a smoth curve of usage dependant on tempreture. Again we do not use either the heater or airconditioning.

I could not post my data...will try later

Unfortunately most of my driving (90%) is on short trips to town and back and averages 2 to 3 miles at a time. My winter gas usage is at best 38 mpg over 4 months. From April to October my gas usage is better than 45 mpg. I conclude that the difference is that over shot trips the ICE must be used to heat the engine (I do not use the heater on short trips) and this is why many find the difference between summer and winter gas usage.

Unless you live on top of a very long hill and don't have to go home. Down hill makes elec. without gas if you don't drive to get to the top first.

2010 Fusion Hybrid. Battery problems?
prdobson replied to escapingwinter's topic in Ford Fusion Hybrid
Is there any problem putting a quality charger on the 12 volt battery while all wires are still attached? If there is a problem, what is the procedure for charging the 12 volt battery without changing the settings by removing the positive or negative battery wires. -
Yesterday I loaded my 20 ft kayak on the Thule roof rack and drove 3 miles at 35mph to a launch at a sit near home. Trip was 41 mpg going and 49 mpg returning. No great difference with or without the roof load
