  1. I have found this brake switch but am unsure if it is the correct one. Anyone have any ideas as to where I can find the exact part number for the switch? I've been doing some research with not much luck. http://www.jcwhitney.com/2006-2010-ford-fusion/oe-replacement-brake-light-switch/p3059847d17640y2006-2010j1.jcwx
  2. I see. Do you have any suggestion as to where I can find the part number for the switch? I've been looking around online but haven't had much luck. Is it advisable to replace the switch yourself? I'm assuming it's only a mechanical issue and that it couldn't be too difficult.
  3. I am having a similar issue and was wondering if you found a part number ever?
  4. Hello all, I'm new to the forum and am excited to peruse the different sections and see what information I can learn from it all. Currently, I am facing a bit of an issue, though. I moved out to California (from Oklahoma) for the summer and have been using my parking brake a good deal. One day I pulled it back to engage it and after 3 seconds of being engaged it flung down to its resting, disengaged position and made a loud noise while doing so. I believe the cause was that I used to pull back the brake lever while pressing in the release button on the end because I didn't know it pulled back on its own. Now, the parking brake indicator light won't turn off and the warning sound for the parking brake goes off for several minutes before turning off. The light won't go off and my cruise control no longer functions. I can press the cruise control "on" button and this registers in the dash, but it will not allow me to activate it. My main concern right now is to have my cruise control working for my 22 hour drive back to OK coming soon, but I plan on eventually fixing the whole of the problem. I have a 2010 Fusion Sport. Any suggestions as to what may be the actual problem from a mechanical standpoint and what I should do to fix it? Thanks
  5. Thanks, everybody. All of this information is extremely helpful... especially BBF's! I think I shall go with some sort of durablend that's located in the owner's manual once I hit 5k miles. Thanks!
  6. Hey all! I purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport 3.5L in late July. I'm curious as to what type of oil I should use for the first car's oil change, so that it is comparable to the factory oil. I may just have this belief because I want everything, within my power, to go right for my first car. Should I use a certain type (synthetic, blend, conventional) for the first? I realize the differences between the two. My brother mentioned to me that I should post on a forum or call around dealers to ask which one is best suited. I bought the car out-of-state and don't have a free factory oil change. I am at 4,100 miles. I believe the owner's manual states that I should change it at 5k. Is there anything special I should do? Thanks Mark
