  1. So I've got a 2008 SEL and my "L" fell off my trunk and is now lost to the harsh Alaskan world. Does anyone know where I can find a new set of decals to put on there? I'm not ready to debadge because I might be selling the car in a year or so and I don't want to decrease the value any. But any advice would be helpful, thanks.
  2. Alright I have a 2008 Ford Fusion SEL and the low beams suck. I mean they really are terrible. Right now I have the best regular bulbs money can buy and when it's really dark out I can't see s**t. So I have basic electrical knowledge so I'm sure I could put in a HID kit but I've never bought one before and I have some questions. What bulb intensity should I buy? Are they illegal? What kit is the best? Where should I buy? Do they come with high and low beams? And finally how much cash am I looking at dropping on these things? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  3. I'm sorry to say it but you got ripped off. The plugs on the V6 are the easiest I've ever seen in a front wheel drive vehicle. They almost all sit on top of the engine. You don't have to remove the engine mounts or go in from the fender or anything. Just pop the intake off plus a couple other small things, take the coils off and remove and install the new plugs. I did mine myself in about an hour or so.
  4. The update is for the 911 Assist/Vehicle health report install. You need to go to a dealer and have them install this update. Now with that said I'm in the same boat as you, I haven't gone in yet because I don't know if it's really worth it and what the health report does. I know the 911 assist calls 911 through your bluetooth connected cell phone if you're in a car accident. But I'm not sure what the health report entails.
  5. I've been thinking about putting on a hitch myself. Will it void the warranty though? The manual specificly states "do not use the car for towing".
  6. Which one is better? They are about the same price. Any experience will be helpful.
  7. I know this has been asked before but I've got a 2008 Ford Fusion SEL and I would like to squeeze a little extra hp out of it. Has anyone done this? If so what did you use and how much did it cost? I'm thinking about a K&N CAI and I would really like a cat-back exhaust system but they're expensive. Could I just change the mufflers for a little better sound and HP? If so which ones?
  8. I really like those rims, what kind are they?
  9. Finally the answer I wanted, thank you very much.
  10. I own an 08 Fusion SEL and the manual says you cannot tow anything with it. You can buy a hitch and the engine has enough power for a small trailer I think. But if the frame isn't designed to tow you may want to be careful with how much you tow. And the transmission is something to worry about too.
  11. So I own a 2008 Ford Fusion SEL, and it has the 3.0 6-speed in it. I'm up to 53,000 miles and I want to do a tranny fluid change. However I can't find what fluid to put in it or where to buy it other than the dealer. Before everyone jumps in and say JUST LOOK AT THE MANUAL, I already have. The manual says it recommends : Motorcraft Premium Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-8-QAW / WSS-M2C924-A. so I found that on the motorcraft website but it doesn't say what type of fluid it is. For instance it's not Mercon V or anything like that so I can't just go to Napa and pick the fluid off the shelf. Can anyone help? Where can I buy this fluid other than the dealer? Or what do I look for in an auto parts store? Also, are there any other things I should look at while doing this tune up? I'm not sure how long the plugs and wires and such are good for. Thanks.
  12. I have a 2008 Ford Fusion SEL V6 with a little over 50,000 miles on it and it needs some suspension work. I can tell it's about time to get new struts/shocks because it's been starting to ride rougher and bottom out a little easier (damn New Jersey roads). Anyways I was wondering if it has rear struts or just shocks? I do all of the work to my own cars, with my dad's expert help, but unfortunatley I don't know a whole lot about suspension. The reason I ask is because I can buy front struts without a problem but I can't seem to find rear ones. Thanks.
  13. Ok so I have a 2008 Fusion SEL. But it's the base SEL, the one without the moon roof or satellite radio. My question is how can I add satellite radio to it? is the antenna already in there and I just don't have the receiver or something? Any advice from people who have made the switch or have experience in this sort of thing would be greatly appreciated.
