  1. Wow! A cold air system will do what for these cars? Probably nothin' much without changin' the cam timing, ignition timing curve, air/fuel mix, fuel pressure, and of course the injector pulse/dwell so on so on! That's a lot of crap to mess with for what...? 10 ponies? Okay...maybe 12 ponies. Not me. I'll wait for a supercharger or a quick spoolin' turbo before I screw with all that stuff! By the way...what gains did Steeda say you could EXPECT after installing one of those systems? Just curious.
  2. That's about on par with what I'm gettin' after about 5000 on mine. 18.4 is about the best.....SO FAR! Let me just say, in all fairness though: My right knee gets sore drivin' mine!! I'm steadily puttin' the nose in the wind, layin' them ears back and givin' it the leather!! HEAHHH!!
  3. I'll take that 285 HP upgrade thank you very much!! I wonder if that's just a ROM flash?Or maybe a little cam advance/retard tweaking as well as a reflash?
  4. Okay...I'll bite. Just WHAT is the "Advance Trac" you speak of? Are you talkin' about the traction control light at the top left of the dash display? Secondly. Do you have AWD or fwd?
  5. DITTO! Also the aspect ratio of the "green" tires will differ greatly from the "performance" tire. Taller sidewalls give a softer ride and SOMETIMES(with a harder compound) longer tire life and mileage per gallon.
  6. Your right about the waste of money part. It would seem that someone who has owned that many cars(racecars?) would get more mileage out of their money with a synthetic product! Besides, who can trust someone who says they don't do burn outs, manual shifts and the usual raggin' on it then turns around and says it needs MORE BRAKE, STIFFER REAR BAR,coffee can exhaust and so on? PLEASE! By the way SpeedM -I'm glad you're enjoyin' it as well ! I'm lovin' every manual shiftin' ,tire cryin' minute in mine!!! It may not pull a full G on the skidpad-but it'll sure pull a hard F'n turn :hysterical2: ! Life is fun with the traction control turned off!!!!
  7. Mine says it's a 17.5 gallon tank as well. Those onboard "detective" readouts are just there to give you something to do with your hands, besides sharpening your chin! I don't believe that I average 16.3 MPG ALL the time. No more than I believe that the stupid "miles to empty" gremlin knows crap about my right foot!! I HAVE driven my Sport to well past the "0 miles to empty " lie on the readout. I mean, something north of 30 miles past it. So...yep, I think Ford just don't want ya settin' on the side of the road makin' their cars look all shitty sittin' there with the hood up and stuff! What do Y'all think? It's just as easy to keep 'em full as it is to run 'em empty.
  8. Man,.. I see you live in McKinney. I live in Mesquite, so there aint but 30 or 40 so miles separating us. I'll be willin' to bet ya that if you roll down your window and wait 2.2 seconds you'll realize that it's HOT! Damn HOT, and that you REALLY DON'T need an "onboard weatherman" to tell ya to roll up the glass and turn on that awesome FORD air conditioning!!!!! As for being Blue Oval proud,.. I've NEVER bought anything from Chevrolet OR Chrysler in the past. Nor will I in the future! Especially when I became an unwilling owner of their respective turd manufacturing plants and advertising spoofs by mere proxy of being a taxpayer!! Enough said? I'm just NOT real sure why you mentioned the "government" paying Ford...for...something? That ,was you, wasn't it? I have the automatic transmission in my Sport, with NO dual climate control or other "electronic" package as "standard OR optional" equipment, surprising to say, I too have no "external tempuature readout" on display in or around my dash area! I had one of those in my 2001 Lariat Crew Cab 4x4 dually. It lasted about three years before it succumbed to the Texas heat you so wish to chronicle! Chill brother! Like Papaw said-"Don't sweat the petty sh$t .....and don't pet the sweaty sh$t!" By the way, did you EVER stop to think that any OR ALL of these "brochures" might have been farmed off to Shrelanka, or East Jesus, Uganda someplace for printing AND proof-reading?That's 'bout all I got to say 'bout that.
  9. I bought our Sport for my wife...she just loved it and had to have it! I never even drove it ,until we got it home. That's when I realized it had a Zgate shifter, a big throat and sticky shoes! Yep, Daddy likes to hear it breathe and I keep it on the wood!! Damn it this thing has got some nards!! Big Mama is too scared to stomp it and listen to the Goodyears cry! I KEEP the traction control turned off and worry 'bout the splinters in my right foot later :hysterical2: on! So... yep, it's a manly ride that women don't HAVE to push to it's limits to enjoy. Me, I've ALWAYS been kinda pushy that way! I can't imagine this motor with a supercharger or quick spoolin' turbo on it ! The power band would come and go so quick you'd over rev or miss every shift.
