  1. My top priority is a QUIET tire The company my wife works for will be covering the cost, so price isn't a big concern. She is not an aggressive driver handling isn't high on the list either. She has winter tires as well. She is a little ocd about a quiet ride because she is prone to headaches & I like a quiet ride myself. What do you guys recommend? I searched ratings @ tirerack, 1010tires, and did a lot of googling & it seems like one mans quiet tire can be another mans howling nightmare. Her fusion is an 06 with 17s The tires that seemed to get decent reviews for low road noise so far are -Michelin Primacy MXM4 -Hankook H727 -Yokohama Avid Ascend -Goodyear Assurance Comfortread Any other recommendations?
  2. My 06 currently has Michelin pilots (as summer tires) which are extremely loud (probably due to wear) & I will need to replace them before I do the swapover, has anyone tried the new Defenders? High on my priority list is a quiet ride, has anyone have any input on the defenders or recommendations of other super quiet tires?
  3. Basically what the title says, so just to narrow down what I DO know: -Coolant is topped up -Shouldn't be any air in the coolant lines as I bled it originally assuming that was the problem -Heater works great while driving -Car reaches normal operating temperature quickly, but doesnt overheat or run cool, so thermostat 'should' be fine? **but dealership is convinced thats the problem (which makes no sense to me unless thermostats work differently than they did in the past) Any suggestions? Should I re-bleed the coolant lines or do a coolant flush maybe lines/heater core corroded & only allowing enough hot coolant to flow through at higher RPMs? Maybe water pump is shot & only pumping enough coolant through the heater core at higher RPMs? (but if so wouldnt there be a higher chance that the car would be overheating?) Driving me nuts, I am usually fairly handy when it comes to cars, this is my wifes 06 and everything works awesome except for this one recurring problem, dealership has been no help. Other than taking advantage of my wifes lack of automotive knowledge.
  4. I am wondering if anyone else has this "problem" I love my 06SEL and everything works great, only thing that has grown old for me is how it lurches when I take off from a standstill, if it was a 520hp shelby mustang I could understand it, but I will touch the gas like a normal average driver and it really takes off, I am a fairly handy person and was wondering if there was anything I could modify to smoothen it out a little. (and yes its an automatic, I am not popping the clutch :P
  5. Greetings, new guy here, just been browsing the web for winter tires for my wifes 06fwd and from my research the best value, reviews out there seems to be these 2 tires, just wondering if anyone on here has run them and what you think of them, which you would choose, I am also open to other winter tire suggestions, but dont want to pay the money for tires like Nokians, or cheap out on walmart Nexens (not that they arent good, just have mixed reviews about longevity.) any suggestions would help greatly. I also considered Bridgestone Blizzaks but have read that they are great in ice, but not as good in deeper snow. Michelin X Ice Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice
