  1. I have a set of 4 almost new wheels and Tires that are in mint condition. They came off a 2010 Ford Fusion SE. These were on the car for 1 month when the car developed transmission problems and I got rid of it. Paid over $1300 and they have been just sitting in my basement collecting dust. Asking $900 I am in Northeastern Pa. Tires are 1 size larger and wheels 1 inch wider but I had no clearance problems on a 2010 Fusion SE. Wheels: RS JK5 wheels, Crystal Silver centre with stainless steel rim, 18X8 Bolt Pattern: 5-114 CB: 73.1 http://www.foxwheels.eu/DE/rs/jk5-silver.html http://www.mswuk.com/rs/jk5-silver.html Tires: Falken ZIEX ZE912 235/45Z18 94W, as previously stated the tires are mint as well with less than 200 miles on them.
  2. Con_fusion, i would recommend you try to get them to replace the entire transmission, i am not sure you will get them to do it but let them know you are aware the root cause is the bore hole that holds the valve body and not the valve body itself. As I said in a previous post "the valve body burns up because the bore hole that holds it was drilled incorrectly, it ended up being an oval at one end instead of a circle so fluid leaked around it. The 10B15 PCM changed the valve movement so it would not open(or close) completely to attempt to avoid transmission fluid leaking around it but its a band aide at best and the long term reliability of the transmission is still in question. Ford is just betting they will fail after the warranty runs out but make no mistake about it they will fail." The only way to really fix it is to replace the transmission body which has the bore hole, which really means replacing the entire transmission. Also the 10B15 PCM is changing the shifting pattern to be less than optimal so performance and gas mileage is negatively affected. Best of Luck, i got no where with them.
  3. Mphilleo, i think you are doing the right thing, in fact i would stay away from the 2010s all together, i had one built after 3/10 and it had all kind of problems. I broke my own rule of never to buying a vehicle in its first model year, although the fusion was not a total redesign from 2009 there were significant changes. I don't see as many complaints about the 2011s so they may have corrected some of the issues, but I don't know for sure.
  4. Mphilleo, something does not appear right, they would only apply the 10B15 PCM to the vehicles that have the valve body problem which are the ones built on or before 3/10. If this is in fact one of those vehicles and the transmission was not replaced I would be wary of it. The root cause is the bore hole that holds the valve body was drilled incorrectly, it ended up being an oval at one end instead of a circle so fluid leaked around it. The 10B15 PCM changed the valve movement so it would not open(or close) completely to attempt to avoid transmission fluid leaking around it but its a band aide at best and the long term reliability of the transmission is still in question. Ford is just betting they will fail after the warranty runs out but make no mistake about it they will fail. The build date is right on the vehicle identification plate (actually just a sticker) that can be seen when you open the driver side door and look down inside the lower pillar between the front and back doors. You should have them send you a picture of it, build date is in MM/YY format, it may be MM/YYYY but its obvious what it is.
  5. Probably not a good idea, i am not sure if this person posted on this site but you can read here his experience and i doubt they fixed it with the 2011s. http://forums.automobilemag.com/70/7761889/ford/2010-ford-fusion-transmission/page9.html
  6. Rejester, I had a 2010 Fusion SE 3.0 that had a number of issues, one of the being exactly the whine you describe, but mine did it even when the outside temperature was warmer. I went back and forth with the dealer and Ford "screw the" Customer Care on this and the other issues for 6 months with the same "its normal" BS. I know other cars don't do it. As for the serpentine belt tensioner, that is a problem with the 4cyls, I had them look at it anyway, was told its the overhead cam on the 6cyls, it may very well be but its not right. My car also had the transmission slip problem and after speaking with an attorney I just decided to get rid of it at a $$ loss but please post if you ever do get it resolved, I would be interested in what it really is.
  7. Jazz, only posting to answer your question as i know you are interested, this is absolutely my last post. i put about 300 miles (mostly highway) on and it has not done the 2-3 shift flare but like i said its harsh, the engine/transmission noise, the shifting, the ride. i bought a fusion because a friend has one and its really a nice car, same as mine, 2010 SE V6, but you would never believe when driving them they are the same, i think they dropped mine off the assembly line when they were building it, in any case like i said, i'm really done, just have to wait for the right time and then get rid of it, i am willing to take a big dollar loss at this point, it has been a very disappointing experience and i will never have anything to do with ford again because of it. good luck with yours, i do believe most are good cars. Merry Christmas and God Bless America!
  8. Yes I know I said I was not going to post again, but I just realized that ctc1970 is Ford's answer to the problem, instead of actually fixing the problem and making it right they hire guys like this to spew out propaganda to try and create the perception that everything is fine. Not sure this guy and Ford know who they are messing with, we are a lot smarter as consumers. The sad thing is Ford could have really hit a homerun if they manned up and "made it right", they would have built up trust which is invaluable and l as well as others would have been a Ford customer for life. Just like Toyota they will take a hit, whether that changes their corporate attitude or not is up to them.
  9. ctc1970, You sound like you work for Ford and someone that can be trusted so I am hoping you can help me. Based on what appeared to be creditable research I bought a 2010 Ford Fusion SE V6 but the car I purchased has problems. I was amazed to find out that the Ford Fusion got such good ratings and “car of the year” even though there was a know problem with the 6F35 transmission, oh well, so much for creditable research and comparing apples. My car has a build date of 5/10 so it should not have the valve body transmission flaw that those with earlier build dates have but nevertheless the car sounds and runs harshly and the transmission slips when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. I know Ford does not want to use the word "slip" so they call it a "flare" but make no mistake about it, it is a slip. I also understand that some cars of every make and model will have problems and it’s really the way the company backs up their product and corrects the issues with those vehicles. Well it has been 6 long months of trips back and forth to 2 different dealerships, applying TSBs, and opening a case with the Ford Customer Care Center. I was told last week by an honest service technician that the car definitely is not right but because it is not producing any codes there is nothing they can do about it. I have given Ford every chance to make it right with no resolution. As it appears you are an employee of Ford Motor Company and have such confidence in them you must know some means of resolving this that the rest of us are not privy too. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Forgive me for my sarcasm but I had enough and in all seriousness I am sure the Fusion is a good automobile, I clearly just got a bad one but Ford really needed to step up to the plate and do something, even if its allowing me to trade it in on another one at a reasonable loss, not the rip off the dealership offered, and they are just not doing it. My last post, my last Ford. Merry Christmas and God Bless America! We need it!
  10. Fordtech, The ones with the valve body problem were the 2010s built job 1 till 3/10, mine was after that so it should not have that problem but it still has problems. In any case I got back from my road trip and it has not done the 2-3 shift flare yet but its still a disappointing car. I traded an 03 Camry V6 which was much smoother running and smoother shifting, the Fusion just seems to be a harsher sounding and shifting car, maybe I just got a bad one, but I'm done with Ford, when the right time comes along I'll get rid of the car. Good luck everyone, thanks for all the good info, have a Merry Christmas and God bless America.
  11. I picked the car up yesterday from the new dealer, they applied the latest TSB, and will be going on a business trip with it the next couple of days, i will post my findings on Saturday when i get back, i am not expecting much. But if it is true the 2011s are good, then that tells me its mechanical and not software, otherwise they would have just applied the 2011 software.
  12. good info Jazz, thx. I stopped by a different Ford Dealership on my way to work this morning (lost any confidence and trust from where i bought the car) and spoke to service mgr. about the issues and the TSB #10-21-9 you posted. I made an appt for tues 11/30 to have it applied, i'll post the results afterwards.
  13. Please disregard my previous post, took the car out this evening and had to get on it a bit when cold pulling out into traffic, guess what, 2nd to 3rd transmission flare, stick a fork in me, i'm done, had enough
  14. I had the TSB 09-18-3 applied back in August with 750 miles on the car but the car was built after 3/10 so the 10B15 programming did not apply. It seemed the help some of the issues but the flare was still there. After the continued run around from the dealership I brought it to a transmission shop to get their opinion and they suggested changing the transmission fluid even though it was a new car. I didn't do it at first because i felt this was a Ford issue and they needed to address it but finally gave up and last month i had the fluid changed with the stock Ford Mercon LV and a bottle of LUCAS OIL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID CONDITIONER. Initially the flare still occurred but was much less severe and after a couple of weeks was gone. Been about 2 weeks now with no flare and the car is really running and shifting well. For those who have the flare problem and cannot get a resolution from Ford you may want to try just having the fluid changed without the Lucas, they claim it will not void a new car warranty but I am not so sure about that, I just had enough and was willing to try it.
