  1. sanford.brad@gmail.com The Navi unit in the pic. seems to NOT be Sat ready... Where it says (AM FM FM2 CD) It would say (AM FM FM2 CD SAT or AUX ) So I don t think it will work for you. As for the Job 1 and Job 2 as it applys to Sirius, it would be Job 1 or Job 2 2007 MY. 2006 MY Fusion Milan Zephyr had Job 1 and job 2 also but had nothing to do with the sound system. As a side note if your Zeph has a small "ramp" below the gas peddel that would make it a job 2 if not its a job 1.
  2. Overall nice Job. I would have liked to seen the Fusions 3.0L and the 6 speed. But other than that not bad. I would not drive a 2007 but the 2008 with the new body and inside... Also love the fact that the green lights on the dash are gone and the Ford box of a stereo. The best part of the new dash is the Blue lights and the nice center stack. I read that the price will be going down about $1,100.00 and they added a lot of saftey as standard. That would make a 2008 Escape XLT 4x4 V-6 with Moon Roof Sirius Sat all powers, Alloys, and all the saftey (Side Air Bags, Saftey canopy, Advance Trac, RSC, ABS, Trac control, 4 wheel disc) standard for around 25K MSRP. That is a much better value than todays Escape.
  3. I am not 100% sure but I think you would have to buy a kit from parts that will upgrade your nav unit that you have already. They were about 350 the last time I did one. However there were some 2006's that would it would not work on. Does your navi unit have a button the say AUX?? If so it may be able to take the add on Sat unit. As for this ebay nav unit I do not think it will help you do what you want.
  4. This should help you guys that want to try the Air Box Mod! Stock Air Box 1st remove the MAFS. Pull the red clip up and pull it off. Remove the top half of the Air box and bend it back out of your way. Remove the lower half of the air box and the tube that goes into the fender. Just pull up on the bottom of the air box. It is mounted in rubber. It is not bolted on. Once thats out you can see the tube that goes into the lower air box. Use a flat screw driver to remove the tube from the air box. I put the air box back in to show you that you can stop there if you want. As you can see the lower air box does not connect anymore with the tube off the upper air box. This will also make it quicker to replace the tube for dealer service trips. If you want to remove the whole thing like I did keep going! If you wish to remove the whole damm thing remove the 4, 7mm bolts under the front bumper in front of the driver side wheel. Bend it back out of your way. To remove the lower half of the air box remove 2, 13mm bolts on the left side and 1, 13mm bolt on the right side. It will come right out. This is what the system looks like outside the car. I would recomend you also install a high flow filter like a K&N to top all this off. I feel a better responce and a cool sounding intake with the MOD. I realy dont think it gives you much if any HP. The best part is if you dont like it put it back. It should take about a half hour or so. Good Luck!!! After... As you can see this mod realy opens up the intake.
  5. Well in a lot of ways we (dealers) look to the same web sources you guys do. FordMoCo does not tell us much sooner than the tell the public. As for what I see in the 2008 Fusion..... I think the Fusion Hybrid will be out aswell as some minor changes. I have heard that they are working on a Hi Pro Fusion that could go two ways. 1st is the 3.5L with 265+ Hp AWD and the like. 2nd is 2.3L DIT in the Mazda CX7, Speed 3, Speed 6. I think I side more with option 1. Ford says the 3.5L is about the same size as the 3.0L. So stay tuned..... As for the 2 door. I would say not in this body style but maybe in the next. FordMoCo is working overtime on new stuff. The Edge in Dec, The 08 Escape and 08 Superduty Jan 07, The "people mover" end of 07 or 1st part 08, 08 Focus 08 500 and 08 Freestyle with redone body work and the new 3.5L for 500 and freestyle mid 07, New F-150 in 1st part of 08, and a new small car below Focus sometime after that..... At least thats all I know of right now... Steve
  6. Send me a PM with you Vin number and I will see what I can do. I have only heard of the V-6 Tranny shift problems....
  7. I have not realy done anything to the Explorer (wifes car and she will not let me, I just pay for it, gas it, clean it... you know the deal) The air box has two things I removed. You realy only need to remove one. If you open your hood and look at the air box. Just to the right of the filter area there is a yube that goes into the drivers side front fender. That is what you remove. That will take the air inlet from about 3" to about 6". Once that is out you will see the other 1/2 of what I removed. Once the uper tube is gone look down in the lower front fender area and you will see a big emty box that was hooked to the inlet you just removed. The two of them together is what keeps the air coming into the engine from getting to loud. However if you just remove the top tube you can give it a try and if you do not like the sound just put it right back. it only takes a minute. You just use a flat head screw driver to unclip the clips and pull up and out. Also if you should need to bring it into the dealer just pop it right back on. The sound is cool to me. Itsounds the same during normal tip in, however once you dig into the gas you realy hear it. It almost sounds like you did a cat back! I also put a K&N to complet the faux cold air intake. Let me know what you think. Does this pic help its a little better...
  8. I have had my Fusion for just over six months now. It is a great car!! I had a Mazda 6 before and loved that car to. The Fusion is much more well rounded. My car is a 2006 Fusion SEL V-6 with all options. (MSRP just under $26,500.00) Tungsten Silver with the Black Leather. Mods are Tinted glass, Air Box Mod, (sounds great), K&N filer, Rear Wing, HID look alike H11's. If anyone want the details on the air box mod let me know, it is worth doing!! I can not say enough about this car. I get many people asking me about the car. It has been a BIG hit. The V-6 sounds great (even better with the air box mod :shades: ) Passing power is Great and the 6 Speed is always in the right gear for me. The car handles like no other mid size. If you are into a plain car that will get you from A to B this is NOT it! If you actually enjoy driving, but still need 4 doors get behind the wheel of this car!!! I will post some picks over the week end.
  9. Here some pics of the mods I did to my 2006 SEL V-6. I used the silver star front turns. Thats why you can not see any yellow in the front lights. They are kinda blue clear but when they are on they a yellow just like stock. Here they are on in day light. The head light is as close to HID as it gets. I tried 3 differant kinds before I found these. The others had way to much blue in them. They just looked cheap. I will try to get a pic of these at night. You can see the fogs look a little yellow next to these bright white/blue lights. They are Luminics Titanum white 5,500K in anyone wants to know. This is a pic of the stock air box AFTER I did the air box mod. Looking down standing right by the driver side front wheel. I had a 2004 Mazda 6 before this car and also did it on that. As you can see I also removed the lower resonator but you do not have to. If I had to do it over I would leave it. (I followed the Mazda 6 steps where you have to remove the lower resonator, on Fusion you do not) I had the car for a about 3 hours before I did this mod. Me and my brother were ripping parts out of a brand new car that was not even 1 day old. About 1/2 way through I had one of those WTF am I doing moments :doh copy: By the way it is very much worth doing. Sounds great when your on the gas hard. I dont know if I can say it give more power but seems to give quicker responce. I also use a K&N. I also put on an A/M rear wing. (since there was no OEM in 2006) I though it may be a little to tall but I realy like it now. It also has an LED 3rd brake light and I removed the stock window 3rd brake light. There is nothing worse than havein a brake light in the window and on the wing. That screams add on to me. I will post more Pic's later. Thanks for lookin!!! Anyone with questions about the lights, wing, or air box Mod let me know!
  10. I too work for a Ford Dealer in PA. I also would like to offer my thanks to all you guys and girls for making us safe!! Without you we could not live the life we love. I also am "Hard Core" Ford! I have been around Fords my whole life. We "as dealers and FordMoCo" thank you and all other Ford fans for buying our Cars, Truck, and Suvs!!!
  11. Still have not heard back from my Sirius guy but he did give me what he thought about the Job 1 vs Job 2 Sirius thing. I (and he) think you will be able to add Sirius to a Job 2 car somewhat easy. He thinks the roof ant. is there and you would just need the recever installed..... What the cost would be I am still wowrking on. Seems to me maybe 200??? Just a guess. I will let you all know when I do.
  12. How did you get your pic's in the body of the page. I want to add some pic's but cant seem to get it to work without attachments???
  13. Seems like it may be better to let the dealership do it. Here is the 1st one..... ISSUE: Some 2006 Fusion and Milan vehicles may exhibit a speaker buzz or a squeak / rattle from the door panel area. Speaker buzz or squeak and rattle noises may be caused by the door panel. ACTION: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE Remove door trim panel using Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-05 and by using a standard push pin removal tool (Figure 1). Figure 1 - Article 06-14-16 Remove the six (6) rear grommets from sheet metal (Figures 2 and 3). Use a pick tool to remove the grommets. The tabs are located 90° from the injection marks (small round circle molded into clip) (Figure 4). Figure 2 - Article 06-14-16 Figure 3 - Article 06-14-16 Figure 4 - Article 06-14-16 Figure 5 - Article 06-14-16 Remove six (6) pins from locations (noted by the squares) on door trim panel (Figure 5) and reinstall new push pins. Add 19/32" X 3" (15mm X 75mm) piece of flock tape in locations identified by the rectangles shown in Figure 5: Two (2) on the lower front door trim panel edge and one on lower rear door trim panel edge (Use flock tape 164-R4903 from Rotunda Squeak and Rattle Repair Kit 164-R4900). Remove inside release handle using the WSM, Section 501-14. Add two (2) pieces of 19/32" X 19/32" (15 mm x 15 mm) flock tape 164-R4903 (Figure 6). Use PVC foam 164-R4901 from Rotunda Squeak and Rattle Repair Kit (164-R4900) if flock tape is not available. Figure 6 - Article 06-14-16 Reinstall inner release handle using the WSM, Section 501-14. Remove white foam blocks off the door if they are on the door (Figure 7). Figure 7 - Article 06-14-16 Reinstall door trim panel using the WSM, Section 501-05. ISSUE: Some 2006 Fusion / Milan / Zephyr vehicles may exhibit a vibration or buzzing noise coming from the engine compartment or instrument panel (IP) area. The noise may be heard during light tip-ins at 25-50 MPH (40-80 Km/h). The most common occurrence is at approximately 40 MPH (64 Km/h) at 1500 RPM with the V-6 engine. Some vehicles must be completely warmed up by driving them for 15 minutes before the noise can be heard. ACTION: There are two different root causes that could generate that type of a noise. Use the following Service Procedure to isolate and repair the root cause. SERVICE PROCEDURE Check the lines (brake / fuel / vapor) below the cowl on the right side of master cylinder for grounding to the bulkhead. Ensure the two black plastic clips are properly installed in the bulkhead and that the lines properly installed in clips. The lines are covered with a metal shield which can make them difficult to see without removing parts. Use soft foam material number 164-R4902 from Rotunda Squeak and Rattle Kit (164-R4900) to isolate lines from bulkhead if needed. On V-6 only, inspect the exhaust flex pipe for possible source of noise and replace if necessary. NOTE: FOR STEP 4, USE HOSE CLAMPS AS A TOOL TO HELP PIN POINT THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE NOISE. If concern is still present, follow Workshop Manual, Section 100-04 Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) and repair as necessary. PART NUMBER PART NAME 6E5Z-5G274-AA Exhaust Pipe WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage OPERATION DESCRIPTION TIME 061108A 2006 Fusion/Milan/Zephyr 3.0L: Replace The Exhaust Flex Pipe (Do Not Use With 5246A) 0.7 Hr. MT061108 Claim Additional Labor Required As Actual Time Or Use SLTS Operation If Available Actual Time This is the bulk of the info for these two. I think you should just take it to the dealer. Steve
