  1. There are alot of cars with trunk mounted batteries factory. So if that battery you bought happens to fit one of those cars, it would need to include that vent to be applicable for that application also. I know the two BMW's ive owned have had the batteries in the trunk from the factory like this.
  2. I used to use Amsoil on all my cars, and was even a sales rep for them for quite a few years. But after they doubled there prices, it just wasnt worth it. Ive been using Schaeffers Synthetic in my none turbo cars ever since and cant tell a difference. And its like 3 bux a quart cheaper. I still run the 10/30 turbo formulated Amsoil in my 2 boosted cars though. But thankfully they dont even see a few thousand miles a year. So the expensive oil doesnt really matter. In my work truck, i just get whatever is cheapest or on sale at the auto parts store.
  3. What style of mustang 18 did u get? And how much did you end up paying? I have a set i bought at a sale last year ive yet to figure out if i want to run or not.
  4. You know, most every set of 'Ebay" headlights ive seen for other cars on ebay have looked horribly cheap, and just stuck out as Rice to me. But that set actually looks pretty good from the pics they supply. Id love to see what they look like on an ectual members car.
  5. I have the Magnaflow set up on my 2.3 and was also worried about it sounding like a honda. But it hasnt been an issue at all. Its actually pretty deep. But my intake is louder and over takes the exhaust sound still.
  6. My rears on my 2005 went out before the fronts at 65,000 miles. The fronts i didnt have to replace till 75,000 miles. The 06+ cars have even larger brakes, So those should last even longer.

    Turbo

The Mazda guys have no issue turboing the same engines in there car's. There's even quite a few that have done it. Its just the younger crowd that owns Mazdas seem a little more willing to spend that amount of money on there cars.
  8. Yea, on my 6 i have to remove that entire plastic under tray as there as no access holes other wise.
  9. The bell housings are the same. But what i was talking about is the locations of the mounts between both tranny's, and If the axles are the same diameter and spline count.
  10. Ive had a bulb go out, And DDM sent me a free Pair to replace the one bad one. My best friend Scott had one of the Ballast go bad on his set (which was already over 4 years old) and they sent him a replacement no questions asked. If they didnt stand behind there warranty, i wouldnt have continued to buy from them. If that was the case, id just save a few dollars, and just buy them off ebay.
  11. I wonder if the spin on filter conversion for the 2.3's work on the 2.5's the same. That way you dont have to risk it using those internal oil filters.
  12. Looks good. doesnt stick out as being lowered, But also doesnt have that 5 inch wheel gap OEM look either!
  13. I agree. It sounds like you just need a valve cover gasket man. They include new seals for around your spark plugs in the kit. And the entire job wont even take you an hour. Its very easy on the 4 banger.
  14. the rubber hose? any parts store in town will have the part actually. Just ask for a 90's protege rear brake hose for a protege with drums. Its the exact same hose. Or if your not in a huge rush, there are tons of Stainless steel braided options for liek $20-25 shipped. Corksport is where i got my last one.
  15. All 3 of my current cars are running DDM tuning ones. There cheap, and they have a lifetime warranty hey actually stand behind.
  16. The MazdaSpeed trans is a entirely different family of transmisson. And it has an entire ECU used just to handle it torque and power delivery. Its way to involved to want to use in any swap. A 09+ 6 speed MT from a 2.5 car would be a much more suitable replacement. But even that might involve a ton of work. No one has ever tried the swap that ive seen. The 5 speed MT in our cars is still an updated version of the old Mazda G series family of transmission. Which they have been using since the 80's. We have been doing 5th gear swaps in them just as long. What im not sure of is if these newer versions can still share the older versions 5th gears. If so, we have a bottomless pit of OEM options from other cars.
  17. never been done that ive seen. Might be easy, Might be a ton of work. You would also need the shifter assembly and the shifter cables at a minimum to be able to work. Assuming everythign else bolts up. But thats a really big assumption i wouldnt bet on.
  18. It really could be anything, Thats exactly why the light comes on. Its telling you there's a fault, and to check it. Any auto parts store usually does free CEL reading. You just have to ask.
  19. Love the speed6 brakes. Still one of my favorite mod's ive done myself. And those exhast tips look GREAT!!! The only thing im not a fan of is the rear mud flaps sticking out so much from the body.
  20. Yes, there all the same family of engine.
  21. as soon as i saw the title of this thread, that exact mazda6 came to mind.
  22. the mazda6 guys do, and its the same engine with very slight differences. so do the focus guys. and the mazda3 guys. the fusions are really the only ones i can think of that havent boosted a 2.3 yet.
  23. Check out the mazda6 forums. those guys are turbo'ing there 2.3's all over the place. and its pretty much the same motor with very few little differences. They just use the OEM speed3 and speed6 turbo parts with a custom front mount most of the time.
  24. I did the screw on oil filter conversion on my 2.3. It was one of the very first mod's i did when i bought my car back in 06. After so many issue's with the internal oil filters, I just didnt feel comfortable risking it.
