  1. So the actuator door doesnt move when pressing the buttons on the panel. The light on the panel jumps, the door never switches from defrost (top), dash, or feet (bottom). Its just stuck in the dash postions. I was looking around and found this thread:
  2. Hi there. Joined this forum a while back for ideas. I own a 2010 Ford Fusion SE, which I’ve had for about 8 years now. Bought it used with about 23k miles, looking just like every other one out there. I was always into the fusion sport, about 3 years ago I started looking for the spoiler, side skirts and rims to add onto mine. After some looking, found all of them and put them on, along with a shark fin antenna that tied it all nicely together. Recently I intended to get a new car, but COVID happened. Lockdown caused me to get weird ideas, and I started buying some parts to do a refresh on my car. After getting a steeda lowering kit, some akkon headlights/tailights, getting rid of all the chrome and getting black accents, here’s the final result. Only thing to change now is the license plates for the black ones. I got a lot of ideas from this forum, so thanks for all the great info out here ✌️
  3. I am having issues with my AC. Went out (blew hot air) intermittently for a while, then started always blowing hot air. I had my mechanic check the compressor (running correctly at about 250/40) and the freon (had a minor leak that was fixed). After searching online and the forum, we decided it was probably the evap temp sensor. My mechanic was unable to change it, so a friend and I changed it. The air blew cold that night after changing it, but then started blowing hot again the next day. I then searched the forum some more and found the issues with the blend door actuator. Somewhere (I was researching for a LONG time) I saw a statement to turn the air knob all the way to hot, and click by click turn it to cold. This works temporarily. I am searching of any advice on if it does sound like it might be the blend door actuator. If so, if anyone possibly knows which actual part I would purchase. The parts on the Ford website are listed as the blend door motor cam, blend door motor level, blend door motor temperature mode actuator and blend door motor air inlet (recirculation). Or, perhaps someone has an idea of something else it could be! Any help would be greatly appreciated as at this time, I simply can't afford to take it to the dealership. Thanks in advance!!!
  4. First time post for me. I took my 2010 Fusion to the dealer after the CEL came on. The told me it was code P144A and that I would need the evaporative purge valve and canister replaced. Of course I am over the 3yr/36k bumper to bumper and although this is a part of the emissions system, it is not covered by the emissions warranty (at least from my reading of the warranty). I was quoted $700 by my dealer to do the work. The parts alone apparently cost $300. Is this reasonable? I found information on a TSB 11-11-28 that talks about this part, but this of course does not mean Ford would make the repairs for free. Any advice?
  5. My Fusion has a fuel tank recall and has been at the dealership since February (6 months). I went to get some stuff out of the trunk and realized that the battery has been removed. Is there a problem with the car not being started for over 6 months? I would think that oil would need to be run through the engine so it wouldn't rust or lock up.
  6. So I just traded in my 2010 Ford Fusion SE for a Honda Accord. First time I have ever traded a car in before it was paid for. Why? Here were the problems I dealt with: Throttle Body went out at 40,000 miles. This was well before the recall. Took the dealer my receipt last month and they told me that Ford may not reimburse since I did the repair myself. Drivers side door handle broke. Both headlight connectors melted (this was with the original headlights). As many of you know, accessing the headlights for the repair was a royal pain (connectors cost $35 a piece). I think this may be another common issue. Curiously, you cannot buy the original harness any more. Ford has replaced it with something that looks much sturdier Transmission begin to "shift hard" out of park. Having read about all the transmission issues with the Fusion, this had me worried. Final straw: moon roof would not close all the way. Wind deflector bar would not drop down allowing the roof to seal. Lost all faith in the reliability of this car. Traded it in and kept my Toyota Camry that is 10 years old and has 160,000 miles on it. Probably will never touch a Ford again.
  7. Just wondering if any of you are driving a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport with in-dash navigation, and if so if you are aware of the version of the navigation software/maps update that came with the vehicle? I just purchased this car (used) and am trying to determine what differences there may be in the version of the navigation system I have versus the most recent update. Also, are there any other (more cost effective) ways to update the system/maps without having to pay the $199 via the official website?
  8. Hopefully this is an interesting discussion. Our very small dealership just got a beautiful 2010 Tuxedo Black Fusion SE into inventory. This car is an off lease corporate vehicle (not rental) in great condition! It has 62K miles and we want to know what you all think would be a great price for this car? Its an SE with the 200A options package and great tint. We thought it would be interesting to go from consumer to dealer rather than the other way around. This is not an attempt at an ad so I hope we are not violating any forum rules. This is sure to be an interesting discussion!
