  1. I’m trying to upgrade my engine and bigger turbo and have a tune line up but can only find regular parts like exhaust, springs, got a CAI, etc. I have a 2013 SE 1.6T. I was trying to find new cams and racing injectors
  2. I have a 2013 Fusion purchased, used from Carmax, about a year ago. Recently noticed that there is some bubbling happening under the paint in several places along the edge of the hood. Spoke with my local Ford dealer and was told this is not under warranty because there is no perforation. Called Ford directly and was told the warranty only applies if there is perforation of the metal, which there is none. My warranty expires in a month and a half, so I am looking to determine what my options are. I have included pics.
  3. Hello: My Daughter recently bought a used 2013 Fusion. She does not have any sound - although the radio turns on, a cd will play, and music from a phone via USB will show it is playing - no sound from any of these - the volume knob shows it should be loud but nothing. She has the factory stereo and we have researched and attempted: reset, unplugging the battery, and have checked all micro fuses related to the radio and speakers. Any other ideas?
  4. Hey everyone, I am Allison and I am new here and if course an issue with me Fusion is what led me here. I have a 2013 Fusion Titanium with eco boost and the Sony sound. My audio has stopped working. No sound from speakers even though it is showing radio working, by shows connected and working. The only audio I have is it will read text messages only can't talk to it and it will tell you to keep your eyes on the road and use sync technology or something like that I ran a speaker check and heard all tones. I changes all 20 amp microfuses under steering columns. I have disconnected battery and performed a master reset nothing has changed. I'm thinking it's the APIM since speaker test was fine. What numbers do I need to match apims? I obtained all numbers from test menu but not sure what is what.
  5. Here’s some photos of my 3 favorite things: Ford Fusions, chihuahuas, and anime.
  6. My 2013 Ford fusion had power steering issue. My power steering light came on and I drove about 100 miles, turned the car off and now I have no power steering. I'm on vacation a few states away from my house. Please help if you have any info Thanks.
  7. Yesterday my 2013 Ford Fusion's sync dropped my phone's blue tooth connection. It would not sync back up. I then deleted the device, reset the radio to the factory default. I had to do that before to get it to work. It will now not let me add my phone back. As soon as I click ok to start the pairing. I get a message back on my head unit that says. Pairing failed. Any suggestions?
  8. I just joined your forum and this is my first post. My apology if this has been covered in prior topics. Without any signs of any key fob low battery issues, my Intelligent Access Key fob will no longer lock/unlock door or start my car. I have replaced batteries in the original and spare key fob and the same condition exists. I am currently starting my car by placing the key in the back up slot located in the console. My local dealership service department is baffled and so far I haven't been able to find an online explaination. Additionally, while I am not sure it is related, at the same time as key fob issue occurred, the Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) malfunction indicatior illuminated (checked Tire Pressure and they are fine). Thank you for offering any suggestions I can do before having it troubleshoot by the dealership. Sincere regards, Jim
  9. Hello, All! We just bought a used 2013 Fusion Hybrid, and love it. It has 53,000 and is the Lux model. I am constantly watching the mpg monitor or fully expect to be in a crash soon due to my inability to look away from it ? I’m looking forward to mildly tinkering and reading everyone’s insights.
  10. I just finished messing with my "hood ajar" error message that was annoying the snot outa' me, so I thought I'd share what I experienced: I took the nose off and replaced all the light bulbs in the front because replacing one is kinda useless; As we all know, if you replace one, replace them all or else it will come back to haunt you. After everything was back in place and all the lights working properly, the "HOOD AJAR" message came on. I searched for a replacement switch, which is between 42-80 bucks online, or possibly much more than that at the Ford Dealer. After taking the splash guard out and turning the driver side of the nose down I made sure the switch, a micro switch, was intact. Reading a lot of comments in various places made me leery not to replace before testing. (I am a QA Analyst after all) Before it came out, I marked the bolts and the latch frame's position so it would go back into the same position when it goes back in. Scratching it with a hook tool puts a line around where the washer originally was. I took the entire hood latch out to expose the switch in its' environment so I could see how it operates Then I took the switch off with a small torx socket. I checked the switch for continuity - OK. Brightened the contacts and the lobe on the hood latch just-in-case, thinking it may be grounded- it's not . - OK Then I SLIGHTLY bent the hook of the stainless switch arm with a small needle nose pliers to give it just a tad of downward angle. I thought that, after some time the metal had fatigued and was not shutting off. When the switch is depressed, the meter gave me continuity. I think that is "Closed" circuit? When the switch is released, continuity is broken. Is that an "open" circuit? I don't know which direction the message is triggered, but I figured bending it might help. I had to try to save 80 bucks. Once I got the latch all back together ( I left the nose hanging), I tried it to see if the message went away. This time it worked. So I suggest, maybe checking the switch out for continuity, clean the contacts, the lobe of the latch, maybe adjust the height of the latch, and pray you can save 80 bucks. Another thought: if the latch mechanism is moved SLIGHTLY up, the bar on the hood may come down a little deeper into the latch and move that lobe a little further into the switch. That might also be a reason the light was coming on. I jiggled something to cause this. Anyway, hope this may give you some ideas and help someone else out there that may experience the "Hood Ajar" issue. It beats spending 80 bucks.
  11. Hello all, I have spent a couple hours trying to find the Fuel Filter part number and location on my 2013 EcoBoost fusion. Does anyone know the part I need and the location of the filter? Part is nowhere to be found on the Ford parts catalog. I saw some videos on YouTube for the location but all of them where different engines to mine so I'm not sure. Also, I found a motorcraft PN on Autozone but Ford's catalog says that part number is not for my car. Please let me know if you need more info. Thank you.
  12. Hey everyone, I am new to this forum stuff but I figured I'd message you all and see what you know... My 2013 Ford Fusion 1.6L ecoboost is making a ticking/knocking noise at idle. You can really hear it while at a complete stop and in gear. In park you hear it as well but not as loud.. SAYING THAT, the noise is easily heard more inside of the vehicle than outside. I made a video and posted on YouTube for you all to see... any ideas??? Any help is appreciated. WATCH THE VIDEO!!
  13. I recently purchased a used 2013 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid with about 56,000 miles. I'm still learning the car. I have an issue with the AC. It seems like it is always on. It was 80 degrees outside yesterday. I have the control set on 74, but I don't have the AC on. It still seems like I feel a light, cold breeze coming out of all vents. Any thoughts? I am not the most mechanically inclined person so I may be missing something incredibly simple.
  14. Good day folks! I have a question regarding my brothers Fusion. He just changed his tires and his alignment got refused as his right lower control arm is shot (i assume the inner bushing went to hell). Firstly, does anyone have a write up on how to do it? As I understand the procedure is different in 2013+ Fusions compared to the older platform shared with the Mazda6. Secondly, other than calling a dealer to be certain, there are two part numbers that according to part websites fit: GS7Z-3078-B and GS7Z-3078-A . Any difference between the two? Thank you for your help, Odi
  15. Hi, I have a 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium and am looking to hard wire in my Escort 9500ix detector. I understand the options to wire it in are: (a) use an add-a-fuse kit or a fuse tap kit and tap into an existing fuse for an ignition-switched item ( use a wire-splice kit to tap into a wire I'd like to use option B and tap into an existing wire in the center console, around the headunit, MyFord Touch. I am having trouble finding a good wire to use! Any advice? I'd prefer to not use the auto-dimming mirror as then I would have to run a wire around the trim, down the pillar and to the center. Thanks for your help!
  16. Just moved to Oahu from Japan and needed to buy two cars. We visited all of the dealers looking at their used offerings, and nothing really clicked with me until I found a 2013 Fusion SE with the 1.6L Ecoboost. I'm loving this car on perhaps one of the most picturesque daily commutes, from Ewa Beach to Kaneohe Bay. The driving conditions include stop and go traffic, gridlock, and winding mountainous 4-lane highways with no impediments at all. After one month, I'm averaging a little over 30 mpg in these conditions! Love the styling, the appointments and the fuel economy. Very comfortable car that's a blast to drive.
  17. Evening guys. Been a Ford fan since my 1990 Taurus, but that was another life ago. Traded in a 2005 Honda Accord with 205K on the odo and finally convinced the wife that it was better as a down payment than a paper weight. Her (my former) DD is a 2011 Edge SEL with about 98K on it. (I used to be active on the Edge Forum) Picked up my Fusion about a week ago with 24K in it. I finally have a car the exactly the way I want it. Pretty much fully loaded. K&N filter is awaiting installation. Probably going to Tint 35% all around and do some other things one at a time. Car was local and only 24k after 3 years, so lucky me.....except for 3 of the rims that need to be redone. Was a self-employed car detailer in the past when I had spare time, but now most of that is dedicated to a 11mo old, the wife and house. But if you have car care questions, LMK. I'm sure there are others that know more than me. Looking forward to being here. -Mickey
  18. Has anyone found a rack for 2013+ model with AERO bars other than Thule or Rhino Racks? The prices on those 2 are insane, starting with $360. I can't believe there is nothing else out there more reasonable. Sure there are square bar options as well, but I don't like the look of those.
  19. Hello! I am trying to add my subwoofer to my 2014 fusion se with the MFT system. I DONT have the premium sound with the rear deck lid speakers. I was gonna use a line out converter to get the signal for my amp and i was thinking that the wiring harness for the rear deck speakers would still be there but I cannot seem to locate it after pulling out the siding of the trunk. I did find a 12 pin clip that wasnt hooked up to anything and I think that that might be it. Its located almost under the rear passenger seat. does anyone know if that would be the right connector? What would the color of the speaker wires be if it is? Also if that is not the right connector does anyone know the color of the speaker wires comming out of the rear doors (not the tweeter wires)? Any help would be great!
  20. My first problem is i cant find all the interior bulb sizes. The next is how do i change the bulbs i figured out the trunk but not the dome lights. The next is it legal to have blue interior lights ?
  21. Hey guys, I'm trying to modify my bumper. I'm not really sure though if it's possible to be done so I thought I could take your opinion. As you can see in the picture I'm trying to remove the plastic underneath the grille and put a custom made grille that could cover the whole thing without that particular item. It's just an idea but im not really sure if it could happen. Let me know if you can recommend something. Thank in advance
  22. I have had my 2013 Ford Fusion for less than 2 years. I have enjoyed the car very much. It has had a few issues along the way, but nothing major. Yesterday, the Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) system failed causing the car to switch to manual steering. Thankfully this did not occur while driving the highway. In doing some research, I have learned that this has been a common issue with the Fusion. And as far as I can tell, Ford has issued recalls for the 2010 - 2012 models but has yet to expand it into the 2013 - 2015 models. Thankfully the issue will be covered by warranty. But where I am most concerned is: (1) is this an epidemic, are other owners of the new fusions experiencing this same issue? and (2) if so, has ford been able to fix the issue or has their fix only be a temporary one and the issue has occurred again? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. If it helps, my Fusion is the SE model, but it is not the Hybrid, Energi, or Ecoboost models. It has the basic 2.5L engine. Thanks, dm
  23. Hello, I have 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium AWD with 19" H-Spoke Wheels, i need to buy winter tires for my car because the stopping distance is bad with the current tires in snow/ice in ontario. I have "ContiPro Tires" 235/40R19. When I went to local Ford Dealership for recommending me winter tires, they gave me this option "Uniroyal Tiger Paw Ice and Snow II" with Tire Size "215/60R16". Now, I wanted Either Hancook or Michelin Winter Tires, but they don't have in stock. So I went to Canadian Tire, and they do have tires in stock with that size "215/60R16". But I am worried that going from 235/40R19 to 215/60R16 is a great jump, and Will there be any issue with that or not, i can't figure it out. So Can anyone advice me with that or give me more option what to do? Also for FYI, I can't find good winter tires with this size 235/40R19, so i am wiling to go to 17", if its possible. Thanks,
  24. I just purchased a used 2013 Fusion SE 1.6L yesterday. It has 33k miles but was certified pre-owned. This morning, on my first commute into work with it, I tried to shift into Sport mode and then use the button selectors to manually shift the vehicle. To my surprise, the orange indicator didn't move from 'D' to 'S'. It simply went blank. I couldn't notice a perceptible difference in the way the vehicle was shifting so I don't believe Sport mode ever got engaged. More importantly, I was not able to manually change gears with the button selectors. I upgraded my Sync / MyFord Touch system last night so I was hoping it was just some weird side effect of that, but the problem resurfaced once this evening after an errand run. It doesn't seem to be happening with any type of regularity. I was able to use the feature multiple times on my way home and during a few other short jaunts this evening. I've done a lot of searches and read quite a bit about transmission issues with the Fusions. It seems like most were centered on the '10 - '12 model years. I do notice some of the hard-shifts and revving between 2nd and 3rd gear and even in Sport manual mode, the shift from 2 to 3 has a fair delay. I'm planning on calling my dealer tomorrow morning to ask about this issue but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced it before. It sounds like flashing some of the controller software is the most common remedy for these types of issues but that the solution doesn't always last. One day into ownership, I'm just hoping this isn't a sign of trouble to come. Thanks in advance, Jason
