  1. Hello all, I recently purchased a 2012 CPO Fusion Sport with 44k miles. I love it! It's coming up to the time where I will do an oil change. I do oil changes myself and would like to know if after 44k miles of oil changes being done at a Ford dealership (assuming semi-synthetic) would it be a bad idea to change over to Mobil 1 full synthetic oil. I purchase it cheap at Walmart so it's only a few more dollars than Motorcraft semi-synthetic. After 44k miles, is it a bad idea to change over to full synthetic? Don't want any issues but I live in a cold climate, and think there is advantages of full syn oil for cold starts. I'd appreciate your thoughts! Mostly concerned about engine problems (very slippery syn oil leaking) Thanks!
  2. I have been banging my head on this one for a couple weeks and my searches are not turning up anything useful. 2012 Fusion Sport 3.5 AWD She overheats when climbing hills on the highway but cools down almost immediately after cresting the hill. I did the thermostat the other day and did find some rubber pieces stuck to the thermostat, similar to a tire tube type rubber. I've burped the system several times and she only drops coolant level when overheating. I'm going to replace the radiator and flush the system this weekend but not sure it will make any difference. I also purchased a vacuum filler so I will refill that way. No white smoke, no water in the oil, no power loss and ~200lbs across all 6. My brain keeps going 'water pump, water pump, water pump' but I'm not excited about digging that deep with so many projects going at once. Honestly, if the water pump ends up being the issue, I'm going to replace it with the whole engine since it's sitting over 200k. Thoughts?

    New Guy

New to this forum and new to my fusion. I picked up this 2011 Sport in gorgeous white after searching for an 11 or 12 sport. Looking to do some upgrades, lighting, cold air intake, etc in the near future.
  5. New to the forum here, looking at possibly buying a 2012 Fusion Sport. I have the Haynes Repair Manual for 2006-2010 Fusions, Milans, and MKZs from my previous car (2006 Milan), which I kept up, but met a sudden and tragic end. I haven't seen too many changes recorded from 2010-2012, but is there a comparable manual available for the 2012 Fusions? My guess is that there shouldn't be that much mechanical difference, but the electric might be slightly different. I do like to have more than my own guesswork when I go in to fix something.
  6. Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some help with this problem here, keep in mind i drive a 2008 Lincoln MKZ and not an actual fusion sport. However these cars are almost identical as far as engine and exhaust setup goes. About 6 months ago I got Magnaflow #11225 mufflers and had the shops fill in the blanks. By fill in the blanks I mean they welded the stock tips back on and did a second resonator delete. The exhaust sounds good but I feel like it is too quiet in the high RPM range (above 3000), just a little bit louder than stock. However, in the lower ranges its just right (almost a little loud) much louder than stock. I realized that in welding the stock tips on, the pipe diameter after the muffler outlet just before the tip went from 2.25"(muffler outlet diameter) back to a 2.00" (the stock pipe diameter) then out through the 3" stock tip. I was just wondering if I increased that pipe size, after the muffler but before the tip and put new tips on with an inlet of 2.25" instead of the stock tips which have an inlet of 2.00", would it help with my problem. Would it make the low RPMs louder and not do anything for the high RPMs? Or the other way around? Or make both louder? If you guys think it wouldn't be worth the money then let me know that too! Any input would be great. Thanks in advance!
