My car sat up for one to two years and I drained the oil and replaced it the battery was dead so I jumped it off and the car started and then shut off with the cables still connected I tried repeatedly to start it back up and it will crank but won’t fire up I’ve seen a lot of different potential issues online from fuel pump/filter to fuel injectors, spark plugs as well as fuses could anyone please give me a good suggestion on where to start/what to fix as I don’t want to replace parts needlessly. If anyone has had an issue similar to this some assistance would be greatly appreciated thanks for your time -
Hi all! I was on my way to work this morning, and less than a quarter mile from home, my car starts alarming and saying engine over temp. The temperature gauge showed as hot as hot could get, so I immediately shut the car off. (Now mind you, the car really hadn’t even had time to warm up yet. My top speed might have been 30mph max, and it had been parked in a cool garage overnight.) I wasn’t parked in an ideal spot on the road, there wasn’t a shoulder so I was literally in the driving lane. I turned the key to “on” and put it in neutral to roll back to a side street. At that point, I turned the car on so that I could drive it forward to park it out of the way. As soon as I started it, it was ok, temperature was in normal range. I then pulled it up about 20 feet and started putting it in park. At that moment, it started alarming again and started a rough idle. There was no smell of antifreeze, no smoke from under the hood, nothing. At that point, I shut it off and called for a ride. Any ideas what this could be? I don’t have the money to invest in all of the typical “try this and that” and if that don’t work... ???♀️ So anyway...anyone have any ideas? I’m begging for help! Lol!
