  1. Hi. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion. A few days ago the panel that indicates info/stats displayed SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. The ABS and Traction/Stability Control warning lights came on at the same time. This only happened in the mornings, when I start the car and am going under 20mph. It seems like turning sharply would trigger it. Sometimes not though. Sometimes it would pop on randomly.. and then would pop off again. I haven't seen it come on after turning the car on in the afternoon to go home though. I looked around and found someone on reddit posting about the same thing and it scared me. It looks like if I don't get this fixed ASAP I could cause serious financial issues down the road. It's not regarding a Fusion.. but it seems like it would still be applicable. Here is the reddit thread: (please note I just copied part of their reply, this is a discussion between them and another poster) https://www.reddit.com/r/MustangTech/comments/m1nrez/service_advancetrac_i_need_help_this_appeared/ I’ve got that. It’s a traction control or an ABS sensor out. Traction Control I think if I recall correctly. Expensive to fix but please please do it immediately. My girl is a 2010 V6 Convertible and a hand-me-down from my brother who refused to fix her. Two transmissions later and we’re 4k down on a 800 dollar repair if you have someone else do it. I’m unaware of how to fix the sensor, I’m not great at electronics, but it’ll save your transmission and differential. Please jump on that as soon as fucking possible okay? Learn from my pained pony Basically, without that sensor the car no longer has any idea what that wheel is doing. If that wheel slips, the car doesn’t know, but the differential can only handle so much slippage which sends shock up the entire system, because if one wheel slipping causes the other to spin, traction control kicks in on the opposite tyre and the car is no longer proactive with the TCS, it’s reactive and it causes all sorts of issues The vehicle is now in a pseudo-safe-mode that really doesn’t want you toying around anymore until it’s fixed. Again, it’s been so long I cannot 100% confirm if it was TCS or ABS but do it as soon as possible, it’ll save your frankly fragile transmission and a couple grand in repair costs. This all happened when I'm about to take a trip and leave Sunday. The trip is 90 miles one way, mostly freeway. Would it be a horrible mistake to put this off for a week until my trip is over? I do have it lined up to have Tuffy look at it tomorrow morning (my dealership and my local places are all booked a month out). Thanks for any advice and for answer my questions! Sorry I don't know more about this. I tried looking into it but it just confused me more. And I'm stressed and worried now. Thank you again for any help!
  2. I have a 2010 mercury milan 2.5, I have recently started to upgrade the electrical system to accommodate an aftermarket audio system. Starting with the "big 3" wiring upgrade, which consists of running 0 guage wires that will provide a much larger path for the current to reach the amp in the trunk and also a path of lower impedance to ground. I ran a 0 gauge wire from Battery + to alternator Battery - to frame Body to frame. Resulting in an increase of voltage at the amp. Before 13.4 volts After 14.6 volts. One volt means alot in terms of car audio, sometimes as much as a couple hundred watts. However, the downside is this... I now have a couple of warning lights and messages on the drivers information read out.. Which are the advancetrac light and the airbag light both on, and the message that reads "service advancetrac" also "service power steering now" and of course, no power steering as a result. I understand that modifications sometimes have their disadvantages but this is supposed to help the situation, so they say... Any help that may help uncover what I now am referring to as W.E.S. (weird electrical shit), is greatly appreciated.
  3. Driving for about 5 hours, in rain, freezing rain, snow, icy roads. Just as I hit the exit to my house, everything lit up. Dash Warnings Service AdvanceTrac Check Rear Park Aid Blindspot System Fault Collision Warning Not Available Adaptive Cruise Not Available Hill Start Assist Not Available Dash Lights ABS Light is on, the Traction Control light is on, and several others mentioned above 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid, about 70k miles. I am thinking a ground issue, but have no idea where to start.. Car has been a really good vehicle up to this point. They have all been on for a few days now, I can reset, and they all come back.. Its been cold above freezing now, but still having all the issues. I looked through the forum and seen a couple of these together, but not the entire list. 4. Hello, sorry if this question has been asked before and solved. I was driving my car a few weeks ago and I briefly had the "Service ABS", "Service Advancetrac," and "Hill Start Assist Not Available" messages appear and the ABS, Traction Control, and Traction Control OFF lights illuminate. About a mile later, the lights went off. I sort of forgot about it, figured I'd gotten some water somewhere and it worked itself out. Fast forward to yesterday, and I turn the car on in my driveway and all the messages appear and the lights illuminate on startup. I've driven about 150 miles in several trips since then, and the lights persist. I'm thinking that the culprit is probably my wheel speed sensors, does anybody have any other or better ideas? I'm hesitant to take it to my nearest dealership, since I've not had the greatest experiences with their service department in the past. I usually go to the next town over, but that's about 20 miles away, and obviously not very convenient. Any help would be appreciated!
  5. I have a 2011 Ford Fusion SE and today I went to turn my car on, but instead the dashboard lights flickered and the car just made the beeping noise you hear when you insert the key. The messaging center then said "check brake system" and "service AdvanceTrac." I have no idea why the car won't turn on and I need as much help as possible. TIA!
  6. Looking for advice on route to take, Have an appointment on monday (A little long a wait for intermittent steering failure on my family sedan but best they could do) Within 1 minute of starting the car there is a message "Power Steering Fault" and there is no power steering, this has happened 3x in two weeks now. Turn the car off/on the steering is back but feels a little stiff for a while. I have read this is possibly related to cold temperatures which lately is about 0 deg C. Possibly associated issue 2 months ago I had a "Service Advancetrac" mesaage while driving at about 25km/h and the dealer said there was no code was saved so couldnt do anything, come back when the code is on, which didn't happened until now. The advancetrac message was just under warranty (Aprx 55000 kms of 60000) but, now is at 74000 km. I see most people are being stuck with the $1500-2000 bill for a new rack&pinion repair on their 1-2yr old vehicle. 2010-2012 fusions seem to be effected. Has anyone had this problem and had it repaired under warranty? Im having the same issue as many others it seems Any help would be appreciated!
