2013 Fusion Blindspot System Fault
rotarii posted a topic in Advanced Driver Assistance Technologies
Hey all I just got a used 2013 Fusion Titanium with BLIS. Everything worked fine and then I noticed the right side blindspot assist would fault and then work again on some drives. Now it doesn't work at all and I get the message that the system is faulted each time I start the car. The bumper is clean and I don't see any issues there, and the cross-traffic alert feature works just fine when I am in reverse. When I go to the dashboard settings to turn it off the "Blindspot" menu is grayed out, and I can't. I'm wondering is there a way to turn it off? or some way to reset it? I don't think I have a bad sensor if cross-traffic works and the car only has 30k miles. I'd like to avoid the dealer if possible. any ideas?- 10 replies

I have a 2012 Fusion SEL that is having a problem with BLIS on the passenger side. When starting the car, the light on the driver's side mirror comes on for about five seconds and the passenger's side mirror only lights up for about a second before going off. The driver's side blind spot warning and cross traffic alert works fine, but I have no blind spot info or cross traffic alert on the passenger side. When you run the system check, it says "Blind Spot Okay" and "Cross Traffic Okay". I took it to my Ford dealer in Columbia and said "they could not replicate the problem and there was no code". I feel like they just ran the system check and said it was fine. You can tell there is an issue upon starting the car as the lights do not stay on the same amount of time on the mirrors. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it the right side BLIS module?

Got to take a look at Blis more seriously today on a ride out of town -gotta say I love the simplicity and what a great Idea .We get some pretty fancy cars whipping up past you on our local 407 (jets with wheels)its nothing for some of the cars to be going 140- 160 (km/H) some times they really catch you of guard whipping into your blind spot a little help on the "all clear" is a great Idea for sure.
