Hello, All! We just bought a used 2013 Fusion Hybrid, and love it. It has 53,000 and is the Lux model. I am constantly watching the mpg monitor or fully expect to be in a crash soon due to my inability to look away from it ? I’m looking forward to mildly tinkering and reading everyone’s insights.

is it safe to jump start a ford fusion hybrid?

I have now owned my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid since I bought it on clearance six years ago and it's better than ever. The only repairs I have needed are a new rotor and caliper for one wheel and a replacement driver's side mirror after my neighbor crashed into it with her car. She paid for the repairs, though, and luckily I didn't need to use the car for two days because the dealer ordered the wrong part after I specified TWICE which part they needed to order. This is the best car I have ever owned. My long-term fuel economy is currently 40.5 mpg. Lately, I have been averaging between 42-50 mpg on my commute to work, which is mostly what I use the car for. I was so pleased with this car that when it was time to get my wife a new car, we bought another Ford. She now drives a 2014 Ford C-Max Energi that we charge up with the solar panels on our roof. It's amazing, like having our very own gas station that continuously produces its own fuel. Someday far in the future when it actually becomes necessary to replace my FFH, I think I'll get the Energi model so I can get the electric range too. Hope everyone else is pleased with their Ford Fusion Hybrid too. Ford knocked this one out of the park.

Like some other users here I noticed today that the Climate Control options on my 2013 Ford Fusion (mine's a hybrid, not sure if that matters) are all greyed out. I recently took the car in for one of the recalls for some sort of flash and honestly I'm not sure if that's what changed the options to grey and unavilable or not. Now that it's getting colder I noticed that when I used the remote start the seats arne't warm and the front and rear defrosters weren't on and when I tried to change the setting everything was grey From what I've read I suppose that I'll need to take it into the dealership and printing out someting that says: Remote Start options greyed out from research I have found 3 possible solutions 3 possible solutions. TSB 13-05-28 TSB 13-4-4 Or update the instrument cluster. If these don't work then the tech needs to go through the remote start enable process and recheck for the cluster enable not being set in Module Programming/Programmable Parameters on IDS There are 2 parameters that must be set, along with equipment flags. Often a tech that doesn't do lots of these will only enable one, because he doesn't expect there to be multiple. Anyone have any other suggestions? Not looking forward to yet another day without my car Thanks

Total sales of the first generation FF, Milan, MKZ hybrids up till March 31, 2012 is about 61,500 units per: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_electric_vehicles_in_the_United_States A few more thousand may be sold but it looks like this vehicle type population will max out at about 65,000. They will be forever rare.
