  1. I'm having an issue with my 2016 ford fusion 2.5. 63k mil. When coming to a stop in drive, there is a noticable ratling noise from the engine bay accompanied by an occasional idle surge. The rpm will slightly drop, and when it does the whole car will pulsate and will shake for a second (i can feel it in the seat). Running the car with the ac on will make the noise and idle worse. Ac is fine and blows cold air. I've gotten the top (main) motor mount replaced ~1000 miles ago, which is what the dealer determined. Drives much better, But the issue persists. Other than that, the transmission has gotten a bit wonky lately and shifting feels harder than usual. No check engine light. I'm suspecting the chain tensioner/ac pulley bearing may be bad but I am not sure on what could be the problem. Would greatly appreciate any advise on this.
  2. Ok Guys, I'm new to this forum & a noob to this "F๏rd H๏rde" in general.... Thanks in advance for y'all's advice. As mentioned in title, I own a white 2019 1.5L Ecoboost Fusion SEL. Milage : 28098 Maintenance is up to date as I handle it personally. Carfax shows it's history as a Enterprise rental in Ohio until a minor Front passenger side collision. Cosmetic damage only, nothing mechanial. Car repaired; sold to dealership; bought by me @ around 18,500 mi. So today I did scheduled maintenance # 2 since I've had her & after pouring in my fresh 5w20 it seemed as if it was running louder than I remembered; not only that but there is an intense CLICKING that is even louder than that. This was coming from the small plastic 'WhatTheFucksIt' that can be seen in the pic & heard in the vid clip. 1. I'm trying to identify 'said' part & find out if it's supposed to behave in this manner or if its malfunctioning? 2. Is my Engine idling abnormally loud or is it perfectly fine & I was tripping earlier? IMG_2976.MOV

  4. So my 2010 Ford Fusion will shake when i am at a stop but as soon as i give it gas it will be fine. Only happens when it is in drive or Reverse and i have the brake pressed down. I have changed the Spark plugs, Valve cover gasket, Belt drive and pulleys and nothing it still shakes. Could someone help please it shakes the steering wheel and interior. It doesn't shake while stopping it only shakes when at a complete stop. Also The car makes a weird rattle noise when i accelerate too hard usually at about 1800- 2300 RPM but only in first and third gear. Please help.
  5. What is the real scoop on re-learning idle control after disconnecting battery? Have seen video of guy connecting a jumper from pos to neg cable after disconnecting the neg cable. Steps on starting car and let run after ensuring everything is off lights, etc. Have not seen anything in the Haynes manual about said re-learning.
  6. Hey everyone, I am new to this forum stuff but I figured I'd message you all and see what you know... My 2013 Ford Fusion 1.6L ecoboost is making a ticking/knocking noise at idle. You can really hear it while at a complete stop and in gear. In park you hear it as well but not as loud.. SAYING THAT, the noise is easily heard more inside of the vehicle than outside. I made a video and posted on YouTube for you all to see... any ideas??? Any help is appreciated. WATCH THE VIDEO!!
  7. Ok I have 2013 1.6L ecoboost and lately it seems when we stop at a light the steering wheel shakes / vibration. The car runs fine when in park or in neutral, its just when in gear its runs rough when idling. Also seem to be running a bit louder than usual. I just happened to notice this a few weeks ago. I don't drive it all the time, I just happened to take the car one day and was like wow. It is currently at the dealer and they said everything is normal and no codes from the ECU. It almost seems if it doesn't through a code they don't have a clue what is wrong with it. Anyone else have this issue?

    Irregular idle

I notice on my 2015 Fusion 2.5 an irregular idle after its sat for a while. I have had it to the dealer once and they hooked it up to the scan tool and could not find anything. I have again brought it for them to look at. and they have had it a few days. I made a video for you to see....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tArM78gYIA8 Has anyone else experienced this? Or know what the problem is?
  9. New to the forum, hopefully this is the correct area to be posting this. Hoping someone could give me a little help on this. I have a 2008 Fusion that has a rattle from hell when the engine is at an idle and under some sort of load, power steering, A/C, the alternator, whatever. Sound like marbles in a can. It is especially bad when the car is in gear. You can watch the serpentine belt tensioner jump around as it makes this noise, and if you apply some sort of pressure to the tensioner while it it running it stops. With the belt off everything seems to spin freely. I've already replaced the tensioner (with a Motorcraft one), belt, idler pulleys and the alternator when it gave out. It's been going on for a while now and I can't seem to figure out what is causing it, and I can't really afford to throw parts at it since I'm going to school at the moment. Is there some way to diagnose what is causing this? Or has anyone else had a similar problem? I've hit a bit of a brick wall here, as I do not know how to check what could be causing this.
