  1. I just changed over to winter tires on my 2013 SE 1.6 that had factory original Michelin Energy Savers, 235/50R/17. I have only 34000 km on the factory tires but the tire wear indicators show only 1/16" wear left on them which would mean 40000k and they are done. Is this typical for the OEM tires? The wear on all 4 is pretty even, and they have been rotated front to back.
  2. So my '06 SEL is at 93k miles and beginning to need its third set of tires. I bought it at 75k with its current tires. They're Nexen N6000 and I absolutely hate them. They ride rough, are pretty loud, have only decent handling, and wet grip is almost nonexistent. My car doesn't have ESC, TC or ABS (I'd like to meet the person who made the decision not to make all that standard- especially on a top-of-the-line SEL). That being said, with new tires, wet traction is one of my top priorities. I need all-season tires. I live in the southeast, so snow isn't usually a problem, but we have the occasional icing. I also want excellent handling because I'm a pretty agressive driver. I also want ride comfort- my family lives about 500 miles away so I take frequent road trips on broken interstates, and a jiggly ride makes it miserable. As I said previously, wet traction is VERY important since I don't even have ABS. I also want a long tread life- I'm having to spend months saving up for this set of tires, so obviously money doesn't grow on trees for me. I'd also like quieter tires, these I have now drive me insane with all their noise. Price-wise, I don't want to go cheap, but I also don't want anything outrageously expensive. I've been leaning toward the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. I'd like to hear about experiences and suggestions. Thanks!
