  1. Hi everyone, I'm sure this topic has been done to death, but my 07 Fusion, FNR5 tranny, 2.3L is running stupid. It now has 100,025 miles on it. For a while now it run fine, but when you coast down hills the speedo would go erratic and the mileage numbers would flatline ----- then on regular roads and grades back to normal. Puts out a code P0720 OSS sensor. A week ago the speedo quit for good and the numbers are still flatlined no matter the road, I installed a new OSS sensor and cleared the computer, no change still not fixed. As a side note the fluid that ran out of the sensor hole was BLACK not red at all! Any advice??
  2. I'm kind of in a big pickle here: In about a month and a half to two months, I'll be pulling the trigger on buying myself one of these beauts, however I'm kinda stuck in between two cars from two different dealerships, so I'm here asking for a little input from others. Both Cars are Ford Fusion 2012 Sports. Car A: This car has about 83k miles on it, and is all wheel drive. It also has pretty much all the major features that comes in a fusion of that particular year, the 2012 model, including the Navi. It even comes with a remote start! That really saves me the trouble of going to get it installed later. So yes, this car is a very nice looking car with all the bells and whistles. It costs about $14k with taxes and everything included, and it's being sold right in my home city. The bad part about the car is that it doesn't have any warranties, and the potentially crucial 83k miles on it. Car B: This car has about 43k miles on it, and is not AWD. It has nearly every feature of Car A, save for the Navi, but it does keep the reverse cam and BLIS. It doesn't have the remote start either, but again can be installed later with the tracking device I plan to put into it(can never be too sure). I can do without the Navi system as I do have a smart phone, but again it's always a nice add-on. The car is priced at about 17k after all the taxes and whatnot. This car also comes with a 1 year warranty from the dealership as its CPO'd and it comes with a 7 year power train warranty. The only thing is that the price of the car will mean I would have to hold off on any custom installations until after I can pay off the car some. It's also about 1.5 hours away from me. I know that 1.5-2 months could be a long time from now, and that cars like Car A could be purchased easily(however I have a feeling that many people will be spending their money on Christmas gifts rather than cars, unless the car would be considered the gift lol). Which car would sound like a smarter choice to make? Thanks for the help everyone!
  3. I currently own a 2010 Fusion Sport. Recently I was at my Ford dealer for service, when I noticed the new Fusion. I walked over to take a look at it and was hooked. It's beautiful inside and out. When I noticed the 2.0L gets an EPA 22mpg city, and 33mpg highway and scoots from 0 - 60 in under 7 seconds I became intrigued. My Fusion Sport can easily make the grade when it comes to acceleration, but I get 18 mpg city and 28 to 29 mpg highway. Seeing an opportunity to perhaps upgrade I took it for a test drive. I test drove a FWD 2.0L Titanium. Before we left the dealer parking lot I reset the mileage tracker, then let the sales rep guide me thru his routine test drive. It was all back roads with only 2 stop lights. The car got 20.5 mpg on the trip. Afterward I took my Fusion Sport thru the exact same test drive route. My car got 24.5 mpg. Thinking maybe it was a fluke (because I really want to like this car), I went to a different dealer today and tried my same test again. This time the 2.0L got 17.5 mpg and my car got 21 mpg on the same route. I realize this isn't a completely fair test. It's a short drive, I'm carrying a sales rep with me in the 2.0L but not in my Sport, and the 2.0L hasn't been broken in yet. However my instincts are telling me that none of these excuses are going to make up this mpg gap. Perhaps actual MPG for these cars is going to be no improvement over my current car. Am I wrong? My Sport isn't anywhere near an MPG world beater. Can anyone explain what's going on here? I wonder if the 2.0L would get significantly better mileage with Premium gas. Seems like the kind of engine that would run best on premium.
  4. I just purchased a used 2010 Ford Fusion Sport AWD, and although I researched the posted mileage for the vehicle I'm looking for some real world experience input on what I can expect in terms of how many KMs I'll get per tank/how often I'll need to fill up. I recognize it depends on driving habits and patterns, but I'm curious of your experience in this regard (including your particular driving habits - city versus highway, etc.). Any insights are appreciated.
  5. Not looking for typical tips such as driving habit, tire pressure etc. I am thinking tune-up - or is it necessary? Maybe something that I can DIY such as replacing spark plug? 2010 Fusion 2.5
